I wish you and Jeanine the best of luck...things here have been the quietest I have seen in a good many years...Did get just one single hen walking through the plot I put the blind in...pulled card this a.m. and she walked through the day before I put the blind in...it faces the "pond area" a couple of hundred feet away. A bit disappointed normally I'm tripping over turkey droppings and my 2 best areas I have seen little to no sign...one had huge bear droppings next to a brush blind and the other those pit bulls have been running. I am still hopeful though the new guy who has hunters now also has kids and they are like clock work...every week end and a couple of afternoons a week...they are just ramming and jamming in their woods with a 4 wheeler and dirt bike...That should help keep them over my way...lol

I love raising frogs here...I think they are tree frogs I am not sure but they have filled up my buried bath tub watering hole again this year...The pond area has them as well ..but we loose a lot of those due to the water receding...the bath tub never has that problem.. it is the only watering tank I have that grows frogs... My little contribution to the habitat...I get lots and lots of frogs each season...and a coupe of hatches a season as well.

Can't watch that...from his position you can see something very bad is about to happen...I'm in for water having just felled several trees, need to get a rope for one decided to marry it's self to the outer most branches of another..long rope and the 100ft winch on the gator should take care of that problem... Oh so much easier then when I had to hook up the come along on a few over the year..Well water breaks over ...clean those up and spray trees and a few plots...hot out there today...

Because if it's like a lost deer tag you have to pay to replace it...Though if you can buy your license on line I don't see why they couldn't reissue a fishing license. Drivers license needed? Good Luck...I hate the DEC web sight...It's like trying to navigate a horrible maze... reminds me of the movie "Cube"

For one thing I never said I never wear hearing protection... I specified when I don't. That aside 5,10, 20, years from now...Well at my age I'll if still kicking around, I'll be living with ,by all accounts of his Dad, a grumpy old man. I won't want to hear anything for my own peace of mind...I'll get a hearing aid and claim the batteries dead when I turn it off... I also never down played the importance of hearing protection...though most here will have problems and the main "equipment" they'll have to blame are those ear buds and car stereos...I can hear cars coming up our hill from a half mile away from the back computer room with the peoples car windows rolled up...and that's a fact...

Raking done...last pics until I have a good growing plot...I got up in the tree stand, one of the first I built back when our son was 9 or 10...he's 31 now...This has always been a good spot got my first bow buck a 7pt, so many years ago from this stand..first pics are from the front...next 3 are from what I've been working on behind stand Sun was pretty bright and pics look fuzzy from my cell phone.

Actually over the years a few loggers AND local ER personnel.. a couple of surgeons as well.
-
Most accidetts are from land owners cutting downed tree tops from logging... our loggers actually went through and limbed our tops as part of the job. That was above and beyond and appreclated.

The troy and I got 1/4 if the garden tilled...I tilled in the WR going one direction and then back over on the cross. Now to let that sit a bit. Tilled the clover between the garlic plants from last fall checked the strawberries and they are looking good. Need to weed a bit of clover out and fertilize. Had a rabbit in there but from the strips of rabbit fur I found think a hawk.,owl, or Fox got it in the fence I installed around it...hard ware clothe...he dug under...That will teach him...Well maybe his friends...lol Cabbage and broccoli,Brussels sprouts spinach and lettuce will go in this week....I can row cover if the weather turns. One more thing out of rtf he way before turkey season.

Deer here will spook at a new set...So to avoid making any birds jumpy I'm setting foul weather blinds out early the new one is at the end of garden staked and tied.still deciding on the other. I have 3 New swivel stools to put in them and will test my Caldwel field prod in one tomorrow.how nice it will be not having to hold that gun up...May even use the cross bow. Though now I have to find their main roost..I have some 4 a.m. sits to do this week.

Worked on the plot yesterday and will finish up the raking today That plot is really greening up...I should be able to weed kill it this week and then rake in clover...then I have to get food garden work done... Took my walk with Angel this a.m. and checked the new cam over the WR that is adjacent to the new plot. The deer are following their normal path up and down that trail from the gully to the plot. Can you see them down on that trail in the back ground? Now normally they will come up out of the gully and hit that plot then go to sanctuary up on the neighbors...I want to avoid that with this new plot and the new trail plot I'm doing this year to draw them directly the the end of garden and boomerang plots...This loosing them to that neighbors sanctuary until dark has gotten old the last few years. I'm also trying to steer them out of the big farm fields closer to my upper line and the neighbors sanctuary. 4 new stands have popped up on the new neighbors place...so they'll be hunting hard along that south side of my property. The new brush pile fence along one section of my south line is now about 3 ft high...I worked on it this morning ...The interior of my woods is a pleasure to walk through now...with designated pockets of down fall for the doe to jump into when being chased and big downed trees to bed up next to. All this dragging of limbs and slashing has opened up the leaf litter and I have much more ground growth starting...honeysuckle brush dogwood brush the leeks and a bunch of other stuff. I have a ground blind in this area that I am raising up on a platform this year...It will stay in the same location but lifting it will open up my view to half my south line and down to my west line from the end of the lane way to the south west corner...then to the edge of the west side of gully bank. Amazing how much opens up with just 5 1/2' lift. It also clears a shooting lane directly into the edge of the plot I have those Tom pics in...

Your welcome, not much land in there but I know for a fact one 9.9 acre piece is in great deer turkey bear and open to bobcat now. Also good trapping. It's in the general area of camp. 8x. -
