  1. I'll give you the location of a dandy gobbler. He's smokin' hot right NOW...........take Youngs Rd north to Casey Rd. Straight north through the mud field, over the small work site fence and he should be hanging right there in the woods. Saw him today with my boss; I was driving the box van and spotted the black odd shape way back. Then I saw the blue "area" slowly moving through the woods. The boss almost went through the windshield when I jumped on the binders. Don't think he was too impressed but does humor me in these situations and did grant me a couple days off next week....... Anybody wants to see if they can get permission to hunt, help your self. Thank me later.........
  2. I'd bet AGAINST the turkeys..................and it'd be big money.
  3. Dogs.......can't live with em, can't live without em. Glad she's ok now.
  4. What is this "diet" thing you speak of?
  5. Wow.........I'll check Walmart on Transit before I hit the Big C.
  6. My flares are expired, stopped at Walmart today.........can you believe they ONLY had the gun flares, no hand held type?? I guess another Walmart might have them or I'll just go to Cabela's.
  7. Same/same............. All good! (you KNOW there's gonna be some time outs handed out here before long)
  8. You wouldn't BELIEVE all the beaver they have IN Canada....... Hopefully it was a good day for you & Gator, Dan. Details when ready!!
  9. I see you're elusive on this, good on you. Thought you were just a young guy......
  10. Nice you guys caught that. Good to see you're paying attention. Twas an incredible meal.....the chops 'n kraut cooked for just under 10 hours. The bones fell out and the meat was perfect. Pierogies were great, fresh out of the frozen food section at Wegs. A side a apple snawzz finished it just right.
  11. I'd opt for South Transit Family Restaurant or Kalamata's in Lockport. You CAN'T go wrong with either one in my opinion. MIlos's is a great one too but going another direction. The closest and easiest would have been Zoe's........I haven't been there in a couple years but I promise you won't leave hungry!
  12. Oh, that's painful. I'm old enough to be your father.......... I hit my prime a long time ago. To be 35 again, wow.
  13. No, there were at least three guys there when I got there and for sure two were still there. They were traditional shooters so they probably spent most of their time shagging lost arrows. (sorry moog!) The covered shooting line is great, glad they did that. Next thing they need is a sand pit to shoot broadheads into. It was for sure the most people I've ever seen there other than if there was a meeting. I DON'T like crowds though.....
  14. Ha.........I'm probably 15 years older than you, that my friend is the BIG difference.
  15. Excuse my ignorance, is that a Ford? Had a full day too. Just sat down on my deck with a One Buffalo beer from Southerntier Brewery to wind down...... What did I do you ask?? Well first off I grabbed 25 bags of compost from the local convenience store and spread it in the two beds we have. (Pulled a few weeds first and scratched up the surface). Then tossed a load of colors in the washer. Oh, half way through the compost I ran to Tops and grabbed a couple bags of sour kraut and put them and 8 pork chops in the crotch pot. Pulled the deck chairs out of the garage and put them on the deck. Straightened out the garage and swept it up. Showered up then loaded the truck and went to Niagara County Sportsmans to take a shot or two with the turkey gun and plink with a couple new .22 pistols. Got to the range and the place was jammed! Took one shot with the turkey gun and passes on the pistol plinking. Went to get a 20lb propane filled on the Reservation, it's only $9.50 Stopped at Wegmans and grabbed some pierogies and a cake for my wife's birthday. Got home and did some surgery on the front sight of the shotgun as I wasn't pleased with center of the pattern at 40 yards. Epoxied a whittled down fiber optic piece into where the factory sight used to reside. I think I'm GTG now..... First load of laundry is dried and folded, second is going in the washer momentarily. Got all my turkey clothing out and ready to roll. Even organized the clothes for and put away thing I hope I don't need anymore this spring! Ill slice some onions to go with the pierogies and have another beer after I rest my thumbs. Damned phone typing is for the birds.....
  16. Whatch out for those darned silent gobblers Jay, they'll sneak in a scare the bee-Jesus out of the little lady!
  17. Village of Williamsville on Friday.
  18. Wife and I had dinner in Wilson tonight at Woodcock Bros Brewery, dynamite as usual. Prior to that we went into Olcott Harbor and took a walk around the docks/boat launch then scoped out my bosses cottage on the lake shore on the Wilson/Newfane town line. Let me tell you; they could have some serious issues up there as the water level is expected to rise another 12" by May 15th. It is REAL bad.............
  19. There ya go, she's hooked!! Well done!!!!!
  20. I just heard of one successful youth hunter! Hopefully we get details.......
  21. I just saw this. I was going to text you but you might be in the sack already.........who are you taking out?
  22. Although my son never killed a gobbler on his youth hunts, it wasn't for a lack of birds/shot opportunities. If I told you, you wouldn't believe it. Good luck kids and most important, think safety!!
