  1. Thats nice. I think I recall you telling that story here? I haven't had a chance to look for my issue, been a member since 1992. (Life since 1994) I'll keep digging for the issue........
  2. OK wise guy, I'll peruse EBay and see if I can find one. IIRC I sold it to the Marlboro Man.............. <<grin>> BTW, that pic was probably two weeks after I killed him as I kept cruising around showing him off!! <<grin>> I remember that deer like it was yesterday. I haven't been near the tree (if it is still standing) in 25 years but I KNOW I could walk to it in a flash. Hunted those woods for a few years after then a change in ownership got me booted. Hunted in the same general area but never from the same tree again. The remnants of the wooden stand still linger I'd think. Good times.
  3. Amazingly nice deer. Sure is alot of big bucks killed each year. Great job putting it together nyantler.
  4. They aren't easy pickings from what I have heard. Keep us posted on their tally.
  5. I give you guys credit for heading down for a deer hunt in the Park. I took my son for the youth turkey hunt a couple years in the Park. Hunted the west side and went ALMOST to the bottom. Incredible country! I'd NOT want to be hauling a buck up & out though. I'm too old for that much drama........<grin> Kudos to you!
  6. First buck, November 1980......................
  7. When Cabela's drops beef jerky, smoked salmon and fruit cakes THEN I'll boycott them. I'd not sweat the ammo issue too quick I think after things calm down and the people in the top tier of these companies have some time to mull their decisions over they'll be selling it again. It wasn't the gun or ammo that "did" the killing of all those children & adults, it was a young man with serious mental health issues. Very sad......
  8. And can be VERY addicting. I know a few guys that are crazy for it, like starting to shed hunt before the gun season is over!! It is a thrill when you see that white bone sticking up. Yes OP, it is hard work but worth it. Heck, you'll need a break from all the reloading. <grin>
  9. If they can read, they can post in a bit more grammatical way. Why people can't use a capital letter at the start of a sentence, a comma or maybe break for a paragraph at some point in a post is beond me. I'm FAR from the brightest bulb in the pack but damn, at least I try. I don't think anybody hits the edit button as much as me No, I won't start another post about it like you Grow, I'll just make my snide little comment and tuck & run in the thread. Happy New Year.
  10. Yes, a 30 cal (,308) will work in 308. 30-06 300WSM 300Ultra 300Win Mag etc. Reloading books are your friend! Do you have any yet?
  11. 5 minutes ago I heard a guy on "Sportsmens Of North America" on the Sportsmans Channel (Dish Network 396) say that his crossgun is good out to 70 yards. He was/is hunting axis deer in Texas.

    Deer/culling

Who's going to pony up the cash for dart/transfer? Very expensive and (I've heard) deer don't handle that stress very well. Sometimes bait/shoot needs to be done. It does suck though.......
  14. What was it I liked and where did it go??
  15. It is going to be a battle, Royal. I don't think the Gov. Has any idea what he is getting into. Glad I sold all my guns last week.
  16. Touche! I was SURE you had it in ya.............. Thanks for the TapTalkTip. I'll start saving my pennies.
  17. I can only aspire to be as smart as you someday. What will you do with your fortune, mount a jackalope? I hope your htc evo doesn't crap in the hay..........
  18. Do you guys access with an app when using your phone?
  19. Funny you should ask, G. My wife made turkey tetrazzini, a recipe I got a few years ago from your buddy Tim M. The stuff is fabulous and a wonderful way to use a spring gobbler! I HIGHLY recommend it......... http://allrecipes.com/recipe/turkey-tetrazzini-ii/ That, plus a couple Bud Lights and a few xmas cookies and I'm all set.
  20. 2bills gets you in the game. Monthy BS I can't wrap my hands around yet. I've been with Verizon for years, I wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them....... MANY unreal features, most I haven't figured out. A couple cool things: voice memo, good for those things I think of during the night and am too lazy to get out of bed to write down and how it can convert your voice to a typed text message for times my fingers are to messy from powdered donuts etc. <grin> Seriously, many times I lay down in bed, turn off the light and my head starts to swim with ideas or things to do the next day. rather than get up, fumble for my specs, flip on the light, search out the pen & paper, I can just grab the charging phone next to the bed on the night stand, next to the Glock. <no grin> The weather app should be great for hunting.
  21. I dropped the cash for one last Friday. Anybody else have one? How about IPhone 4, 4S? So far battery suckage has been considerable. I'm still (and will be for a bit) trying to learn about it from my 15 year old daughter & any other kid that has one! I have only loaded a couple apps: EBay & The Weather Channel. What other apps do you guys use? I DON'T want any games......... Oh yea, I butt dialed a guy yesterday, two times. How can that happen with that slide lock thing?
  22. I'd find it difficult to believe that there are 5 deer to even shoot at in the late season in Akron! (kind of kidding) I'd think guys are just dumping the load the easy way or just doing some plinking.
  23. Why would that not be legal during the deer season? Your shooting paper, NOT deer hunting.
