i think you're overthinking it. This guy was a dud. He read some stuff on the internet that is readily accessible to anyone if they look hard enough. I would put the chances at pretty low that he even had contact with ISIS. Not downplaying the event, just my opinion that he isn't some gold mine to capture. I would bet the truck driver a few weeks ago had better info.

i consider myself a trophy hunter with the idea that I prefer to kill bucks and typically attempt to pass smaller bucks and doe for a nice 2.5 and up. This year I broke that idea to put some bow meat in the freezer and honestly need a few more. My wife uses a lot of venison for my family of 5 and a few bad breaks has me looking at a pretty weak excuse for a freezer. What's kind of interesting is that the past 2 seasons has felt like I've had little to no pressure to shoot a nice buck and I'm more worried about getting enough meat in the freezer haha.

i'm 3 for 3 with shockwaves out of my cva optima. Including a 60 yard shot through the shoulder of a nice buck, which i was happy to see as a former shotgun hunter, shoulder shots were not as preferable as they are with the rifle. triple 7 for me too. As far as cost I only shoot a few times a year so I put it in the same bucket with the rage broadhead costs.

well hung up the .30-06 last night. Had a good hunt Sunday but could not bring myself to shoot a smaller doe and then a bb. Had sort of a bummer Friday night that i'm not quite sure i'm prepared to talk about yet. Looking forward to a few sits this weekend with the smoke pole in hopes of some venison. It appears my 3 deer goal may fall short, but it aint over yet. wondering how this weather will factor in.
