I like my house but out of room!
-
She's a trooper, so are you. Time for you both to rest!
-
Moog, you know we win some and we lose some but the fun thing is we live to fight another day. Keep head up, you'll get another chance at a dandy.
-
First time in my stand behind my house since getting my doe last week. Just maybe a big boy will walk into my arrow. Good luck all!
-
Tough situation, unfortunately it ends up a lose lose In my opinion. Are you close enough that the injured deer can run into his land? Are you concerned about your safety if you call law enforcement? Can you move your stand so he won't know you're out hunting. I see no great ending to this.

I do the same, Muzzy and replace them after each shot/kill. I do believe my muzzy would probably kill several deer pretty easily if they're good shots. The sharp blades allow for better blood trails though, duller blades allow blood to clot more easily. It only makes sense to replace them, cheap enough to change and will help for a easier recovery.

You did a solid. You probably didn't have to go that crazy but I would have. Great job and rest assured, this isn't on you.

My mesquite smoked venison meatballs from my doe last week. There is a hint of cherry in there as well. Bottom line, I like the taste too much, I need to harvest another deer.

It's a great time for it. I already saw massive scrapes.

I already do!

Grow, I was wondering the same as Turkey. 22 yards, you didn't need grunt tube?
-
Terrible summer for them. My Dog had a bunch, I did and my kids. We live in the country but I have well maintained yard, we pick them up in the short grass. However, the doe i shot last week behind my house had none visible. Be cautious, they're around this year.

Another great video. He explains how incorrect people and targets are on anatomy.

Grow, I was going to mention this and saw you already did. Make sure to watch all his videos. This guy is awesome...

Pulled my s/d cards and 95% of movement is st night

My Dad, Brother and I hunted all weekend. We literally saw 1 doe amongst us, she came through at 6pmmm. We checked 3 game cameras, lots of activity but 99% from midnight to 6 am and then nothing. Tough hunting with this past weekend weather. -

At times life isn't fair. My sincere condolences to you and his family.

Are you positive you did miss? The only reason I ask, you said jumped and then hunches over a bit. That seems like possible gut or intestine. With the arrow exploding you can't really check it. There would probably be very little blood. Crazier stuff has happened.

I'm off November 2nd-12th. Should hit some very good days.
-
Thanks everyone, I appreciate the responses. I do feel lucky with this one!

Normally I would say these temps would be detrimental to movement, however I'm seeing a lot (in my car) of deer 2 hours before dusk. With the last two mild winters im thinking they are getting somewhat acclimated to warmer temps. Bottom-line be out there when you can. They still have to drink, the tracks leading to my pond are ungodly. Processing is an entirely different concern.
-
Did not have time to look, was getting dark and I wanted to get her to the processor. Too warm last night.

It was not gut shot, stomach was intact. When I opened her unbelievable blood poured out. Had to be severed liver/artery.
-
I was wondering that too.
