  1. Dan those are some great animals. You did your homework and it looks to have paid off in spades! When you get a chance, you should post the two pics you sent in the PM the other day. I think some folks will get a kick out of them.........I know I liked them. Certainly they're are some very happy people in the villages that'll be fed for some time with the protein and usable products you have helped to provide. Grateful is an understatement......... Post some more pics when you get a chance. One more thing; you offered me a chance to come on this hunt as an observer at no cost other than airfare and incidentals. If I had a do-over, that Buffalo pic would be right sides (!!) up and I'd have experienced an incredible safari with a great guy. Remember folks, time is fleeting. If you have something you want/need to do, do it.
  2. I tried to straighten out the buff pic and the new iOS on the iPhone won’t let me.....damn the luck.
  3. Oh there's already been fawn shot, the crop eating little bastid! Lots of people here haven't a clue on Africa and the hunting there. That's OK, those in the know, know.
  4. That or a round of sporting clays??
  5. So Hart's plow pics are cool as long as they're legal? Right on. Last comment is yours, happily. I'm out...........
  6. No need to apologize.........I was just making (hopefully) constructive criticism. Maybe next time they'll be Facebook worthy.
  7. Too funny........ If my comment "Congrats to your friend but in the future, he should give a little thought to his staging of photographs. Tasteful this isn't and Ansel Adams he ain't. " is that painful to you and a few others, you need to think again. WTH is so hard about pulling the deer OVER the log and clearing out the tin can (?) and other crap in the photo? No big deal I'd hope........... Staging a somewhat tasteful picture isn't that difficult with a little thought. I didn't think my comment was that harsh but if so, suck it up. It isn't about being PC, it's about respecting the life just taken.
  8. Ringneck Preserve one day for sure...
  9. Pow, right in the kisser. Youll be tagged out by the time we do it anyway.
  10. Going to Red Osier tonight?? Happy Birthday........
  11. Nice. A job I love to hate. What's with the numbers on the packages?
  12. All I can say is Praise The Lord! You might have disconnected the main parts to the liver? Heck if I know..........
  13. I had a bunch of bad years when I went from the compound to the recurve/longbow back in about 1987. Sure, I killed a bunch until I went back to the compound in 1999 but I wounded too many. After I switched back I was consistently killing and not wounding. If you're going to hunt with (any bow really) traditional gear, you have to commit to serious practice, regularly IMO. I never said I was a fast learner........
  14. I wouldn't be surprised if it was just a prop...........
  15. Ha!! I had to add the pics from an email then photograph with my phone to upload here.......... She's a beauty Dan!!
  16. Congrats to your friend but in the future, he should give a little thought to his staging of photographs. Tasteful this isn't and Ansel Adams he ain't.
  17. Zag, that video just nailed it. Thank you for posting it......... With a very heavy heart, my condolences to all his family and fans. I've never felt anything like this for any other entertainer. I've been a fan for 40 years and the past few years I've been listening to his radio show on Sirus Satelite Radio and really enjoyed it. I had the pleasure of seeing him this past summer in Canandaigua and also got to meet Zag at the show. The show was great, Zag was just OK..... Just kidding Zag and you know that! Some reports are Tom has passed and others have said he hasn't but is gravely ill. Whatever it is it is horrible for many........RIP Tom Petty
  18. Saturday morning I had to run up to work for something and took my bow & Block with me. I figured it was a nice morning and wanted to stretch a few shots out when I could. The boss was there as the showroom closes at noon. He said "hey, mind if I take a couple shots with your bow?" I VERY reluctantly said "ok....." You see, my boss is not a hunter, shooter or anything even close to it. As far as I know, all he is ever shot is a .22 maybe once or twice ever and a xbow 3-4 shots a couple years ago. He is very jerky about stuff like this and as we were walking back I said he had to shoot at 6-8 feet as I was afraid he'd miss the Block by a mile and snake one under the grass, gone forever! Actually, that wasn't my real fear. I was hesitant because I could see him yanking the bow past the draw stop, releasing the entire bow or any one of 37 things that could monkey up my bow. NOT what I need on September 30. If it was 6 weeks ago, no problem. I just was awfully nervous....... He watched me take a few shots and was blown away by the release, he said "WTH is THAT thing?" That did it for him, he said he'd pass on the opportunity but it looked too complicated. Phew...........
  19. For Christmas, ask for a Ipad instead of a new bow/gun/dishwasher/tractor/pond/drag etc etc. PLEASE........
  20. Atta boy! Details on shot placement, distance ran etc when time permits.
