For years I used Bohning Fletch Tite glue for my feathers/vanes. Probably 10 years ago I switched to Saunders NPV and the results have been excellent. For gluing inserts into my Easton ACC's or Goldtip carbon shafts I'm using a Bohning hot melt stick glue that is blue colored. It was recommended to me by Roy at Nick's I think but I'm not positive...... For years before that I used some other kind of hot melt glue that was a brownish yellow color. I've been making fletching my own shafts for 30+ years and enjoy the heck out of it. Actually, from about 1987-1999 I bought raw cedar shafts and finished them with stain, poly, dipping, cresting and then fletching/burning all the feathers, made from gobblers I killed. (yea, I bought some feathers too ) I know, too wordy.........

Are you asking me to get up and go check? OK.............................hang on.

Pretty soon somebody will come on saying how many deer they're seeing now.........maybe they have a great spot where they can see for a great distance in a hedge row or something. That's fine......... The thick foliage in the woods now knocks us woods hunters for a loop as ya can't see squat! The heat isn't helping us hunters now and the deer have food everywhere. The need to breed is coming and then along with the colder temps to keep us happy things will be heating up, so to speak!

If you have confidence, don't worry a bit. EVERYTHING changes in two weeks..........................

I pried my azz off the couch this morning.......reluctantly. The Mrs had to work so I headed out to my East Aurora spot to snoop around. I called and told the landowners I was coming to hunt unless the winds were as strong as they were predicting and that if it was too windy, I'd come out a little later in the morning to poke around. After a couple cups of coffee I made it there by 9am. While cruising out the 90, I took the entrance to the south bound 400 and saw a GREAT buck. He was only an 8pt but he was a stud. For guys familiar with the spot, I was west bound on the 90 and the buck was in that little mowed area parallel with the old railroad tracks. There's always deer there............that buck pumped me up! After my walk (that yielded little new intel) I took a big long loop over through West Falls/Orchard Park area and then ended up back on the 400 at Transit Rd. Only saw a doe and fawn and can't recall where they were, not that it matters. Got home; washed and WAXED my truck. Been meaning to do it and like to do it at least twice a year.......cross that off the list. A PB&J chased by a bottle of water then put in a load of darks in the wash machine, now some football. Hopefully get two more loads done, dried and folded/hung before the end of the game and momma gets home. Then make dinner...........

Cemetery in Williamsville had a rash of those impaling deaths and people were going crazy. Somebody designed a "C" shaped guard to go OVER the top of the point and it was supposedly effective. A group of people were raising funds to have the entire perimeter of the grounds all tricked out with the guards. I never heard anymore about it and the last I looked, only a portion of the fencing was done. Tough way to go for such great creatures.........

My HHA sight gathers so much light it amazes me...........in the slightest amount of light they are still "lit".
