  1. If it is a Bolt action. You can try this.Set up a target 25 yards away from a solid bench or table.Target could be any material,Take a carpenters square 2 foot size,Draw a vertical line and then a horoz. line in the center of that.Magic marker works good.Take a level and try to get the target leveled out.Mount the rifle in some sort of vise or what ever holds it in one spot without moving.Take the bolt out of the rifle first. Now look threw the barrel and try to center it the best you can on the target Tighten holding device and make sure the barrel is still centered, now look threw the scope and see if the crosshairs are lined up with the target.Been doing this for 40+ years and it will get you pretty close to the bulls eye.And saves a lot of ammo. After that as said every rifle likes a ceritne weight bullet best. Also look up what weight bullets the barrel on the rifle is grooved for.
  2. I had one of thoes in the BDL model in .243 caliber That was heavy but it was one of the most accurate factory rifles I had.
  3. Might be that He or She is one of the ones that own or leases property up state and puts corn out to get pictures on there trail camers, don't have the time or ambision to do the work involved to prepare and and spend the money to prepare Food Plots. And are proberly POed because they got caught baiting.
  4. 1 Buck per Sq. mile + 2 Does per Sq. mile + 3 Fawns. And that s the truth. And the still keep on giving out Doe Permits.
  5. All you need in the beginning is a neck sizing die and a bullet seater, after 10 -20 shots each case, you might have to trim the length assuming you are using a factory barrel. Not a custom chamber. No reason to full length resize.A good primer pocket cleaner and sizer and deburring tool, look up K&M reloading supplies.A neck deburing tool and few brushes to clean the inside of the necks.A good liquid case cleaner. My tumblerhas been sitting for 15 years collecting dust,if you want to make them loo pretty, just buy a case spinner and the finest steel wool you can get.A hand primer is the only way to go.
  6. Ok here is an old one 6.5x55 140 grain,my back up rifle.
  7. Bucks = one Doe to buck ratio = 2 / 1
  8. Hope you are sitting down.
  9. You better put them clothes in a plastic bag seal it and wear them when deer huntin.
  10. If you have ,Bobcats, fox or yotes around they will take care of it .If not the turkey buzzards will.
  11. Ruined too many arrows doing that,I pick different spots on the target to shoot now.And different targets at various distances.
  12. As I said in another post You are feeding them the right stuff in your food plots. That fawn makes some of the adult deer look like fawns.By me.
  13. My biggest mistake when I built my house was not putting a wood stove in the basesment. For the simple reason of when the power goes out.I had pex tubing put in my hole cement slab,2/3 garage and 1/3 cellar, with 2 seprate thermostats. The hole floor of the house has it also with a thermostat in each room all connected to an outside wood boiler, also my hot water heater is connected to it.I go threw anywhere from 6 full cords to the worst which was 2 years ago I used 10 full cords.I works out very well Except If The Power Goes Out.It would just be too expensive to put a wood stove in the cellar now the way the house is set up.I just finished splitting and stacking about a half of a cord of oak this morning.
  14. I have one for over 10 years and it still does not leak, easy to set up..Maby Cabin Fever and I got ours before all of the Chonking imports.
  15. You have been feeding them well with all of the food plots you have. You might find a big buck near by wanting some of that big beefy.
  16. I tried a few kinds the ones arm rest are a waste, some were too low some too high.I found what works for me is a tree stump cut to a height that suits you with a hot seat on it,I can rotate 360 degrees and see out all of the windows and draw a bow. If I planed ahead I would have cut a tree down lower then the inside of the blind and put one of the swivel seats that strap on to a tree.I nave one in my tree stand and it works great.
  17. I would think it a depends on what you want in the future,Do want to use it just for hunting and an occasional weekend hide out Do what SOB has done.If you plan on building a house, putting a single or dubble wide on the property in the future. As far as towing anything larger then 21 ft.I would just hire some one to pull it from wherever to where you want to pull it.I know someone that tried towing with the wrong equipment and it cost him $5000.00 + to fix the trailer and tow vehicle.
  18. Dam yellow jackets got me last week. One on the hand and one on the elbow.Been putting baking powder and water mix on,pain is gone.
  19. Whoever told you they cannot be warm inside must have had a bad or undersized heater for what they had.We would take our Pop Up trailer up during bow season,on a friends farm, leave it there till after rifle season in the Catskills depending on how much Snow and when we could get it out.The trailer had a canvese top we would put a new tarp over the top so the snow would slide off easy.I had a good heater and would take up a 100 lb.tank of propane(never used it up) the whole season. And some nights it would go down well below 0 degrees. We originaly were tent campers so we had portable stoves, lanterns ect.We would keep our drinks outside in a cooler and food in the little Frig.inside.Self contained trailers are nice and comfey, but we never had a need for one.
  20. Without the can.Brown both sides of chops, put in a covered pan,put beer from can in with chops, add veggies if wanted ,let simmer for 20 min. to a half hour.
  21. Pork chops are good that way too.
  22. Many years ago when we hunted a friends old farm, there was a trail that went from one end to the other on higher ground,it bordered his neighbors property, near that trail on the neighbors property ( Paula ) were tampons hanging from the lower branches of a tree line. They were replaced every year with new ones.
  23. Ever try using your own.It works.
  24. Slice Zucchini the long way scoop out the seeds just leave the meat, put in cut up pieces of venison, diced tomatoes, onions and what ever other vegies you like, add spices, put them in a crock pot add just enough water to bottom of shells, slow cook for 4 hours.both halves fit in my elec. crock pot.YUMMY.
  25. It is most likley a carry over from auto racing which has a 2 year date,To me it is just BS to make more money for them. How many are using them every day all year.
