According to his post, ten miles was walking on the road back to the truck, and much of the track , he was “ kicking it into high gear “ to catch up to the buck .

The tv stations and weather apps , have Friday’s overnight low ranging from 18 to 27 degrees . I’m gonna go with the station that says 27 !

I’ve never had a job where it was easy to get the day off, especially when it was on Monday and I worked a M-F job . Then on the FD , we picked all time off a year in advance and Senior guys closed it out , about the time I was high enough on the seniority list I got promoted and back to the bottom . But it is like all holidays rolled into one .

My Dads total hunting gear, could fit in one coat pocket . That warmer, a knife , compass, and a length of cord . That was it outside of a gun .

They’ll need more then that picture alone to get anything more than a trespass charge I’d think . My one friend climbed down and saw that his tree had been cut most of the way through ! A nearby camera had a video of a guy walking past with a chain saw , and said saw starting up,off camera. Cops said not enough evidence.

So, he looses his footing and his foot gets caught on the seat ? And just how is his upper body attached to the stand ? I guarantee the rescuers took photos, as that would make a great training class .

I’d bet he lives very nearby , and a hunter , camo hat, gloves and possibly boots . Not to smart , the orange shirt not the best for sneaking around , and you gotta know there’s multiple cameras around , and that many have an internal memory . Being in the local paper ,shouldn’t take to long ,that’s a good picture.

Ive owned Surefires for many many years, GREAT lights, made in USA, awesome customer service , but Fenix ( and many others) have closed to gap, for far less dollars .

I’m with Jerry ! I won’t take another “ good buck “ because I already got one and two would be two, that my daughter and friends that may come with me won’t get a crack at . It would be greedy I think , I must be getting soft . Now if the biggest buck of my life walks by , that’s another story .

Fletch, you and me both ! Daughter hates the cold no matter how much she layers up . The heated hut, is an easy walk, and the camera there that I checked last Sat. was out 5 days, and had bucks there in the morning 3 out of 5 or 60% of the time .....

There are/was two with way bigger racks around and very large bodies as well. I’m no trophy hunter, and most years Im happy with a nice 2 1/2 , and don’t always get that . Some years I luck out though . good luck everyone .

Between the weather and having a good buck already from bow season , my anticipation is more for going out with friends then pulling the trigger, this two week break sure was nice . Plans are sit sat morning with daughter in hut, for two hours go home come back by myself for last two. Sleep in Sunday and sit last two. Monday hunt “ all day “ with my friend Joe, but mostly looking forward to going to lunch with him. After that I’ll go when I feel like it , nice days of low wind and moderate temps. My spot is an island in a sea of crop fields, very little pressure , it hunts good well into gun . I should probably wash my hunting coat and bibs, I sweated my a$$ off in them snow blowing yesterday and may have spilled some gas on the legs .

Flashlight junky here . Own Surefires , Steamlights Olights , Fenix , Four seven, maglites and on and on . My go to is a Fenix PD35, multiple settings ,from just enough to light a path, to enough to light a football field . That said I can’t recall how many years it’s been since I had to track at night ,but it’s nice just in case. .380 in pocket holster ..... For Deer I sometimes I carry S&W 586, .357 with the old Black Talon rounds . In the, past I hunted with a Dan Wesson SS 8 inch heavy barrel . 44. Mag, open sights , that was one soft shooting .44 mag !

Oh TF, somehow those Other Half beers I had set aside for you somehow are no, longer full ! Good thing their brewery is right down the road from where I hunt .

My clothes are a mish mash of box store stuff ,generally do,ok . Sat. Morning since my daughter doesn’t do well in the cold ,we’ll be in a hut, bringing a second heater . Not drinking a Yeti of coffee is out of the question . Sunday morning to cold not going in the morning .

I use an old sledgehammer handle , and even with it off and disengaged which I do every time , once jam is clear auger can still move a bit once pressure of jam is off it . Someday I may share how I know .... Today I got a wire dog lead wrapped up in mine ..... easy fix and didn’t shear the pin .

My experience with both Subaru’s and lesbians , is that it’s the Forester model that’s favored , TF drives an Outback , wise move or error in judgement, I dont know .
