  1. You cancel YOUR trip for this and I'll buy for you, me and Pygmy. The big decision then is going to be what scope am I putting on my bow? Deciding between cartridges would be just too much drama if I chose to take a long gun. Maybe I'll just do that hunt with a pistol........................THAT'd be a hoot, eh??
  2. Mulch? Damn man, do you use a harness and safety line?
  3. Good question..........I don't think any of my platforms are higher than 16-17 feet. If I think of it, I'll bring a tape with this fall on a couple sits.
  4. Between the Subaru and the Honda CRV, how do the prices compare when comparably equipped?
  5. But if Subaru built trucks, I bet they'd be sweet.
  6. Very loyal following of Subaru owners. Seems like people I know swear by them................
  7. More like "out of this world".
  8. Election week never fails to disappoint.........always a good time!
  9. You should be in good shape.....patience my boy, patience.
  10. Same here, any less than 3 is NFG for me. Got the t-shirt too. I had my NULA 7mm-08 trigger (Timney also) down to a VERY crisp 2lbs. and it cost me a huge hog. I had the gun on the window ledge of the elevated blind I was in and was lining up the shot. I wasn't very comfortable with my body angle on the gun and just tried to smooch up a bit in the folding metal chair and I must have JUST ticked the trigger and BANG-O, a shot into the mud at the feet the big boar (not sure really but it makes the story more dramatic) hog. Maybe it would have happened with a heavier trigger but I don't think so. Heck, it could have been a bit less than two pounds, I don't recall for sure. And yes I do have a trigger pull gauge, made by RCBS.
  11. Darn shame he got hosed on the brow time thing.......he'd be a real beauty.
  12. I've got some unscented laundry detergent I use for everything but my wool. The wool gets done fairly often by Mother Nature, that is all. If I had a place to air it out adequately during the season that'd be about all I'd do. Since I don't, most of the time they hang in my basement. Sometimes they just are in the back seat of my truck during the season.........
  13. I killed a couple doe with a Remington XP100R in 269 Remington I bought from Pygmy. This was a few years before we could use rifles in the counties I hunt. After they legalized the CF rifle, I moved the gun down the road..........
  14. Thanks for all the responses...... I decided to eat a sandwich instead, I'll stick it out through the end of the game now since I got no damned guidance and have a nicely filled belly.
  15. Should I pull the plug or keep watching? I have to pay some bills and do that in the basement. Maybe mow the lawn or wash the truck later? Are those things time better spent? UGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH.
  16. You guys must be asleep at the switch; damn this almost squeaked by.......... Happy Birthday Sodfather!! What's on the board for the REST of the day? Hopefully it's a great day........
  17. From the treestand last fall I killed my buck with a similar shot to your shot #1, as far as I can tell. It was a devastating shot and the buck was dead in maybe 6-7 seconds, in sight. Either #1 or #2 works for me from the stand..............

4 fillet to a bag to a bag please........ Nice going there Wild Thang!
  19. Is that the tail hanging out to the right in the second picture? It seems kind of long??
  20. I remember that buck (pics) from a few years ago. Probably in the top two or three I've ever seen for typical bucks. Did you get any particulars on him when he was killed. I'd love to know....... And, all the best of luck on shooting his off spring!
  21. More importantly you said the Weatherby was decent and Remington and Winchester were not decent. Don't tell the guys that use them for a living..................staking their life on them.
