Couple years back NYS sent me my new boat registration, the letter with it said it was printed on waterproof paper . Apparently it was ink proof too as it all “ disappeared “ the Post office had to open it to try and read my address ,then write it on the envelope.

I had to pick all my time off in November for the following year ! Hunting was easy bow , first week or two of November, then opening day if I wasn’t already off that day . Rinse and repeat.

I got a great feeling donating about 30 pounds to a family from Moog’s church . Honestly it seemed they needed the meat, where for me it’s just a benefit from a hobby , that I try to eat up before the next season .

I’ve had two,or three deer act like they were never hit with an arrow . First one a doe 25 yards pass through , she was feeding, lifted her head up,looked around then resumes feeding . Couple seconds later starts to stumble, .then runs into a tree . It was afternoon so it didn’t wreck breakfast .

I’ve a thought how’s about these travelers drop idk 60 pounds or so . My God the single best thing after quitting smoking a person can do health wise . Two buddies dropped 50-60# , they are off any meds they were on, move better , feel better , look better and apparently a major covid risk is removed .

And many here now, don’t know the source . I will say, I took to following her leaf blowing trails idea . Absolutely dead silent walking , guests can find stands on their own , and I can see clear deer tracts and directions in it . I might just leaf blow the entire woods !

I’m vaccinated as well as my wife and our adult daughters too . Mrs Nomad also dropped 20 some pounds ( quit smoking put on 30 ). Our body , our choice . I know plenty of cops and FF who are not and support them 100% .

It’s all been covered above . I’ve bought from them perhaps five times since the shortage , just to fill in some gaps .

It’s going to be interesting, major shortage in health care workers now ,and nursing homes will be particularly hard hit , not that they ever were properly staffed . Care will definitely suffer , wait times increase , job burnout for those staying . Really adding to costs as well, filling in with travel nurses at 4 times the pay, and paying OT out the ying yang, my daughter gets time and a half plus $100 for each four hour block , that’s an incentive to, get them to,work the OT, but after awhile that won’t be enough.

Rochesters two major health systems just sent letters to their employees, get the shot or “we” consider that you resigned ( so no unemployment) oh and no accrued vacation pay one says. This applies to work from home employees as well… I’ve only read one systems letter , not sure how the two compare in all details . 25% of the nurses said they won’t get the shot , currently the nursing staff at the hospital my daughter works at is down close to 20% . Edit. Here’s the other letter , I don’t have a copy of the other systems right now

It’s easier to hit those numbers when you’re young . Mrs Nomads 401, which is our largest holding , domestic stocks ytd 35%, foreign 25% ,but being balanced the bonds at 1.5% , with a 60/40 balance stock/bond drag the numbers down . Luckly for myself , instead of bonds, I’m in the general acct. of my deferred comp. and it’s paying close to 4% I haven’t checked my stock holdings, but our farm land is raising nicely .

Many are quitting and becoming travel nurses where the shot is not required, they seem to make out ok .

Mrs. Nomad, was a bit taken back that I bought Octoberfest beer this early , but here it is with my new Rick Hinderer Flashpoint , a slim light fixed blade , and a pic of her old horse barn . She’d also be a bit taken back, if she knew I stuck the blade right into the mantle …..
