like i said. just delete it. there was no malice meant by it. if i could i would. were you there pre or post British rule? Or perhaps during German occupancy?
-
oh lighten up, you know damn well i didn't mean anything by it and why i posted the "drunk guy emoticon" if i thought anyone would have taken that as more than a light hearted joke i wouldn't have typed it. too bad this forum wont let you go back and edit or i would.

i'd like to go sit with the smoke pole and put a doe in the freezer as I'm tagged out, but I dont desperately need the meat, it'd just be more sausage and slim jims. I sort of just wanted to sit one more time though and enjoy it before it's gone. Some snow might be all I need to get me out there.

i actually also really like the bbq flavored fritos.
-
haha that's funny. could be a dominance thing similar to dogs? or the bigger bucks never let them get their jollies off.

Anyone use a smart phone for the GPS feature???

antler insanity. free and you can mark all your stands, gives you wind direction, walking distance to stands etc. The cabelas app cost money but i believe you can actually map your approach trail which is neat. they're accurate to within 15' -

forgot about the bow only area. great recommendation.

Wow man. I don't even own a quad and had no idea they were illegal. Like you I have seen trucks with quads and I know they allow snowmobiles so i guess i just assumed. I hunted there a total of 3 times for deer, twice for squirrel and twice for pheasant. Everytime I walked and had a cart in the truck. Ive hiked the whole park with my wife and dog and was only recommending a spot i had luck with probably closer to a half mile in when i think more about it. But please flip out some more.

i have never done a "big block deer drive" i'm not totally against it but my hunch is big drives involve inexperienced hunters or hunters who haven't had a crack at a deer all year and are ready to let the lead fly no matter what and this can lead to wounded deer. I have done a bunch of 2 to 3 man drives when i was younger but they're generally reserved for late season, someone without a lot of time to hunt or because someones freezer is empty. However, when tandem hunting probably 75% of the time when we get down in the morning, someone walks over to someone else unless we feel there are other hunters nearby.

has always worked for me. I'll post pictures next time.

so does that last part say that it is illegal?

why we're even arguing is beyond me. I was simply looking to clarify for the OP. You're not spoon feeding me, but i see responses on forums all the time where someone asks for advice and a recommendation is given and the justification isn't given. We're here to help others learn right? So when someone just comes out and says ".308 is better than 30-06" or "matthews is better than any bow" it's not helpful. I will apologize for my bmw response, that wasn't needed. For what it's worth, I agree that a lower poundage bow should use fixed as well.
-
wasn't starting any argument. Here are your 2 posts. 1 did mention cost as the OP mentioned this was a concern, but you did not indicate in either post that poundage was an issue and why you were recommending fixed blades. So how is the OP supposed to know why you're recommending them. anyone who smokes cigarettes around his 3 children is a bottom feeder and since seeing your picture I'm not going to even respond to you anymore. If you'd like to continue to be in my fan club though, go right ahead. At least i'm on topic with my replies, you're just derailing threads.

i've always just cored out the ass and a good tug and she comes free. I was talking to a butcher once who said that almost 1/2 the deer he gets in have the bladder left in.

i think you should have to post your age with what you miss haha. I love my new multiroom hd dvr cable box haha. I miss not having a cell phone. When you could disappear into the woods or mountains and nobody could get a hold of you and work didn't expect you to answer emails when on vacation.
-
well you should have said that then
-
let me guess. You'd never buy a bmw and would rather have an 88 cutlass because there are just more things to go wrong with the bmw right? I would agree with you that the first mechanicals that came out weren't as reliable as fixed, but the first lcd and plasmas weren't great either. I'm sorry but in my family of 8 hunters we've all been using rage for 5+ seasons now and we've never lost a deer (including some bad shots) and the new chisel tip is even more deadly. Everyone has their own preference and it's usually what they shoot. So to add my .02. I changed from carbon beamens this year to carbon express maxima hunter kv arrows (not cheap at @ $180 a dozen but i love them compared to my beamens) and that's not to put the beamens down, they were 4 for 4 with bucks. I have 3 of the arrows equipped with the carbon express lazer eyes but I think i'm switching because they're not what I want. http://www.carbonexp...axima-hunter-kv http://www.ragebroad...ml#.UMczm6xdBAY truth of it all? you can kill a deer with a wooden arrow and a sharp rock tied to the end haha. it's more about the shot then the equipment.

i had a double lung go 50 yards. a few drops at first then nothing until right before he died where he sprayed everywhere. 2 years ago i had a single lung archery kill leave no blood as the exit wound plugged up. You just never know, especially if you're confident you made a good shot. However I did miss an easy shot 3 years ago on a nice 8 that most of us like to call "holy crap a big buck" syndrome. haha.

i'm not sure i understand the point of this post

we have evolved as a culture so to look at current hunting practices as a decline in the tradition is not fair. The average household has 2 automobiles, years ago only the rich had cars. Today 99% of houses have floors instead of dirt and we are not worried about bandits jumping us on a hike. Because most of us are fortunate to still be able to feed our families without hunting and when you add up what most of us spend on hunting, venison becomes very expensive. While I'll agree with you that social media has turned some of us into jealous haters, it's not fair to compare the 1800's to modern day hunting. It's apples to oranges. For me, taking a deer has always been a bonus as simply spending time in the woods has always been the cure to what ales me.

girlfriend...

you did though. all i said was that it was cool and similar to a crossbow and you came in swinging, and in fact quoted me vs the other guys who were far more specific. Between you and Tughill correcting a typo I'm not sure it matters what I do. Don't you have another doe to pick up from the butchers instead of stalking me?

sorry for the monday morning typo. please ban me for trying to help someone out
