Outside of a bow or gun ,I won’t go in the woods without , binoculars, knife,flashlight and some form of wet wipes !

Bow hooks are both good and bad, I believe my bow should be in my hand or lap . Hooks are nice for when I may want to reach into my pack or something through . I use a screw in step. My pack on that grab loop on top I have a carabiner and a loop of rope that way I have many options, I can use carabiner to attach it to the ratchet strap , or seat , hang it from a step by the rope whatever places it in easy reach .

30 mph with gusts to 65 , it’s a no from me dog . Buddy wants me to hunt ducks on the Bay, because with those winds they won’t be on the lake , but the coves of the Bay ,ya ok good luck in your little John boat . Week end is filled up with other obligations, I may get out once maybe Sat AM, the hit it hard starting Monday . oh and shooting a bedded deer with an arrow, is not something I’d ever consider .

Ya know perhaps he checks parking areas for change , knives and wallets that fall out during the shaking .

10% is often used as it’s the historical average return , 30k at 10% for five years is a bit over 48k . Funny as 30k was about what the Subaru was , I was going to pay cash I know not smart, but then got zero % and invested the 30k , not sure of return as I dumped it in an existing fund , ill have to check. Sure it’s not been 10% though .

I just did in a store that we’re not supposed to support . I needed some of those scent free baby wipes, I like them for cleaning up after I gut, or go number two ,or if I work up a sweat in the morning on an all day hunt . Anyway I’m standing there looking over all the sprays and stuff , and he comes up and just starts telling me what to do , then he says “ know what’s the single best thing you can do ? “ I reply “ shop on line ? “ Nope I gotta shake out my clothes prior to putting on to get rid of all the shed scent molecules, otherwise with each step I’ll be “ dropping “ them as we produce millions of them daily . Anywho he just keeps going on and on , about shaking my clothes the whole time I’m thinking what his screen name here might be .... I should have asked if he knew where the hockey tape was . As I approach the register,I hear him again, this time some guy in camo is trapped in line with him, I stayed away till he left . Im sure others have stories .

There used to one in that Lowe’s,( Im guessing the one near his home ) that was hot, blonde, French tips, tan, nice body, smelled like vanilla worked early mornings . I would stop just to get a gator aid in her line .

Lol . My only concern , is I tie them off at the bottom so the knot slides up easy , on a ladder then the rope would be in the way once sitting if it’s tied to lower rung . I may hold the rope as she climbs , then once up she can swing it over behind her , and climbing down it wouldn’t matter .

Mine come down ,along with the stands every year ,although I only have one hang on now and it’s in the garage . I am going to rig them on the two, ladders my daughter uses, my old safety plan was to stand under her to catch / break her fall as she climbed up / down ( she clipped in once up ) . Mrs Nomad was less then impressed with that plan ,it’s a 18 foot stand .

Haven’t watched a game since the Nationals organization and fans had to make it political.

My friends had trap lines on many areas all across the county , run ways were very plentiful on the each creek . Their skinning knife was a skinny five inch stag handle fixed blade , that they also used to mix up bondo to fill the rust holes on their crappy old cars , had to knock off the set up bondo with a hammer , before you could skin them . Wolc , is 100% correct, big money in the late 70’s early ‘80s , and nobody cared when you parked at a shopping center and trapped in the drainage behind it , or on the college campus like we used to , got cattails cool we’re Setting traps then .

My friend made enough over Christmas break, ( four weeks ) to pay for the next semester at St .John Fisher college . $7 a rat, $35 plus a coon , don’t recall the mink price , but it was nice to get a couple here and there .

Well glad I’m sitting a few days out, with all the “ nothing”reports . Sat afternoon and perhaps all day M,T as they look good . Just shot three bolts, 20,30,40 yards may use the Ten Point a sit or two coming up , depending on which stand I use . I really want to kill one with the Xbow, but also with my academy trained Elite !

Every single hang on and when I used a climber ,from the first step up . Ladders I Clip in on top ,but considering rigging those up as well . My daughter has had two patients for surgery’s due to tree stand falls so far this year, these aren’t guys who came to ED to get a cast, but ones admitted and had to have surgery’s, add in the ED visits and all shifts and all hospitals well , you beget the idea. One was a ladderstand fall too . I have a good who friend is scheduled for more exams, after a short fall when the bottom of his climber shifted last week . That said I tie off a rope both above the stand , and near the ground ,so I can slide the Prisik knot up as I climb . The closed loop you tie the Prusik out of should be of a smaller diameter then the life line too . I have another friend who broke his femur , and it seems at work at least one Guy a year would fall , each year . I had a source of rope from work, which eased the pain( $), every time they changed our bail out system they let us keep the old ropes, and I’d get them form as many guys as I could . If the rope is tied off at the bottom , it should slide up with only one hand coming off, steps .

What’s a coon pelt bringing today ? A good friends father and three sons all trapped ,back in the ‘70s when I knew them back then a big one brought $35 or so . I used to,pick,up road kill and did alright . Minimum wage was $2.35 and I was getting $10- 20 for a road kill .

Well If it was legal that would mean the numbers of them would be high enough to allow hunting , no ? So,what’s the big deal then ?

Zippo , seven hours over last two mornings ,one deer an ok buck , turkeys all over the place . My woods is an island in the middle of crop fields , as far as one mile of them to the south . Once things are all cut , then fields turned over , a number of them book rooms on other islands , ones that still offer food in the all inclusive plan . Only 8 or 9 sits so far ,will really make an effort starting Sat afternoon , and our anniversary Nov 4th has paid off more then once .

Killed a number of bucks with my bow in this spot , but when I got rid of all my hang ons never put a ladder here till two weeks ago . Way over grown this is my only opening I can shoot around entire stand .

Decent 8 hung out for 20 minutes . Wide but spindly rack . At first seemed like he winded me, he stopped turned and ran a few yards . Then came back and continued on .
