  1. very meta post here. love it.
  2. for me, it's less an issue about a realistic time frame and just hoping/desiring better communication. We're all busy, I get it. I'd rather my guy be in the shop than typing emails, however maybe every 6 months or so or at least annually you shoot out some status update notes to ease the anxiety? idk...
  3. I remember it being amazing as a kid. Went 4 or 5 years ago I think and was sorely disappointed.
  4. i dont have the energy to read the thread, but i recall it being one of those "well you're a moderator, so you don't get an opinion".
  5. all the planet earth stuff is awesome as shit too
  6. black mirror if your like to think fastest car was cool if you're a gearhead there's a slew of true crime stuff. i really liked mindhunter you can spend months if you watch all of the now canceled marvel shows. just be sure to watch in the order they were released F for family and Big mouth are good if you're a southpark/family guy fan. The later is not for the faint of heart, but the former i think many on this board would get a kick out of.
  7. there's a meateater podcast episode that's devoted entirely to packing for western hunts. I'd recommend you listen to it. I've heard good things about stone glacier but don't have any real first hand experience. Only a few guys on this very eastern "treestand" hunting group will have the real experience for western style hunting.
  8. i doubt anyone buys your place and considers the timber, most are likely to look at your bathroom and kitchen. If it's a hunter, they'll generally understand the benefits of selective logging. Honestly, selective logging will be you leaving the land better than it is. My dad has done ours twice now and we're now entering the 3rd spring since the last cut and the growth is amazing and we're seeing more animals and even different species like fisher that we haven't seen in quite some time. key is "selective"
  9. Wait... I thought you were deleting your profile? [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. i used to go to the corner. got a chair at least though. grew up in a log cabin and carved my name into the wall. dad was pissed when he found it one day. To this day I defend my actions though. "what'd you expect? you put a pissed off kid in a corner." lol.
  11. i would normally say i doubt this will ever pass, but nothing has surprised me with this current regime. Wildlife aside, the loss of revenue for towns, businesses and licences sales would be in the millions. Forest through the trees people.
  12. was there more drama after 11? I didn't get a chance to check and now it's not even locked, it's hidden
  13. of course and that's what this dude did. killed his attacker. And now he's being sort of shamed on social media by a group that is mostly made up of city people who are afraid to kill a spider. And the clickbait headlines that made him some sort of chuck norris and first and then demonized him later. When all along the story was just that he was attacked, got cut up pretty bad and defended himself.
  14. just think about a pissed off house cat that weighs only 5 to 10 pounds and tell me that's still something you'd sit down and have a cup of tea with. exactly
  15. really cool stuff, thanks for sharing. I bet there's been quite a few movies and tv shows filmed there. on a side note, i've never understood tagging style graffiti. why is it necessary to spray paint on something?
  16. i guess i dont get it, but that's not surprising with him. sorry i'm a major pain in your ass.
  17. he never disputed that. In fact if you read any of the interviews he explains how he doesn't want to be perceived as some bad ass, because he's actually a scrawny non-violent dude. In fact, it's also been repeatedly reported that this wasn't an adult lion. all that said, even a 40lb cat with claws and teeth is something i'd rather avoid...
  18. man you have my turkey hunting history memorized? I think that's the real wow moment here. I don't take hunting that seriously ole Bill. I like to get in the woods. Perhaps you recall the picture that won a contest on here recently? That was my son and I on his first turkey hunt. We had toms gobbling in close but I didn't punch a tag, and it's still the best time in the woods I've ever had. It's clear we have different definitions of success. you wont win friends here shaming other hunters. actually that was a joke. A literal statement, but not attacking you Rob. Maybe put your defenses down for a minute too ok? racist crap? Attack you personally? I am a lot of things besides a hunter. Great that you were once an instructor, but many of us don't dilute our hunting forums with interests outside of hunting. I'm on the board of directors for a youth football league, should I post a bunch of stuff about youth football on hunting ny forums?
  19. it's not the turkey stuff Bill. It's the 1960's martial arts videos. sorry to break it to you.
  20. days ago? dude I used that one months ago and if i had the time i'd prove it. I also coined papsmear and few others that I can't recall.
  21. well enough? WELL ENOUGH!? bhahahahahhahaha. Even if you forgive the grammar and spelling, 1/3 of it is entirely incoherent. i've been in florida the last 2 weeks for work. What'd I miss?
  22. you probably have some time still. My oldest is 6 and he still doesn't have "his gun". All that aside, I think I'd opt to buy an additional safe instead of a bigger one. Those big boys are a nightmare to move. Even my 7 gun has been a beast when we moved a few times. Maybe putting one with the collectibles/infrequently used guns in the basement and the other more accessible or something? idk just a thought.
