    I'm glad I came out to my best friends house to hunt today,he was gonna put the new lift up with just his wife for help,I came in way early to lend them a hand.

    I saw the king of all d-bags shot a monster buck today. Driving down the 90 with his tailgate down and the head out far enough so that it was laying on the tailgate. They must have been moving somewhere today.

    Do you plan to then hunt with it past 40 yards ? I myself would be so nervous to take a shot at a deer from a distance I have never shot the gun at.

    My first thought was an infection from a bad shot or internal injury from a car collision. I texted him to call the DEC ,I guess he is friends with the local officer so he is gonna give him a call today.

    My buddy was telling me last night that he and his wife were putting up snowmobile stakes sunday afternoon and the nastiest looking deer he ever saw walked right past them and didn't care they were there ,really scuzzy,fur all ruffled up ,skinny beyond belief. Next thing you know his dog runs up and knocks this thing over ,the doe is screaming so he gets the dog and she stood up and continued to walk away . He would have shot it but doesn't carry a gun when not hunting . Any idea what it could be?

    I opt for the rifle during late season when I tend to leave the woods to cover the fields for meat , my 06 is more then accurate to cover any field I have to hunt ,I'm just thinking if I go to a larger slower round I will lose the accuracy that I count on with a faster round ,just figured smaller with the same velocity would let me keep the accuracy .

    I hit that doe saturday with my 30-06 ,I've already begun looking for something smaller, what an absolute mess it caused .

    We will have typically the same deer activity on our cameras during summer up until the farmer cuts the corn then it's outsville til next year for any buck spotting ,either in person or on camera.

    The first one I did,I decided to go after the eyeballs after boiling for awhile ,POP! It blew up in my face.

    The last 2 deer I took this late in the season were both within an hour either side of noon , by now they know the hunters leave for lunch or are kicked up by them leaving for lunch anybody else finding this to be true.

    Put bird in the center of a piece of plywood ,I like to use the cabinet grade berch, cook on 350 for 1 hour . After it's done ,throw the goose out and eat the plywood. I figured some of you heard that one before but an old timer at work just said it to me and I laughed my nuts off.

    My dad hits it with some garlic salt and maybe some montreal steak seasoning after he slices it and pan fries the slices ,he just trims out what he doesn't want while eating it.

    I pulled over one night to help a guy who hit a deer ,he used my phone to call the cops ,the cop knew to shoot in the head but the first 2 shots missed ,the third one he didn't turn his away from what he was shooting at. I never heard about the towing deal before ,i wonder what the bill is to have nys tow a vehicle off the thruway.

    I had just stood up and folded my chair up when i looked over my shoulder and saw the does in the field. I had not seen one in so long i had to make sure i wasn't going crazy.

    She was bigger then average ,unfortunately the 30-06 turned her chest cavity into stew , lost the heart ,took about 3 times longer then normal to get her dressed ,ive never had one that messy before.

    Congrats , are you gonna leave any deer in the woods for the other hunters this year? Is this number 3 for you ?

    I was just folding up the seat to call it quits when i saw the first doe going in and out of the brush, i saw the one i ended up shooting next , she was standing still and gave me a steady target . After i shot , there was probably 6 or 7 more white flags come up about another 30ish yards back in the field that i didn't even know were there.
