Not a drop from nose or mouth.

Thanks, yep. Can't wait. Wrapped in bacon and smoked with Apple wood!

Yea I know, there was so much blood congealed inside her.

I shot a doe tonight at 6. As the arrow hit her, my stomach dropped, way too far back. She was quartering away but I can't believe she trotted off 40 yards and then literally fell over. Must have caught an artery, any thoughts? In the pic that's the exit so in truth the entrance would be a little farther back.

Sorry I couldn't post earlier, battery too low. Hunting in 9A this evening, shot a doe at 6:00 and got away with it.

I pulled my cards Sunday and had this yote 25 yards from the cabin at 5:00 pm.

Awesome job! I'm excited for you. Don't get down on yourself with the shot, it happens. As Moog stated, it gets easier. All of these hunts help with confidence. My first archery deer was a drop tine 5 point that i missed twice and finally hit in the femoral artery on the third. Nice job!

I hunt out of ladder stands only. By far my favorite. Make sure you buy the one that seat folds up against tree. I love them, if they have a railing, even better. I will lean against the railing for support, it helps steady me when shooting. Mine is two man, 22' ft high, full folding seat with railing that folds too! 10 years old, still safe but starting to rust.

I was wondering why he looked so thin too.

As usual, great posts. Thanks for sharing both the good and bad. I love reading your adventures. True sportsman!

Give him as much time as possible... 5 or 6 this evening. He can live 8+ hours shot in liver and over 12 in the gut. Good luck!

You can only control what you do, I give two $hits what anyone else does. Is it more ridiculous N.Y. sells it yet it's illegal or that someone uses it to their advantage. If it were to become legal how many hunters would then buy it. I often wonder if it's the illegality or gamesmanship that prevents hunters from using it.

Thats a fox doing a nose dive on those tick producing deer mice.

I shoot 67#'s, I'm capable of maxing my bow at 75#'s but I see no reason to. As some have stated, it's important to draw in a straight line. Also, when you are trying to draw on a deer in stealth mode after sitting in 30* temps all day, it somehow turns you into a weakling. Nothing higher than upper 60's for me.

A new experience... someone took my trail cam.

We've all had them stolen one time or another, if not, it will happen eventually. I hate to be a pessimist but it seems inevitable. The only thing i do to minimize my hatred for those pieces of $hit is purchase cameras less than $79.00. Unfortunately they still win. -
Yep, he's my favorite

Successfully self-film an archery hunt. But then again I would need the equipment.
-
Agree, the mass is sooo impressive! Awesome bucks!
-
Look at him struttin through all bad A$$ at 5:30 And it's only September. Go get him.
-
Let us know how they do when you shoot that nice buck.
-
Shoot so we can put the guessing to bed and get an actual score.
-
Maybe you need to crank one out first, you know, warm up, stretch things out... Lol, joking aside, Grow may be right, you might have something brewing. Be safe my friend.
-
Looks like you could be right. What are you shooting this year?
-
Not at all.
