  1. that's awesome and would be more military than hunting.
  2. it'll take a while to get them up, eventhough this says 1/6/12. Here is 2011 http://www.dec.ny.gov/docs/wildlife_pdf/huntingsafetystats11.pdf
  3. <-- this guy. but not for young hunters. I was on a business trip in early December in Grove City, PA. Cant believe the deer those guys shoot down there. Proven to work. what education? Without regulations nothing will change. Sh!t, look at all the poachers we still deal with...
  4. blah, blah, blah. Why must we have 100 posts a day by the same people making the same points over and over again?
  5. wtf? you'll never un-arm anyone. You're just spreading fear. there are already 300 million firearms in this country. They will not take them away. Will they come up with taxes, restrictions and ban certain kinds? maybe. But you've been reading too many wacko extremist columns if you feel they'll ever ban and confiscate.
  6. there? that's my fear. They use a tradgey or something they know will get support just to add permit/ammo/gun tax to help fund the innner city social programs to dig the state out of debt instead of focusing on the social programs that are worthless and cutting spending. i disagree with this. most of that money goes to conservation and to pay the DEC which generally has our best interests at heart. Even as a dem, Cuomo has always been a decent backer of sportsman, but this rampage made him look just as bad as that fool Alex Jones on Pier Morgan the other night. 2 extremists both yelling and foaming at the mouth looking dumb.
  7. in the middle east the husbands cut the heads of their wives off. like you and i have both said, the gun was merely a tool used for an eventuality that was going to happen regardless.
  8. yeah this is where'd we'd have to go. Honestly I wouldn't even go with high hopes of seeing a door. But if the weather is right it'd just be nice to get out in the woods and maybe add more meat to the freezer.
  9. if he wanted them dead bad enough he would have found a way to kill them, with or without a gun.
  10. holy crap how'd i forget to mention the thermacell! best money ever spent and great for camping, hiking and fishing too.
  11. oh i didn't realize this was the first year. interesting.
  12. Anyone ever partake? Interested to know if it's worth the drive and how it is. http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/82382.html
  13. some amazing bucks on that site
  14. well all i know is that i shot 3 lighted with my dozen arrows everytime i practiced and saw no difference.
  15. no change in accuracy. avoid carbon express lazer eye. i didn't like them.
  16. cams in general can be finicky. drives me nuts and it's why we should always rely on sign like tracks, rubs and scrapes over pictures.
  17. if i can put this on my crossbow i'll be a real bow hunter for sure!
  18. I work for a very large company as the Environmental, Health, Safety and Security Manager.
  19. you can learn a lot from "some" of the shows. But the problem with these shows at their shooting mounters every week and they can deter the average hunter who sees no deer or only doe. They just don't provide an accurate depiction of what is normal. If you can get your head around that they're are some shows that give good pointers. A classic example is my second season of bow hunting. had a nice 8 right below my stand. A 5 yard shot. He was walking very slowly and all i had to do was let her fly, but I kept seeing the guys on tv stop the deer with a mouth grunt. Scared the deer and he took off. Not needed that close.
  20. death is the easy way out. unfortunately criminals reap the benefits of free education, food, exercise and cable tv. I'm more for a slow painful torturing death.
