  1. Haha needing downstate? That's classic. 99% of us would separate that giant tax leach in a second if we could. There's only reason we pay the second highest taxes in the country in western ny. Simply watching where the votes that approved te safe act came from is proof enough o how different we are. And if growalot doesn't like this thread she can just post another of her own and let us have our fun.
  2. Or maybe some of us feel they did listen to some of the sportsman. Myself and others sent letters too.
  3. its entertaining in a very slow season. If a site closed every post with some drama... how fun would that be?
  4. nah, you just like to call people out when you're on the other side of the fence. It has nothing to do with how he worded his opinion. Never once compromising or giving an inch even after you know you're wrong. It's sort of "your thing".
  5. the hypocrisy in this thread is astounding. The upstate folks get offended when they're branded as being a certain way, but then continue to slang insults and stereotypes at the folks from the city. And the folks from the city continue to not give in to the childish ways and do not sling the insults back. Seems a good portion of these hypocrites are the same people I encounter in other threads that disagree with me. You're so easy and quick to pile on one person who is disagreeing with the majority and call him or her names, but then when that person makes one comment in return you want the thread closed and the person banned. What is it with some of you that you want to fight over a stereotype or a comment someone makes that may offend you; but that you have no problem insulting others? Claiming they're from bad homes, tards, wads etc. There's been no name calling from the city. You're just making all of upstate look bad.
  6. you're probably on the portal. mine defaults to that. unless i click forums and view new content I see the same.
  7. he never called your daughter a slut either. He made a generalization about a group. It's like saying "man white people sure can't dance." If you're white and take that as a personal attack, you really shouldn't. Most intelligent folks realize generalizations can be hurtful and wrong, but that they are not personal. A personal attack would be like: "Doewacker you're a real bad dancer". In fact, reading this thread is funny. a dozen or so of you have personally attacked Biz for what he said, and what he said was not about any ONE daughter. So you're all very hypocritical.
  8. I have several very close friends from LI and NYC. In many conversations and stories they seem no different. Like mentioned before, the only difference is that the number of opportunities are greater. Like I said before, even the church going ladies can be pretty intense. I don't believe it's a geographical thing, simply an age gap. Seems most of us under 30 are on the same page and all the older folks with daughters are on another. There's no disrespect meant by me at least, I'm just simply trying to explain to some what is reality.
  9. I'll agree with the comments not being really necessary. But I do truly believe a lot of the older fathers are clueless. I remember being busted by my dad after school one day. Him and my mom figured it was best to call my gf's parents. They did. She never told her husband. And I'm sure some of you believe your wife would never keep that a secret and maybe it's so. But did you learn about your daughters first period and other girl things? probably not.
  10. lol remember he can still golf and fist bump too. some of you guys need to lighten up a little. I think you've taken his comments way to personal. He never called out your daughters specifically he just made a wide generalization, that again is not wrong. If you have high school/college girls, that means you've been out of touch with teens and "my generation" for a while now.
  11. Can't believe i'm on your side here. And I'm in agreement with almost everything you've said. I have a son and the wife wants another soon, and I'd be fine with a girl. But I already know I'd be the same father as most of these guys in this thread. A few subtle threats to keep the guys in check, but I've also noticed some girls I've hooked up with that have these "I'm cleaning my guns" over the top fathers tend to be the sluttiest of all. The nicest, cleanest girls have always been those that just have a good open relationship with their dad. The former like to rebel, the later prefer to keep the good relationship. Regardless as a 29 year old I can assure you there were only a small handful of girls leaving high school as virgins. And most of those were pretty homely. I'd say the majority had not only handed in their v-card but put at least 2 notches on their belts. And dad's, I'm not from downstate. I'm talking Wayne county and the University at Buffalo. You have to take our society for what it is. All that being said, if I had a girl, so long as I know she wasn't being taken advantage of I think I'd just prefer not to know and be naive.
  12. some of the knowledge with crops on this site is amazing. You guys are great.
  13. I urge you to go to this site and quickly and easily send a message to your representatives. The bill currently sits in the assembly. We have plenty of other areas to discuss the actual topic so please leave it out of here, This thread is simply to provide information to those who oppose. http://www.capwiz.com/newyorkbowhunters/issues/alert/?alertid=62735756&type=ML
  14. My only point guys was that this gives the DEC the power, it does not make it law. Will they do it? Probably. Just trying to educate some
  15. while you're most likely right about that, it still doesn't necessarily mean they will place it during archery. The DEC also like to hold their public comment periods and what not. So we will see. Not that I even care anymore really. dumb!!!
  16. btw, i hear people mispronounce the term sabot all the time. It's french and the T is silent (saboohhh). Just some friendly advice from your resident grammar police trying to help you all look and sound smarter
  17. I cant believe the apples I'm seeing. Last year was my first season at the new house and I only had a few trees produce. This year there's a lot and my peach and pear are doing well too. I agree that i've also had a lot of drops already and did some minor pruning. Nothing major, but just enough to keep the branches from drooping and to hopefully force the trees to put a little more energy in branch development. I had a lot of neglected trees that I'm trying to bring back and so far it seems to be working ok.
  18. same here. easier to put up and I think there's something about the net that freaks them out. Like maybe they dont see it like a normal fence, then they feel it and do the "deer freakout". I'm wondering how easy it'll be to reuse next year though and if it'll not just be easier to buy more.
  19. and you know wrong. i am from Ontario. I do hunt Tully in addition to Ontario though. I know for a fact you wont be where i am.
  20. I once had like 60 pics of a rabbit over an hour. He just hopped around eating the clover and it kept taking pics haha
  21. but you kept telling me you'd be in the woods with your crossbow on 10/1? now you're going to Wyoming?
  22. she was probably on his butt about doing chores and was trying to escape... only for you to bring him back to the wench! haha
  23. Five Seasons

    hatch

i've found about a half dozen over the last few weeks that were crushed. Something got to them. bastards.
  24. i have corn all around and no orchards. I think the dozen or so mature apple trees i have really sucks them in for a change of pace.
