That's great news. Locally living or are they down state? If its the 16th of August I can promise it'll be a great kid.
-
Cool, a little over time ain't going to hurt. Bring some good seafood back with you and keep safe!
-
The critters are going to have a tough go around here until this hard crust breaks from the freezing rain Friday night. Heck my pooch has a hard time walking around. Imagine a turkey or squirrel trying to root around....................... Do you have ice in your locale?

Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver Arrested.

Looks like SS is going to relinquish his position........temporarily while the "investigation" is going on. FRY DIRTBALL................. -
Yea! Cool pics of the fox on the rib cage........

Pretty sure I missed a SLAM DUNK gobbler in the Erwin Forest back in 1982 or 83. Oh never mind, you want to hunt deer. Good luck!!

RCBS Powder measure, stand and mounting bracket. The mounting bracket is for mounting to a bench if you didn't want to use the stand right away. What you see is what you get. I used this for loading centerfire rifle cases. $75 shipped here in NYS or PA. $70 face to face. NOT shipping to Alaska for this price........

If I'm carrying anything it's a S&W 642 and it isn't for bear protection..................(and not bow hunting of course)

I don't care if everybody in Mississippi gets them free with a GD Happy Meal. I don't think too much of them and didn't want the OP to think they would replace a rigid cleaning rod. If you and all your friend want to use them, have at it. I'm not going to drag the same old crud down the bore of my guns over and over. Yea.....hand washing it or running through your dishwasher is going to be fine..........maybe for your guns but not mine. There is no reason to clean your CF rifle bore in the field or at camp unless you didn't spend the $1.95 on a roll of electrical tape and use it. Cleaning a CF rifle properly with a rigid rod is not that much work, you might even be able to find a Youtube video on it, maybe. It sounds like you have invested heavily in them and don't want to hear any bad words on them?? You want to use them, fine. I'm sure they'll work great for you and everyone else. I pointed out a few facts and barely an opinion until now. Oh yea......don't have to clean your guns as soon as you get home from shooting? Well eat your Happy Meal then take a nap, maybe even wait a month to clean them, it won't make a lick of difference. Clean them when you've found time.......

Competiton Shooting & Benchrest Reloading
Lawdwaz replied to RSRAINS's topic in Rifle and Gun Hunting
Nice gesture Russell, I'll follow closely I'm just a pleasure shooter of lighter weight hunting rifles but I do enjoy trying to eek out as much accuracy as I can. A good friend of mine is also a benchrest shooter, he has helped me quite a bit and cost me money. It sure is an interesting hobby. Tell me about your shooting irons, 6PPC? -
Nice going. How you going to prepare them?
-
I don't know what sizes they come in but if they are made caliber specific then a .277 is going to be smaller than a .284 and not as tight, obviously. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say the store owner or his peeps will have glowing reviews for something they sell. Good luck!

Saw some information around the web on STUCK Bore Snakes....................Google that. It may change your feelings on them.

Gun Shops Closing

Sign of the times...........unfortunately. Here in my area it seems like we have a fewer new ones doing OK. -
How familiar are you with PA; how would you rate their balance as to herd numbers compared to Ohio & NY?
-
You're right of course. What is your point in starting this thread?
-
Balance is good. Appeasing as many hunters and giving options is a good thing IMO. It isn't a harvest, it's a kill, Mr PC.
-
Typically the gun is used by the youngest and oldest deer hunters. I know you'll say that the crossbow will help that and it probably will but why? Why not keep that tradition alive? Do we really need 4.5 months to hunt? Are Ohio hunters happy with things? OK, fire away...................................................................

Wow......what a great time that must have been! How much snow is on the ground Dan??
-
That's too bad really. I sure hope that that never happens here.....and I hunt with 100% effort with every weapon of choice when it is that season. To have gun hunters at the bottom of the list as far as harvest go would be a shame and I would think NOT what the DEC needs. (Oh, I predict 20 pages on THIS thread)
-
At the end of deer season I saw a flock that had to be close to 100 if not over.........Livingston County.
-
"she" did it? Your wife or girlfriend does the skull mounts? The mount looks great, so does the room. I love those "Western Mounts".................

Always measure your cleaning products CORRECTLY and NEVER over use them . The dilution rate on cleaning products is very important, as well as temperature of water when mixed. Hot water is not always best and can be harmful.
-
It won't work in the field for obstructions. Electrical tape is the answer for that.....................

I do toe exercises as I start to chill down. Just draw your toes up and down, bringing them in also. If I'm only going to sit for a couple hours and it isn't to cold I'll just do the exercises as they start to get cold. I'll count to 50-75 every 15 minutes or so and it helps a ton. If your boots don't have the room for this you are SOL............................... I should use the chemical warmers more than I do I guess, but it seems like a waste for only a couple hours in the tree sometimes. Also, my right foot/big toe has issues too; osteoarthritis and a couple floating bone spurs. That makes doing the toe crunches difficult and walking with the chemical warmers in place painful at best. Under such difficult conditions I do my best to muddle through.....................
