SB 4739 - Establishes the yearling buck protection program
growalot replied to Rebel Darling's topic in Deer Hunting
Biz... remember take 50 doe and you have the potential of those 50 plus another 50 -150 deer to add to them The following spring. Do that for 2 years and you'd have rioting from the farmers and insurance guys ..that 100 .00 would have to go to cover a fraction of the cost to hire the sharp shooters they'd run to... Perhaps just listen to the failures and Oh that's right repeat failure from the mid to western states...go to a one buck tag and force shooting competency tests every 5 years..to weed out the spousal abuse...want to guess how many ill or even dead people hunt in this state...Ones with debilitating diseases...give me a break stop putting band-aides on gaping wounds. also You guys are so willing to listen to other states biologists but you won't listen to your own... -
Going through cam pics...

lol........ I always saw an upside down reversed J...leave it to you guys to see a gun that's too funny. It's an interesting property with the very separate types of ground it encompasses. The big rectangle is actually 2 properties, 4 separate deeds. I should have extended the line under the arrow all the way through... It has allowed me to see a couple of new cut big fields that weren't there before...So That could be a reason I have had such a travel change for the last 2 years. We got a mailing from a company that does plane aerial photos...the in-laws had that done for their place years ago. I can pull up such good satellite. I see no need to pay for one. -

Chas..... I don't know where you've been looking, but that's been happening throughout this entire tread. The difference is the ones you guys have posted up have been addressed and discussed. The ones opposite your views have been in large part ignored. -

stubby..... let me re-post that link again...See that and a few others, and some of my links seem to be sailing by a few heads. The only ones making it through the blinders, are the ones they have been spoon fed as to their effectiveness everywhere. http://www.deeranddeerhunting.com/articles/facts-antler-restrictions-deer-hunting -

I decided to post the plane pic of our land... As you can see there is a reason I have so many people bordering us..that long 1/2 mile narrow strip is only 411 ft wide and has 6 springs that start a 1/3 way down that develop into 4 small streams with water falls and the swamp at the bottom...I hunt by sections because I can't just hope on over to the big piece when in the swamp its a long walk. I can hardly believe she got the picture but she used the farms to get her bearings to locate it for the picture.

I have the worst time with hiking boots and shoes but I have to say if her hiking is to have her bringing two pairs of foot wear have her try Dansko sneakers...they are water proof and I am so hard on shoes it's unbelievable ..takes a very short time for me to wear them out and have my feet killing me...Not in these it's been heaven wearing Dansko ..I wish they had a hiking boot/work boot line https://www.dansko.com/Womens/Footwear/View All/Paisley/Black Suede If she is doing over nights and is looking at hammock camping I just bought a great light well made double. packs the size of a roll of toilet paper and has a 660 pound rating. Fnova...but they have ones with the bug net attached....

I am nearly shot by a guy shooting opening day 20 mins before opener and the DEC officer had to be shamed into even getting out of his car to investigate...refused to go to the person I believed did it and even question him,Saying " No I won't go talk to him,you know he's just going to lie anyways." Then to add insult to injury says" You don't want to he the land gustople(sp?) Do you?" Some regions will need better training and attitudes for any new laws to have teeth....let us remember the 40 or so minutes before and after dawn /dusk shots reported every gun season... I absolutely know without a doubt it happens even more during bow..I report one such shot an hour into dark..he was seen with a full moon back lighting him...No one showed for over an hour....The problem needs more addressed than just laws and stiffer fines alone.

Here I go remembering past threads...what was that again..something about proof reading? "You cal a....." -
Core We are starting to see numbers like we saw years ago..I can tell you that is when people didn't complain about how horrible the hunting was and everyone shot doe. Some pretty fantastic buck as well. I remember when bow hunting buck would be roaming the woods all different time's of day searching out doe. Running them all around the woods. I got some of my best day pics of buck and doe right off my deck, even bucks fighting next to the house. I have high hopes for this season.

Son of a gun ...Time Out!...These threads always end up like this,so everybody take a breath and step back a moment. Remember it's March and a lull in most hunting seasons. A time when this site tends to go through a range of emotions from testy to down right nasty. Every word jumped on and more read in the blank spaces than the black words on the screen. If you've been here long enough you know this. WORDS....many have different meanings , many words sometimes can be used to discribe a single thing or emotion. Personal emotions can drive their use ,one word or another Thus personal opinion Sometime , Sometimes, personal opinions should remain so. SOMETIMES when read they should not be considered anything more than that and skipped over. Most times ,most posters realize this. Read enough and through out history you can see people that have written eloquently, but found to be much less than that in their lives off paper. The reverse has been seen as well. So wether a person chooses the word scumbag over arse doesn't make them anti hunting or elitist, there is a big gap between those two words. Get the point The thing about age...I may not remember what I had for lunch yesterday, but I clearly remember things like a few years ago Four season being called names for giving a strong opinion accusations leveled that people who know him would say untrue. I remember being called anti hunter,a liar, and crazy because years ago I had the gall to talk about all the trespassers shooters and illegal hunters around us. This at a time when it was still taboo to say openly. Then others started talking about the same type and worse things. There is a good reason for the discriptive phase surrounding the word Assumption. Also a good reason these threads eventually get shut down. They start out with good legs but the foundation rapidly disintegrated. Let's get a grip. -

Stubby I have no opinion on your stance one way or the other...Why? Because it is expected, but you have the guts to say it out loud...No different than what I said would happen years ago with cross bows, and then the guys started reporting seeing them being carried during the beginning of bow season. For every one seen we all know the probability of high numbers not seen. Like I said many pages ago..watch the increased sale of small sheds and truck bed covers. I expect that the harvest report will take a hit as well..time will tell. -

I'm waiting for the harvest threads when crossbow and this passes... -
Dear heavens That wasn't a personal directed post at you ...just pointing out things are only as difficult as the thought put into them.. building stands or blinds aren't for everyone..For one thing everyone doesn't have access to inexpensive or free materials as I do..Most don't have the time. Many don't view physical labor as I do. I relish in hard work.. I love building and trying new ideas. That said I was merely pointing out it doesn't have to be difficult. OK DISCLAIMER..do not take my posts personal unless I have used your "handle" or include a quote from your post. When I return posts in the form of questions concerning posts ..it's not to be condescending . It is to make all viewers question and think..My sarcasm is usually very easy to distinguish..ie..Did I make a wrong click and miss the hunting site and land in a menopausal woman's site. I seem to be hitting a lot of "feelings mines". Hope this clears a few things up

I have them around here on the site..can't pull them up from the kindle..I won't get the computer until the morning...look at the post where I put pics of young bucks in the buck protection thread..not sure which page. I'll check.
