Wonderful Quote From The Late Charlie Alsheimer
Five Seasons replied to Lawdwaz's topic in Deer Hunting
wow didn't know he passed. I didn't always agree with some of his theories, but it was great to have a local guy reach his level of influence. love the quote -
underarmour moisture wicking stuff followed by some good merino wool. then a few more layers that all serve a purpose. I've spent more money on good gear to stay in the field longer and more flexible and comfortable than just about anything.

i think the point that i struggle with and thank you chas for clarifying, is that while it's not directly enforced, it's still the law. Obviously you can do what you like with that info. My job requires me to have certain abilities so unfortunately i just can't mess around with these kind of things.
-
that doesn't help me. you're not even following the 10 rd. law lol. Heck I lived in the south, thankfully i left my "normal" glock mags there, but gee wouldn't it be nice to have my 13 rounders?
-
i should rephrase. when asked if i have any weapons, i'm telling the truth. You can have your method, but I'll have mine. There's a reason stupid people get shot by the police. Those guys and gals are always alarmed and i dont blame them. no reason to be silly if i'm following the laws...and white so all yall are still carrying loaded 10's?
-
yeah like i said i'm not worried about my home. It's more of question when i carry in a car/truck and if stopped I will of course inform them i have a loaded firearm.
-
so i'm curious if anyone has heard of anyone actually being caught/arrested for over 7 rounds in a mag? I know I've read a few who have been busted for "Assault" rifles. When i bought my stainless kimber 1911 a few years ago it only came with 1 7 round mag. Kind of a pain at the range. Anyhow I found a good deal on some winter camo gloves at midway and needed to spend a little more for free shipping. So I bought a kimber 8 round mag for the same price as the 7. Now this big ass pistol is a bedside gun with no intentions of being carried, so honestly if I'm ever in the situation where I'm protecting my home and family, I'll worry about the law later. But it had me thinking and figured maybe some of you would know if anyone has been charged.

I don't recognize your screen name, so I'm not sure you visit much. but there has been constant support and discussion on this topic since its inception. If you want to complain about it, I'd suggest you speak to our resident anti-muslim crusader who floods the section and waters down the good stuff.

Cuomo's State of the State
Five Seasons replied to ADK Native's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
legalize weed! bring my guns back! -
you're trying to make sense of a law that was passed overnight after a tragedy in a different state to circumvent the constitution. it's really not very different from the new tax law's attempt to repeal obamacare. Our inept government at all levels can't do anything or even simply balance a budget, but dammit if they want something bad enough they can do it overnight. makes you think
-
who is agreeing with it?
-
in fairness to tyrod, although a dumb audible... making the throw wouldn't have mattered as bengamin pushed off. the whole fiasco is really his fault.
-
i didn't hate the pass call as I know they were taking advantage of an obvious run down, but I agree the first shot should have gone to tolbert or even williams lol. The only real weakness on the jags are with fat darius in the middle

this should surprise no one.

there are a bunch of gun friendly states that have the recert process, some even with a fee. I don't honestly hate the idea as I think it might weed out some irresponsible owners, but that being said, i haven't met any bad guys that ever cared about the law. if anything bothers me, it's that this is free and just an attempt to get rid of guns through technicalities. If it had even a $5 fee I could see the funds going to gun safety courses, illegal gun programs etc. similar to our hunting permits and snowmobile registrations.

i've been a tyrod supporter all along and I don't blame him for the loss. But it is clear that like Alex Smith, this is his peak. We wont go any further with him. It seems odd to let the 1st QB to get us to the playoffs in 17 seasons go, but that was a tough game. give jax its due, they have the best D in the league and this game was going to break on one or 2 plays and unfortunately it didn't break our way. I still am happy with the results of what was supposed to be a tanking season.
