Naw, I like my method. I can load 50 cases pretty quick and they are very consistent in weight although I know that is not as important as you'd think. My biggest challenge is setting up the sizing dies and getting concentrically loaded rounds. Whatever you do, don't buy one of these....... Humbling........

Getting new gear, be it bow or gun is always good and gets a guy or gal out shooting more & more often. Good for you.

For the most part, the only time I "throw" powder is when I'm loading for the 223 or the 223ai. H335 is what I'm using and it meters well. All my other loading is one at a time, from the bottle onto the scale. Slowwwww but sure. No problem........

Good deal. Have you thought about bullets yet? (I didn't refresh my memory and reread the entire thread) Once you grab a certain bullet for the gun, go to the bullet manufacturers website and see what info. you can garner. As a starter....... http://www.nosler.com/reloading-data.aspx http://www.barnesbullets.com/information/load-data/ This information is invaluable as it is usually updated often by the "powers that be". You certainly don't NEED the fastest load but sometimes they are the most accurate. Most company's will tell you what load was/is the most accurate in THEIR testing and that is a good hint!

Lipstick/makeup application, GPS fiddling, dogs on lap, fighting kids, fighting spouses, Whopper with cheese inhaling, shaving, jerkin' the beef, spilled coffee etc. lots of ways to get into a jam up, none good! That video is some powerful stuff. Thanks for sharing.

Thumb hole stocks sure look cool (UGHH!!) but it can work agaist you in a situation where you MIGHT have to become a switch hitter. If it is a right handed (most likely) stock, shoulder one against your left shoulder and try and get to the trigger. Not too easy. I'm a lefty but have killed more than a few deer right handed with my guns with traditional stocks. Just something to chew on.........

5 shots inside of a quarter is pretty good shooting. To tell a guy that if he can't do it he's flinching or has a lousy trigger pull isn't really nice correct. A quarter is less than in inch in diameter. For many hunters a 5 shots inside of an inch would be quite an accomplishment on a great day. Quite possibly a guy could have a lousy bedding job, poorly mounted scope, junk scope/mounts, cheap ammo, warm barrel, windy day, horrible rest or no rest (front & rear) or lord knows the guy might not really know HOW to shoot (you noted that) from a bench for group size. Sure, it could be the trigger but lots of things could be out of whack too. BTW, I also like 165gr for the -06. Not sure why but it always seemed like a good balance and a RCH less recoil.

So many good choices, few bad ones. Stay away from anything with a "mag" at the end.

Like many of my early girlfriends, good enough. <grin>

Sometimes I have a coughing spell and think I'm going to pass out. That can't be good......

I'd look for a good realtor instead. Seriously....

Anybody else sick? I started Christmas eve around 9:00pm. A little tickle in the throat and then the dreaded dry cough. Now my chest and head are killing me when I cough. The nose is stuffed like a Thanksgiving turkey. Aches and pains............ Christmas was real difficult, yesterday was impossible. Today I got out for a couple hours; did the driveway, did a small job for a customer, hit the post office etc. Now I feel horrible again. Damn... The only thing I can guarantee you is I will not watch the "Price Is Right" show EVER again in my LIFE! That was just an insult on my feeble little mind. How can people watch that? Sorry for the rant.....

You HAD to bring this ONE up? Great.................................................<grin>

Another thing, kudos to you for getting into it. YOU control the entire process now. Nobody elses shiit deer will be ground with yours, at the very least.............

You can do as much or as little trimming as you want. I'm sure most commercial butchers don't spend much time trimming and you don't hear of too many people dieing of venison sinew/fat/muscle death from consuming it! I do a pretty fair job a trimming mine. I'd say. I think it makes for a better tasting grind. That clear snotty stuff won't kill you either but you should try and scrape it off.

I bought myself 3 lbs of powder yesterday, if that counts. RL15, IMR 4350 and H335. I thought I had enough (ha!) primers but checked when I got home, 500 small rifle on hand ain't gonna cut it. I'll grab another k tomorrow. Large rifle I'm good on.

Good Lord, prayers are needed for a bunch of familes in Rochester/Webster. Keep them in mind tonight and tomorrow in church........ -
I checked and I couldn't see a date on when it was published or printed. It looks as though it is the most recent one?? There probably isn't a "bad" reloading book, just outdated info. You can get almost any load data off the bullet or powder manufacturers web sites and that should be the most up to date. Each book can have little tidbits or tips that can be of great value. Merry Christmas kiddo!
