Have all the squirrels died of Covid?
Nomad replied to Slickfins's topic in Small Game and Predator Hunting
Trapped 16 voles this year, this Chipmunk kept trying to cross the walk . It turns out it can easily dodge a brick thrown by me, but the water hose not so much . -
The most controversial buck ever ! Which is why I posted it here , Rompola certainly Marched to a different drummer , but I was pulling for him .

Yep going back a couple weeks I’d have 6-8 at a time in my front yard burying nuts . Now few and far between , the mast crop in my yard is done . -
Mitch Rompola for the win ! Huge news for Michigan!!! ROMPOLA buck is finally official! After the expiration of Milo Hanson’s cease and desist letter in January Mitch Rompola has resurfaced and will enter his buck with B&C reclaiming the world record once again. Congratulations Michigan. The buck grossed 220 6/8” finally netting an impressive 216 5/8”!!! #rompolabuck#worldrecordbuck #hugedeer #bigbuck#whitetaildeer #deerhunting

I should have known that ! Saw an interview with Doohan , he said he was basically playing himself , “ 99% myself ,1% accent “ . he was wounded on Juno beach during the D day invasion. Fascinating….

I don’t get the reference, but James T is my screen saver on my phone , I’d defer to him in battle . I met Scotty ( James Doohan ) had him sign my book “ beam me up Larry .” I’d gladly take any shot from Bones as well .

Nomad replied to Nytracker's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Rochester is per capita ahead of Chicago in shootings . Bail reform isn’t helping things . -

Wonder how long NY hospitals can use fill in nurses at 40k per month plus thousands more for all travel and living expenses so about 50k per month . I know it’s crating resentment among the hospitals own nurses working side by side with them as well , they should hold out for a bigger OT incentive

What’s interesting is the new buyers , seem to be ok paying today’s prices as it’s all they know . Daughters fiancée thinks 60 cents around for his AR is a good deal . Hopefully in a couple years supply comes back , but I’m not looking for a large price drop .

It’s sure going to be interesting proving a religious exemption . We’re “ Catholic “ but haven’t been to church in years ,although they still send me monthly envelopes and Catholic newspaper thing , so I could show them those .Our kids were raised Catholic and made all the Sacraments , so they should be good to go right ? Or as Mrs Nomad just said , I don’t have to go to building a few days a year to be a Christian with Christian beliefs . Can’t wait for the Gov. to try and define religion and what a church is …..

How much ? It’s $21 online for ball, about the same as where I go,here .

Can’t really shoot with my reading glasses, just dint work well . Green 20 yard pin is deadly till 25 , I’d need be I’ll just hold high . I thought of a single green pin sited in at 25 and see how things went , but I’m not touching anything two weeks prior .

Me too, but we won’t do business with anyone who asks to see it , as long as there’s options . Going to try and ride it out in NYS through hunting and Christmas, then FLA for the winter . So sister inlaw called she went to the eye DR. They took her BP 130/115 . That’s not good, called her DR, for first available appointment , JAN 24 th .ha ha only 4 months away just wait till more in healthcare walk . Glad I only see a DR every five years or so .

Funny you say certain light , I noticed a difference as I moved between the shadows and sunlight .

I’ve given that as a gift a few times , as a starter knife to non knife folks .

So much BS, Congress is exempt from the mandates , just like they only wear a mask when the cameras are on them . Ah but the sheep on the other hand …. And here’s a local girls soccer team , the district mandates masks on the busses at all times, except i guess when the coach leads them in a tick toc video ! Which the school district gave a “ like “ to . Rules for thee but not for me ! Can’t take any of them serious , from the Whitehouse to the school house .

So I’m going with my eyesight . I had LASIK years ago and it’s been wonderful, but the need for stronger reading glasses has increased . Today it seemed my yellow 30 yard pin was not only blurry but at one point a double image . The green 20 yard pin seems ok as odd as that sounds . Tried using the readers but that didn’t work well . Later I’ll try my sunglasses as they change the colors , ( brighter ) when I use them normally. Canceled Kring Pt as the forecast was rain most of the days .

FYI , friend was in Cabellas Buffalo yesterday. .223, 5.56, .22, 9mm, 45, 3006 , 6. Something , that’s all he recalled . Lots of 223 and 5.56 less of the others .

This will effect us all , to what degree remains to be seen . Nursing homes in Roch. are no longer taking new admissions, including any from hospitals, one doesn’t have the staff to prepare meals . So they are contracting with outside food vendors , with all the specialty dietary needs, that should work well…. Talk is some may be releasing Pts back to families . This is not just nurses lol. It’s the guys who keep the lights on, the food prepared , lab workers . The ambulance company that contracts with Roch has been short staffed and running delayed and relying on outside ambulances to pick up the calls, which often doesn’t happen, for some time . They can I’ll afford to lose any more employees, or rather you can’t . Wait till it hits the short staffed trucking industry.Tyson the chicken folks just mandated the vac . They have 1300 drivers only half of which have the vac. This is an industry wide poll . Glad we’ve got months of food, and supplies … publication Truckers News, 30% of company drivers said they would refuse a mandatory vaccine and force the employer to fire them. Another nearly 17% said they would claim a medical or religious exemption, while 16% said they would quit. Almost 7% said they would comply and get the vaccine. About 25% of drivers polled said they had already been vaccinated.

Went down today, moved two, ladders , put one up , that required a lot of chainsaw work to get into a thicket edge . That will be a gun stand to cover a field and some mowed paths , there still needs to be some trimming there . The other is sitting on the ground near where bucks would cross a bean field in the past and enter the rear of the woods . Ill,need a couple sits on that field to pin down where they cross . A couple more shooting sessions with BHs and I’ll be set .

Interesting are you familiar with Lineage ? My nephew is their CFO .

Well there’s still a large shortage and now all the Johnny come lately hunters are scrambling for ammo just before the season , compounded by a coming ban on Russian ammo ( 30-40% of all ammo sold here ! ) So the looming ban has got guys buying any rifle ammo, they see . I’ll be buying more ammo tomorrow, then hitting up BJs to fill in gaps in our pantry . What are you looking for ?

that’s to fool the deer, I’ll place them at 15, and the deer will feel, safe as they know I don’t shoot 30 yards .
