  1. Pretty sure the forecast for the little area I hunt is "encouraging".
  2. Roll the dice; feel the top of the head sometimes for that disappointment.
  3. Seems as though that doesn't happen too often. That said, I'll make a bad judgement call on occasion and shoot a dink late in the ML'r season. They DO make great table fare though.
  4. I think that most don't recognize the mug on that very talented archer as mine.......That is the ONLY thing that resembles me, by about 17 miles!!!!! Jeremy's skills at PS are boundless.
  5. I’m coming. I only hope my dues check clears.....
  6. And now I have to confess..........I did have one other helper thanks to Jeremy K's "photoshop type" skills. Taco Tim never even saw the guy buzzing in some screws.
  7. 18 years ago I built a 8x12 shed in my yard to give me a little more room for stuff and a place to hang, skin & quarter my deer. Although it has served me well all these years my knees were asking for a little more height. The big deer are tough to skin as they are usually much longer and their heads are on the floor, making for some tough skinning. I decided to just add a 3 sided addition but 24" higher than the old one. With some help from a couple friends, it's just about done. Taco Tim helped with setting the walls, building and setting the rafters, and sheeting the roof. Another buddy helped with roofing. Friday afternoon my wife helped with priming then I painted it last night. I still have to put up vented soffits, trim the corners, build/hang the door then some interior lights. What should be last is hanging the hoist but I have a feeling that'll move up to near the top of the list.
  8. Think about that big buck sneaking in, heading to Canadice.
  9. I'm sure I'm over reacting but these people that don't own a shotgun (as opposed to not wanting to pack one for traveling) makes me pause.........are they versed in safe gun handling enough to walk among others and sometimes more importantly dogs with a loaded gun?
  10. I'm easy as pie with coffee; C&S, C only or black suits me fine. (one cream & one sugar when I go there) I have a guy at work that goes for 3 & 3, YIKES!! Another that is one cream and an espresso shot. Weirdos.......
  11. Only one I get too........... I used to get a pile of them over the years but interest and reading time is short these days.
  12. REAL hearing aids would probably help him but all the Mickey Mouse crap above would be a nuisance and take away film the experience. Your father must be relying on his eyes as he should. Good on him!!
  13. Mirrors, video cameras and hearing aids........gimme a break. You were all (mostly all) born with two decent ears. I sure don't want to be bothered with all the above while I'm on stand, that intense deep listening is sooo much of the hunt I'd hate for it to be unnatural. As always, YMMV
  14. I have a bunch of little ones; S&W 37 .38, S&W 342 .38, Beretta Bobcat .22, Keltec P32 .32cal, S&W Shield 9mm, the SIG P365 9mm and a Haenel Schmeisser .25ACP If you'd like to shoot any, holler. I'd meet you at Wolcott some night this winter.....
  15. Major shiit show at Land Pro.............that blows. As far as Drake's goes, I bought my snowblower from them last winter and that went very well. Also, my boss has done plenty of business with Tommy Drake and his wife over the years both in purchasing from them and them purchasing things from him. Me personally, I was involved in the construction of their covered front entrance a few years ago and it went well.
  16. Oh and congrats on getting a highly coveted NYS Concealed Carry Permit!! Oh and one more "oh"........this past winter I bought a Sig 365 and have been thoroughly impressed with it. I thought about getting a CZ 75D PCR a number of times but found them just a bit too bulky. The Sig is a perfect size and the magazine capacity is great.
  17. Are you aware of the public outdoor area in Niagara County? I've shot there many times since before and after joining Niagara County Sportsman's club. Here is a copy/paste from another site......... Alabama Swamps. Search Google maps for Bartel Rd, Newstead, NY. Free shooting between Noon and dusk.
  18. What's the story behind "getting back" your old CZ, different state?
  19. Sorry to hear of your deal..... But, when one door closes another opens. Good luck!
