they hunt yotes out west. In fact if i remember right, the eastern coyote is not native, but is a yote/wolf hybrid. That right there should tell you what you need to know about them being here in the first place, and why they should be gone. Wolves were very much hunted and killed back in the day for what they did to livestock. It's really no different than killing yotes for what they do to deer and small game today. That said, the wolf is endangered and not really needed to be killed.

i struggle with the non-open season on yotes. Many states have open season on yotes, boar etc. You are required to only use the legal implement during that season so it keeps the guns out of the woods during bow. I believe the reason is to give the woods a rest and to allow non-hunters some time, but I don't think there is that many yote hunters out that it would make an impact if it were 365.

perhaps the question is why do you like coyotes? Most of us are deer and turkey hunters and regardless of what you believe, most of us believe coyotes hurt the populations of both deer and turkey. Plus if you've ever been in a stand and had a small pack of them kill something in the dark less than 100 yards from you, you might not be too excited to get down.

Well now you've proven your superiority through clever words and links and I guess an ironic screen name... (A derogatory term used like the N word is generally not accepted by most respected people within the community. I'm sure the Pope wouldn't find it funny.) By the way, notice I've never called you a name. We Catholics don't believe in casting stones. You can continue though. We Catholics also don't believe we are better than our fellow human beings, but you have claimed to be. So please continue with that as well. I do wonder why you haven't answered my question about your employment though. Or posted a picture of you with a nice deer. Why are these things?

yet lost in this all this about an avatar is Papist is an anti-catholic slur. Which we are all ok with for some reason. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Papist Papist is a (usually disparaging) term or an anti-Catholic slur, referring to the Roman Catholic Church, its teachings, practices, or adherents.

Possibly the biggest buck ever killed on camera
Five Seasons replied to LuckyPickle123's topic in Deer Hunting
and in what part of that video did it look like he intentionally made a poor shot or took a low risk shot? Sure the buck wasn't 25 yards broadside, but that hunter didn't intend to make a shot where he'd have to wait overnight. Could you imagine the anxiety? Poor and bad shots are a part of hunting and never intentional, so get off your high horse. I'm sure you've made some yourself. Whether it's a young doe, or a mature buck, nobody intends to let an animal suffer, and I can't speak for others, but I eat all the meat from my "rack bucks" just the same as I do from a young doe. More of it ends up in grind, but we eat it just the same. -
You guys are missing my point. It's not the setting I was criticizing. And it's only an opinion. It's the angle of the shot. When the horns take up most of the frame and the hunter deliberately leans 4 or 5 feet back, it creates an illusion of larger antlers. If I had time or cared enough I'd find and post a pic of my cousins 4 point from last year that by using this trick looked like the biggest 4 ever shot. Just look at the 2 posted form left to right. On the left he's sitting at the rear of the buck and look at the size of the rack. On the right, the rack (although the same size) looks smaller as he sits up towards the front and provides a different reference point. Don't blow a little comment out of proportion. It's the internet and just a comment.

there are some on this board who would leave you to believe they aren't a problem at all. I am not one of them.

no blood from a double lung? that's really rare. I've had holes plug but generally it's a funny angle where it goes out the guts and usually single lung. Anyhow it ended well. Congrats.

Another Question....Yep, I might have a few....
Five Seasons replied to DirtTime's topic in Bow Hunting
No but it will be a hell of a lot more comfortable on the freeway, offer better creature comforts and is generally considered better looking. It's not apples to apples with that analogy. I do not know anyone who offroads their escalade. haha. -
might be hard for my old buddy Papist http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Papist Papist is a (usually disparaging) term or an anti-Catholic slur, referring to the Roman Catholic Church, its teachings, practices, or adherents. The term was coined during the English Reformation to denote a person whose loyalties were to the Pope, rather than to the Church of England. Over time, however, the term came to mean one who supported Papal authority over all Christians; it thus entered widespread use, especially among Anglicans and Presbyterians.[citation needed] The word, dating from 1534, derives (through Middle French) from Latin papa, meaning "Pope".[2]

yet we still never hear you post about hunting... just accusing other members of being communist. And still you haven't disclosed your occupation. Until you actually participate in the hunting part of this board or post some hunting pics or stories or even prove you have a decent respectable job than I'm done with you.

You hit the nail on the head. We just don't like it. It is unsporting. I don't know why I have to justify why I don't like it. I can't control people who lie about what they kill and how they did it so I don't let it bother me (see the quote in my sig). However, it puts a bad name to our sport that faces enough criticism. Many non-hunters probably don't realize these kinds of hunts even exist or they'd be speaking out even more against us.

Lololololololo -
I haven't seen him post anything hunting.

While your point is fair for the anti-hunting crowd I'm guessing as Rossi said, a lot of these posts were not from the anti's. A lot of these were fece sitters

Not always true either, but it does hold true most of the time. -
The problem is when they don't disclose that it was a canned hunt. And the word "hunt" is hard to use.
-
Was just a comment. Lord knows your facebook page has quite a few of the new trend.

Personal choice. I think they're cool and rare. Perhaps others will get a chance to see him too. Same reason I don't hunt fox or would I trap beaver. I think it's ok for me NOT to shoot something right?

What field are you in? I'm interested to know if I'm talking to someone in the healthcare field or someone who just reads a lot of wacko internet articles. For what it's worth I too rarely get sick. Good health and hygiene generally do the trick. However the guy next to you who you think has the flu, does not. The REAL flu can leave you bedridden for weeks. It's not the sniffles and aches for a few days. Low probability is still better than no probability of helping me not get sick. Heck is hunters spend a lot of money on things that might only partially improve our odds. So what's so bad again with a FREE flu shot? Does your job not offer health insurance?

Same can be said for many parts upstate. -315er here
