  1. Ooopppsss did I just say that out loud...
  2. I doubt any of you would put a bag over her head before.........
  3. That's what those were...phonics?(ozonic' s)...I thought iconic' s (ozonic' s) we're some sort of shoe insert
  4. Never been a fan of Federals...I should say my Browning wasn't..big time jamming/ ejection issue. Why I went to Breneke slugs Then Remington Bird..started during Winchester turkey loads couple of years ago..Removing yt? on intros before that....really? Try that again Remington nitro's before that.
  5. PS ... Good God I can spell and do know the difference between buy and by....just c erected that twice...hmmm corrected! I'm one stubborn caught of a penny pinched...OMG..daughter!
  6. No ..he did those last year which is why I sent a letter to Winchester telling them they missed the boat not doing 20 's as well...me and a bunch of others. He bought a new 20ga and patterned the new 20's. ...you should watch it. He was very honest on the difficulties of shooting them close range without a scoped shot gun due to pattern tightness.
  7. Can't link it but Dr woods did his yearly turkey patenting thickest week. He used the new XR' s...wow!
  8. Which is so much better than last year's extended boat launch....Yes rough for the opener. It was a tradition when I was young and the creeks were so much better than now. A birthday tradition first with gramps then as a teen with boyfriends and when Mr B and I first got married we'd hit all the creeks up here and the Cohocton River. Start at the source and work our way to Cohocton. Sick days
  9. THANK FOR YOUR HONESTY...and I'm sorry for what's coming next. Also funny how no one considered just how smart the doe are....hang on tight now and good luck.
  10. Already have..but Mr B said the lakes are now looking GREAT
  11. It's been non stop rain since Thursday night. Yesterday the area I worked had two heavy flowing streams through it and The "pond" area is the largest I've ever seen it. I won't be planting in the pumpkin patch plot until June from the looks of it. Think I'll take a hike to the stream part of property today see how heavy they are flowing. Won't have to worry about early nesting this year. There is cold and rain due in all next week as well. The water table actually needs this so I'll deal with delays and be happy. .
  12. We,'ve been set like that for a few years now. The one we did have on the Pc is now in the kitchen with the fire stick for when I'm canning,or doing big cooking jobs like batches of cookies or holiday meals. With WiFi we can sync in tablets to both the bigger TV..He went with a smaller monitor when he up graded the system, but watches Netflix on it a lot...I have fire sticks on both the others. Cam pics are crazy on them.
  13. Just check nose and ears hairs...your probably too young yet though...have fun
  14. Mr B gets a free gallon of syrup and one of honey from friends each year...I have to say why bother with that...theirs is great and I didn't have to do it!..lol
  15. There are many many plants that due very well in acidic soils though not necessarily the best nutritive for what ever is eating them. lime is a molecule to molecule additive ...in that that is what needs to occur with the soil for it to raise the PH level, bind molecule to molecule. when you shallow till which is good for small seeded plants to avoid too deep a depth, though not all small seeded plants are equal...many have deep tap roots and extensive deep root systems ...all those tiny little root hairs need to be able to take up the needed nutrients at those deeper levels...if the the nutrients at those deep levels are bound up in cold acid soils ...having a good ph at the surface does you no good. Heres a good read on top to subsoil management.
  16. Funny you asked that...I have a striped maple, considered junk maple by the foresters that have come out. It's what they call a soft maple...anyways they are the best to do this with and I have one that is at least 9 years old still producing stems each year...I just Yank them off or cut them back each winter. I was just checking it out two days ago another good one is hophorn I do not like taking them completely out when opening the oak canopies. So I topiary them. Bass wood and young ash will do well for a couple to a few years. We have some and cherry birch , paper birch...but those are growing in my stream areas with the witch hazel and beech...few giant reds... That area is a work free zone. So you have cool, moist, acidic soils as we do? That's where they grow best with fewer disease /stress problems Not real tolerant of alkaline or warm soils ours are growing on the north side of the ridge behind the neighbors rather large stand of fully mature Norway Spruce...though we have had issues with the paper bark birch, borers killing some off, that said those came back, very slowly. I'm not sure I've know of anyone growing that many...curious as to why you choose that large a planting...I've also never heard of anyone ever trying to trim them to hedge form......I'll be interested to see how that works out. Here a good read on them. Ooopps the only Norway "pine " are pines growing in Norway...Spruce...I have wht. pine on the brain these days but my bad and caught /corrected....
  17. This one is easy.... takes Mr B and I about 15 mins...hey I'm the one backing up l Clearance has never been a problem ...easy for me to use and move around the property. Though I do prefer the JD track skid steer for digging...That I just back up as I dig for drainage work..So much easier and time saving. Though the tractor back hoe digs deeper. Can't beat stump removal and boulder removal
  18. Congrats and enjoy! Let me offer some sound advise from experience. Renovations...keep it simple and one small area at a time..make sure if It's electrical...more out let's are better with a solid layout plan Keep your stress levels down...nothing will raise them like renovations... Make sure the misses knows there is a lite at the end of that tunnel.
  19. Kp..Lol This dang things been on it's last legs for months..I can't imagine what it would do with a measuring app.!...Thanks for that heads up though. To be honest all trail plots are easy..New one 15 ft x lets say 450ft..easy square footage then knowing sq.ft. of an acre and subtract. Odd shapes..... ball parks are close.
  20. Sailinghudson...I have to say this....if you know a guy "hinging" trees big enough that he can not 1 push over buy hand 2 ratchet over with a complaint of a winch/rope set up They might be too big. He's either brave or just feels lucky using a tractor bucket..I personally do not want to see a tree trunk sticking out of my radiator ...nor chest when they snap off and back.
  21. We got our JD used 35 hp front end loader and a backhoe low hrs 2 yrs old trade in for under 20 tho total. There are deals to be had..Just need to know who a where to go...we had ourselves put on a call list for trade ins at a couple of places.
  22. I believe I was once referred to as delusional when saying a good many guys do not put their bucks under the tape... imagine my grin when moog made his honest post. For one thing the thought that knowledge of where the bucks came from would end up being a known PITA. out weighed any " bragging " rights" for lots of guys. IMO ...Seeing the amount of dishonesty in hunting I've seen over the years..these books have little meaning to me,which is sorta sad for the honest guys that need the recognition..
  23. Stone I liked a lot of your post ...BUT..have to disagree. With the monsters we have seen posted pre season by many on here, how many of those have you actually seen in the harvest thread. BTW..I can tell you with certainty you haven't seen the best of the best as far as big or even big racked deer. Most won't post those pictures. So to insinuate a guy shooting a mature deer buck or doe or even a big Tom is some how cheating or showing less hunting skill or time on the ground..Is pretty far off base...
  24. Was on the kindle last night...took 20 mins of correcting to post that..dispatch them all...ie try this again dispatch = didn't. dropped catch completely Land = parks Leave = leafs
