  1. Women historically used men’s rooms at venues where the lines at the women’s room was long and nobody was in the men’s room .
  2. I just hope we can apply the same to deer hunting ! I’ll use my 8 doe tags to shoot 8 bucks , because they clearly identified as female .
  3. Might not be there yet , but you can see it from here . All these type threads should be in the political section ,where one has to seek them out . I’m all, for off topic treads especially in the off season but perhaps they don’t need to appear at the top of the main page where most traffic is .
  4. You may enjoy this true story . We’re hunting in Montana , there’s a piece of BLM land that on the map looks, promising ,so we hunt it . We’re driving on the dirt road when two guys on horses ride up, one claims we’re on his land ( he’s a ,large rancher ) my friend an attorney who lives in the West and knows BLM land and access well , says well from those power lines for a mile that way is BLM land. Mr Big Rancher says but you had to cross my land to get here , my buddy says yes it’s easement to necessity, but we agree to leave , we were anyways . Now when we reach the town roads there’s a ranger station of some sort, so we decide to ask them if things are somehow different in Montana . We tell the green uniform guys our story, one says did he shoot at you ? No . Well consider yourself lucky , he says .
  5. ^^ look Lawdwaz’s wife became a member ....
  6. I don’t even check my numbers , unless the news says, “ winning ticket bought at Hegedorns .” That happened once , 9.8 million to some guy that doesn’t even live in Webster .
  7. Agree . I just joined up, there a few months ago , mostly because a local “ FireWire “ posts there , almost up to the minute as incidents are unfolding . It was nice to see what was going on . a month or two ago , I deleted Twitter . RIP Rush
  8. There two, general type of people , those who run to the store when they need something and those who store stuff at home . When my can of bee spray runs dry , I don’t put it on a list to buy, I just walk to, the garage and grab another . I like to have a few years of ammo at home , that way I’m always supplied , no, matter what happens . Oh and there’s talk of Biden banning imported ammo, which makes up a lot of what is sold here , he’s on record as wanting to ban online sales of ammo as well . Crap now I may have to buy more .... Don C thanks for, your posts
  9. Hum ,might have to buy a ML again .
  10. I’m not sure I’d take land locked land for free . I know people who’ve owned land locked land , a nightmare, lawyer fees, and years of battles . My good friend lives on a private road above the bay , four homes with access to the water with shared dock . The man who owned the land and sold off the four homes lots , kept a silver of land along the bay ,with zero access to,it , he’s now trying to sell it . My buddy constantly deals with realtors and clients trying to access it by parking in his driveway and walking through his yard . There is no access,no place to park let alone, walk to the land . The dope should have kept a right a way ,but he didn’t , I guess one could go by boat . I found land locked land in the town of Victor , I drive past it on the way to my land . I knew it would be good hunting , and a shorter drive ,and I could access it across a RR track ,still no way even for cheap .
  11. On a side note. The summer after graduating high school ( I actually did...) a couple friends and I went into the house painting business . Well one house we had to remove some single pane storm windows, so we carefully set them on the front lawn . Left about ten brown grass rectangles in the front lawn .
  12. That’s a good move, my buddy would hook one up for free for us, yet we’ve never done it . Our gas fireplace runs with out power, just no fan , but it still heats the house ok . I have two buddy heaters ,with about two dozen one pound tanks and an adapter hose to use a grill tank . Battery operated led lanterns , tons of led hand lights , battery radio , oil lamps , oh and a Coleman stove . We did 11 days with no power when we lived in the city after the ice storm of ‘91 , and two days here in I think 2007, ‘91 was the , learning experience. ive got two very good coolers to transfer our deer and elk into and store it outside if need be . Our basement pantry along with what’s in the kitchen would feed us for about two months ( venison would last longer ) , 30 pounds of canned chicken which needs no electricity is part of the pantry . Our 25 year shelf life Patriots Supply food is not counted in the two months . Of course a good supply of cleaning products , my OTC med, a few dozen batteries of each size needed is on hand as well . A Honda generator to use when we boondock camp with the new RV is on our list to buy shortly ,along with a solar panel as the RV is wired for it now . Good topic . oh and Belo, I believe you live in Penfield if you’re close to Moog . The welcome to webster sign on Fivemile is about half a mile North of Moog’s Street . That area pays Webster school taxes and kids go to webster schools , but it’s Penfield .
  13. The anti gun groups are quite pissed that Biden hadn’t moved forward on gun control, yet and were exerting pressure ,so he tossed them this bone . He faces a struggle to get anything meaningful passed , we shall see .
  14. TDS ,is so strong with many , it continues to drive large portion of their lives .
  15. Knives you say ? Top my most currently used one ,Old Timer Stockman ,carbon steel . Then my Case Trapper a true classic . Makes a gut pile from time to time . Ah my Schrade lb7, gutted my first buck, and rode on my belt on countless adventures, from canoeing the Yukon River, to hiking the deserts and mountains of the West, it’s been in retirement since I briefly lost it 15,20 years ago. It may come along with me this year ,seems fitting . Then then classic Puma White hunter , always thought it was a cool knife , so I bought one . A bit much for dressing a deer, but I sling it on my belt from time to time ,because I can ! If I ever kill a big one ,I’ll use the cleaver ,made for me by a friend of my daughter in Buffalo , a Fathers Day gift actually.
  16. And lucky ! Not many combustible materials in that room , not sure what would have happened if the box took, off . Nothing much else near it , glad we didn’t have to find out . I had a “ clue “ as many years ago her sister brought one of the big round ones outside ,in an effort to watch herself on the trampoline. It burned a hole in the trampoline. oh speaking of her sister she called me five minutes prior , to me getting the box photo, she was walking by this house fire in Buffalo at the time . Odd coincidence.
  17. Daughter sends me this pic. It’s her makeup box in a spare bedroom , i called her and asked “ any curling irons or straightener on that table ? “ “ nope don’t own one . “ Told her leave everything in place and I’d be by in the morning , although I pretty much had it figured out already , just needed to confirm my suspicions. Walking up stairs I told her fiancé, “makeup mirror “ walked into the room and there it sat facing the box . See there’s no blinds or curtains in that room and we had some sunny days last week , put that with the fact that there’s always one of those mirrors where they paint their faces , along with the placement and smoldering type of burn , then eliminating heat sources ,smoking ,cooking , electrical sources left one thing . Mirror faced South window a few feet away , and was in direct line with the box a few inches away . The suns rays concentrated on one small spot and as the Fire smolders and burns away the cardboard ,it makes a hole then the rays aren’t touching it anymore and luckily it then went out .
  18. It’s a perfect storm of covid , ( slowed production , shut downs , nothing to do so some started shooting more )then riots , defund the police ,all added to current gun owners stocking up and created 8 million first time gun owners all needing gun food . The election of Biden undeniably added to the demand, shops across the country reported lines out the door on Inauguration Day, a bit late but that’s the fact jack . But most of the Biden demand happened well before election night . It’s a four year occurrence , anytime it, looks like a Dem might have a chance the demand increases . One ammo company spokesman, I recall saying the typical gun owner buys a couple boxes a year , that weighs heavily on setting production schedules . Of course Gov. contracts , competitive shooters etc buy large amounts , but imagine all those two box a year guys now trying to buy ,6,8,10 boxes . Or in others words 3,4,5 years worth of ammo in one year . I don’t expect to see ammo lining the shelves just sitting there for at least a year , well except for my shelves .
  19. Wow, to bad you’re so far and we already built one at my daughters ,that would have worked nice I think .
  20. Every night around 4 or so this woodpecker would land on this tree , go in one of the holes then look out at me in my stand .

  22. No need to be a doomsday prepper , but taking care of ones own is always a good move. Today I added a couple cases of canned goods to,our supply , and placed another order with Patriots supply . More Gold Eagles will be bought next week .
