  1. Google it . They want plasma from recovered covid pts. They use the antibodies for research or something . I’m sure your area has blood banks, research facilities doing it . Id imagine yours will bring two to three times to going rate ! https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2020/05/11/852354920/market-for-blood-plasma-from-covid-19-survivors-heats-up
  2. I was at Country Max, and they had two cases out, without lids and bands and some canning salt . I asked when they’d get more in ,turns out they have canning supplies “ in the back “ but consider it seasonal merchandise and need shelves for seeds, and garden stuff now .
  3. Anyone how’s had it here selling their blood / plasma ? I know a bunch of guys from one work place it blew through doing that . $100 a pop, twice a week, so $800 a month .
  4. Corn on three sides wouldn’t bother me in the least , here’s my spot next year . Yellow C is corn , as those were beans last year and every other year it rotates. The Red ? Is another farm, it’s been hay lately so it’s due for corn soon , below me you can see they alternate strips of crops, much will be corn. They still use the woods , they’re going to make their rubs and scapes in the woods as well as hit the oaks , go to bedding and look for does there . Sure they can hide in the corn, but they pass through the woods from corn field to corn field too . Phade what do you mean by tax scenarios ? That rising land prices equal rising taxes ? We haven’t seen that yet ...
  5. Ya $3500 an acre isn’t bad for AG land , Depending on access , size, shape ,drainage ,soil ,how close it is to the farmer who’s buying it and many other factors .
  6. Yikes seems high to me , I’d dump our 120 acres in Ontario county in heart beat for far less . Check this out 36 acres ,well, septic , box blinds , food plots etc . 79 k , you could come visit Doc and myself too ...... https://www.landandfarm.com/property/36_6_Acres_in_Ontario_County-10964614/
  7. Brad this is getting annoying ! I’m up to zero sheds found ,although I did find two old bottle / can dumps , got some old jars and will dig the piles after shed season . Tomorrow Webster Park, I found a crazy spot last week , just crisscrossed with trials and more droppings then I’ve seen anywhere ,had the wife and dog, so I’m returning solo .
  8. And I didn’t realize it till a few days ago ! Looking back 8 out of the 9 latest and best bucks taken in the last few years were in the open woods ,out of heavily use stands that are up year round , with leaf blowed trails to them . One change is. I’ll kill the first doe I see next year in bow . I’ll can that whole deer, I experimented this past year and canned a couple quarts of venison, outstanding ! Wife made stroganoff the other night with it ,just fantastic, the remaining meat was used in a soup a couple nights later ,also very good . No freezer needed, no thawing required , fork tender .
  9. I’ve given this some thought lately . So I hunt about 100 acres of a farm , hardwoods, a scrub field, that’s half overgrown , 15 acres thicket , ,hedgerows , all surrounded by crops . I don’t do food plots, alter the land , to alter their movements , use cell cams . What’s been most successful for me in 30 some years ? I sit in the open part of the hardwoods, mostly on a “ phone poll “ type tree during the rut and every year , I’ll get a good chance at a good buck as he runs recklessly through the woods . This year two * were shot out of the same tree,a big old ladder in the wide open . Each after does in broad daylight each just not paying attention to anything else . When I think back about all the bucks I’ve taken and when and where , that’s what’s worked the best . All the moving stands, to where I’d see them coming and going from and so on had very mixed results . This year , ll mostly just use the three in the open woods ,and not even try getting into the difficult spots .
  10. Interesting, I grew up,with a garden , my parents garden was 150 x 70 . Corn , beans , melons ,strawberry’s ,tomatoes and on and on , Dad took vacation time to work it , Mom canned and we had a large chest freezer as well . We had a stand at the road where we sold a bit . I have little interest or room for a proper one now lol , oh it’s cool and all and I really get the self sufficient aspect . I’ve got into canning , mostly meats , this year ill do vegetables but I’ll buy them at a farmers market . I’ll need close to 100 pounds just of tomato’s .
  11. He was here making a low budget movie many years back , and I escorted him anywhere he went , sat outside his RV on the set and so on . Interesting experience , I hang out with his main security guy, his cousin Tracy, a great guy ,a fellow deer Hunter , who died of a heart attack a few deer seasons later . Most of the filming was at an old church ,in a very bad area of the city,I was often shagging drug dealers out of the set ,one night a guy was shot to death and another chopped up with a machete about 50 yards from his trailer . I was always armed with my Glock 40 and a 3 D mag lite . Oh and his Victoria’s Secret model wife was very nice ..... I also taught him how to use the Colt Gov. Model 45 used in the movie ,although I believe that scene was cut . Oh the movies name is After Image. The cloth stickers that i put on the CDs are used to ID you , the lower left one was from a concert a year later at Darian Lake , I went as his guest , that sticker allowed me go anywhere , the autographs on it are from a couple young female backup singers , that I ate dinner with in the caterers tent . I just came across these CDs after many years and thought I’d share .
  12. Well if your grammar and spelling , are similar in those emails , I’m sure it makes a strong impact . Its all for naught anywho ......
  13. So on Oct 4th I signed up at Buds to be notified when 300 BLK came back in , I got the email yesterday . Only 5 months , they had a whole 89 boxes .
  14. I have enough trouble drawing my compound , but here’s a pic of a friends recurves out in Seattle, that you may enjoy .
  15. This is what I went by , no health issues ,young, not qualified workers . If they all got last minute shots that would otherwise have been tossed , that’s a good use of resources , under what’s apparently a very flawed system . If CVS has regular no shows, one would think they’d have a stand by list of old folks and those with comorbidites . No show at 10 AM call the guy on the top of the list ,tell him to, arrive just before 6 , I mean if the goal is truly to get it into the arms of those most at risk and all .
  16. I’d love to hear the other ways . We’re required to turn in our Dept ID when we retire , I had two... so I kept the most current one . But I in good conscience couldn’t use it to lie in this situation. I guess that could be one other way , for unscrupulous people . The silly forms are used to see that the most needing receive the shots first .
  17. How ? Here’s the questions from the screening form . I guess folks just lie ? seems like they’re taking spots from old folks who may need it more .
  18. Maybe ask how you qualified ? You’re young, not obese, I presume healthy, not front line worker etc .
  19. I figure I’m months away from a shot . Too young , healthy ( no RX meds ,or health issues ) not working . No biggie covid is something I barely even think about .
  20. 3 1/2 hours of walking looking for sheds, to much snow where I really wanted to look and mud everywhere else. To top it off very few pics on the two cameras that soaked a month .
  21. Lots of Subaru Outbacks set up, like that . There’s mollies that are cut to fit the rear windows . Pinterest has lots of good ideas. Well, I’m off for this years first shed hunt , your finds got me motivated !
  22. Well, seems I was a bit off. Just spoke with my nephew, he was getting $8-$9 a board foot a few years ago . Now he says it’s going for $2-$3. Big companies came through and bought up tons of old barns at stupid prices and filled warehouses, now there’s a glut of it and prices have dropped .
  23. Exactly, my nephew made a lot of money off that barn , it sells as fast as you can tear it down . That old barn wood is worth way more per board foot then new lumber , sell it and build with new wood and still pocket $$$.
  24. Sure the wife was out of control so I left and slept in the truck in a nearby parking lot .
  25. Ya Erie county is whacked . My daughter who lives there has my .38 co registered from Monroe county on her permit . When she moved to Erie , they said to send her permit package to Erie ,then they would review and call her in to decide etc. Monroe county ( where they only issue full carry ) said “ ya you can do that ,but the law says all she has to do is update her address and notify the state police ,and we can do that here and now for like three bucks .” Any competent estate planing attorney will guide one on how to handle the collection . Mine knew the exact number of handguns I owned, based upon his years of doing this .
