So while I was having a 3rd cup of Java this is what was happening in front of the blind I sat in yesterday ...seeing nothing Cams right in front of the blind, on the mulberry tree...Oh well both look to be hens. Ya I know dates off, my doing but times right...Maybe the boys will show in the snow tomorrow...yes very foggy out there cold front on it's way.

When this agreement was made between us and Canada weren't the people choosing to live on these shores warned of flooding?...I believe so. I'm sorry I have to be cold about this, for we all know who will be helping to pay for the clean up so these people can rebuild and continue to enjoy their life style. I have a farm up hill from me contaminate my drinking water and the state tells me tough. Well users in NYS are on their own and athere is the right to farm protecting the farmer. 3 years on bottled water.

Glad they missed..I had 2 Canadian geese fly into my windshield. Took out the windshield on the drivers side.. What saved me was seeing their feet and dropping sideways to the passenger side. I took an ambulance ride to the Canadagua ER the van got towed. Sheriff tried to accuse me of speeding because of the extent of damage. The guy that called the ambulance and police was taking out his garbage and saw what happened. I was under the 35 speed limit with my brakes on before the hit. Man glass in the eyes and the seatbelt left a hell of a bruise when I pulled side ways ducking. He told the cop he couldn't believe I had hit my turn single and pulled over so fast...Lol my hand hit the lever and my dodging right naturally pulled the steering wheel right as I slammed my foot down harder on the brake pedal. People don't realize how much damage such a bird(size) can do. BTW my wind shield didn't brake in little square pieces it made long nasty shards and it's butt made a funnel impression right at face level. Things to think about....

Looks like the on line store is a no go now...Will have to use my last 20.00 at the store next week.

God bless you all out there. I woke to a down pour and turned off the alarm. This is suppose to be enjoyable. It's drizzling, foggy and dead calm right now. I can feel the temps dropping already.I almost feel bad for not going out and trying...to put one of them out off this miserable weather...

What's on the agenda to improve your hunting this coming season ?

Ya I kept telling Mr B I wasn't picking it up and getting a perfect sight like with my cross bow..which I'm dead on with. It was causing me to lean in and my shots would be high rt. . Well I suggested measuring both stocks then stock to scope. It's was mounted to far forward and needs to come back. This will need a new set of scope mounts from what Mr B says. Any ways I have a couple of great rifle spots now. One's I feel safe with even though there are so many hunters around Me. It's difficult not to be in a sky line type of situation on many open distant shots here. But now I several that are distant but back up to a high ridge or thanks to ma nature taking out all those saplings a hill side. -
I think they changed the formula or the concentration in their pads...I always counted on the thermacell for black flies and now your right...they laugh at on the way to my tear ducts...

Since I started making brush pile fence my rabbit population has exploited...I have 2-3 bunnies out feeding right under the deer in the clover plots nightly. -

Henrietta is closing 9/1/17. 10-30%off around store except guns. There is a freeze on all rewards points on cards now and rewards out there are good for about another month. They do not know what is happening with on line sales...Just ordered second Cabelas card for Mr B. Will stop using Gander then pay off and cut up.

glad I'm not the only one to do that...lol Just means we'll have better luck next time Actually I did just a couple of seconds later....but now want a bigger bird...

OK just noticed that Overton's...

Doesn't NYS DEC have rules about fully enclosed(I'm assuming high fenced) properties...Like, for one thing you mentioned stocked..They are REQUIRED to remove all wild wht tail deer from the enclosure and there needs to be permits issued to fully enclose such acreage?...Also they still need to abide by NYS hunting laws dates, times, and bag limits..unless they are a hunting preserve, business with the proper permits and business licenses provided by the state? Before jumping re-read, these are questions.

I went to the garden plot blind at around 8:30...set out two hens in a wild wind but put sticks in to keep the movement limited...Called in crows...actually lots of crows not one bird...it was pouring, high winds stayed until 10a.m....went out to checked cams ...and saw nothing...sure they are hunkered down in the swamp or the several pine woods around us...checked farm filed nada.. The trees may be a tad thin on canopy this year...a blanket of seed tuffs are on the ground and stuck to everything with the leaf clusters attached. Not holding my breath on soft mast any more...not looking good and no let up in sight.

First take a moment to read my post and figure out where you went wrong in your logic. Second You tried to slide in trophy buck hunting ,comparing it to trophy turkey hunting as some sort of jab. It had no place in the conversation because no one said they didn't want the kids out there early because of their "trophy" bird getting shot...not even the OP inferred that. You may want to pull your own panties straight . You haven't let go of the AR thread yet...

This is not looking good for hatches this spring...another year of tiny summer popular..though...looks like last years late points did OK.....ya typed poults both times there.

I am adding more plots but these near the big farm hay and crop field,a few hundred feet into the woods...setting them up as staging areas and feeding travel plot to more interior plots. I have an issue with the mounting of my 243 scope...why I haven't been using it much. I'm building a 5-6 ft platform for one of my dog house blinds. Need to put up a new ladder stand I got for X mas. Clean up and cut behind Rivers blind, continue building up all the new brush pile fencing. Get my Mission bow in for new strings and tune up. Plus a hundred other things with shooting and practice. -
Tree in that video had too much lean for him to even consider a cut with out a rope system and that wedge cut was way too small for the size of the tree ..IMO

If the weather would just cooperate! I could get so much done! worked a little in garden then finished shoveling the rocks/ moss on the lane way plot...I need to spray the weeds in the new plot in pics but rain and threat of rain has stopped that. pouring out now. Glad I'm not a farmer...they did take advantage of that early nice weather but now we have freezing temps and snow on the way...it's great for their canning peas...but not so much if they tried getting corn in. some beets maybe...the one crop farmer has beets on occation.

LOL Well TF got the gist of that post...typed on the kindle in between running to basement for laundry and kitchen for dishes...can't catch them all... This afternoon they were very quiet and out of sight...I believe the pines and low swamps are where they hid today...Right now there is a ton of food for them in the woods, it has been so wet all the worms are right at the surface...All the wild flowers are in full bloom and I noticed areas of leaf little moving with bug activity..Here water isn't an issue everyplace is wet with standing water everywhere. I'm sure they are on high alert though...this is pup,kit and what ever you call raccoon and and fisher litters, bobcats, bears out of hibernation, Even the bald eagles ,goshawks, and I have seen great horned owls here......all these animals are feeding young and wild turkey are on many diets. I put my carcass from Monday out in the woods...nothing and I do mean nothing was left on the bones today a pile of red stained bones over wing feathers...that's all that remained. some den ate well last night or the night before.

I did a count this a.m. I have just around the garden/around garden plots area16 apple trees in blossom. Out of that are 9 huge loaded ones. Then down the hill I have 6 and out of them 3 big ones loaded. Going to the swamp I have 5 and all of them are big. 27 of our apples could be producing ,If the weather coming in doesn't get them. This isn't a real biggie because apples up here are a dime a dozen and they are everywhere and on every ones property...having a lot of late and good holders in late fall helps though. All the trees are looking good had a ton of acorns last year on out reds so not expecting much this year..Hazel nuts are looking good though and right now there are so many wild strawberries in blossom all the critters should be very happy soon.
