Shumer shutdown
Five Seasons replied to Water Rat's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
And I personally see that as an easy fix. It will not solve gun violence. But it should help. I also understand the give an inch mentality so i see why some fight it. I guess ultimately I wish it didn't have to come down to politics and we could all agree that obtaining a firearm should come with some basic checks and balances like it does 95% of the time. I guess I'd wonder if ya'll are against commercial sale nics checks as well? -

incorrect for the majority of states. correct for ny. Private-parties are not legally required by federal law to: ask for identification, complete any forms, or keep any sales records, as long as the sale does not cross state lines and does not fall under purview of the National Firearms Act -

Yes head in the sand criminals will always get guns. That's the way to help preserve the few rights we have left. I mean, it's the same argument we say that bad people kill people, not guns right? Take away guns and they will just build bombs. So to be clear, ya'll are ok with a private citizen being legally able to sell a firearm to a convicted felon? That it's legal for the seller to do so? And that we shouldn't at least make him work for it? Sort of like, not even locking your doors because if he wants in bad enough he will get in? -

You can call it whatever you want. Fact of the matter is that criminals and those otherwise not allowed to own firearms can do so through private sale, some of which happens at gun shows. That does not benefit any of us who legally own firearms. And that includes me, an NRA member. It’s clear some of you want no measures in place at all. I am not one of them. I’d rather we fight to get our assault rifles and mags back and give in to a basic background check through an FFL at a small fee of ~$20. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

not a discussion for a public forum. -
what would be funny is if the whole forum was together and it was like the state of the union. half would have stood to roaring applause while the rest of us sat all bitch face pelosi at that comment. i've never vaped. and liguid/oil based thc is still a pretty new concept. Not a log of options. But not allowing edibles either is just silly.

join me a gun show down south and i'll show you. permits are in place because some people aren't peaceful. aka antifa and blm. i'm not sure why i needed to explain that to you, it's the same reason we have gun laws. some people ruin it for everyone. -

too much violence, traffic congestion. both sides are to blame for the non-peaceful protest. -
if you read the doh website it's still not easy. small list of providers and can only have non-smokeable form. Needs to be vapped or in pill form. Can't even buy edibles https://www.health.ny.gov/regulations/medical_marijuana/
-
I agree. if you're really disabled, chances are your have a doc. Honestly i'm sure most primaries wouldn't have a problem signing a note either. The intent shouldn't be the medical marijuana card scheme in cali.

set on a revolver? There's nothing I love at all about shooting my ruger lcp with lasermax laser... but for the ~$300 I paid for it and that its always goes boom? Well I think it's a nice pocket pistol for the money. Pockets aren't generally bought for the range anyhow.
-
what's it attached to? bow or gun? and how?
-
to not put a provision in for the elderly and disabled is asinine. Nobody should have a problem with that. Doctors note sent to a system at the dec and done. If a few people fake it, they were hunting with a crossbow illegally anyhow. make it easy.

My little slice of heaven
Five Seasons replied to WNYBuckHunter's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
Out of the 4 houses I've owned, the one I missed the most was the one with some land. I really almost enjoyed the food plotting and restoring the old apple orchard more than hunting it. I don't think the wife and I are in our forever home so it's not all lost. But settling for a nice house and little land was really our only option. When we moved back we looked for 5 months before we gave up and couldn't deal with apartment living anymore. Good land that is somewhat close to work is harder and harder to find. Glad it worked out for you. If you're anything like me you'll spend more time outdoors than on the house doing the things you want there instead. Man the first few years do not provide any couch sitting time. -

so we're golfing now? what happened to beers? lol. -
i have an old hero2. It's good for shooting views and motorsports, but not really anything to show distance with game. There might be some advancements out there now. Here are 2 videos I made at the old house like 5 years ago. It now kinda just sits in the desk drawer.

What's the coolest thing you found in the woods?
Five Seasons replied to helmut in the bush's topic in General Chit Chat
it's increasingly rare but my camp in the adirondaks is on an old railroad line. There are old rock pile camp stoves, tons of bottles and unfortunately glass in the pond. But we find railroad spikes and stash them away. It's like finding a shed. You know they're there and not super rare, but always cool to find them. -

i remember. it's was after you gave us boys from wayne central those wedgies. realized how much harder it was with the extra packaging and made you sick. it's all good. -
no doubt longer is more accurate. My switchback is 33 I think and I've never had an issue with it. But I'm not sure I'd want to go bigger in the woods.
