  1. Thats the only scope I have, I like it alot too but have zero experience with any other scopes. All of my other guns have iron sights.
  2. I am gonna this year, none of my gun spots are to great early on. 4J here I come!
  3. I used to enjoy leaving a gut pile in the woods from the last weekend of bow for all of the gun hunters to find on Monday morning.
  4. We split up the duties at my house. I went to school for it and still do enjoy cooking, even after working in the business for the last 14 years.

    Keeps going

My one dog does that, or simular anyway. He doesn't want to leave the truck, but if I keep him on the lead and get away by 75 yards he's fine. Now if I take him off and say lets go he will run back if we are to close, funny and I'm glad I'm not alone. I thought he was terrified the first time he did it.
  6. I know its only Thursday but this thread is turning to be the funniest of the week. Just sayin.
  7. Say What??? Send me your address of camp..lol
  8. I'll think of you guys when I hit the snooze button and go back to sleep..haha
  9. Get some spray and apply to your clothes, you will be fine.
  10. Sounds like fun! I need more details, did you hunt over a dog and if so what kind. I wish we had Chukar here in NY, I prefer them to Pheasant any day of the week but the only way to do it is on a Bird Preserve.
  11. See it on TV all the time, they walk or run up and start cheering and maybe they poke it with a gun barrel. Paying no attention to direction that they approach from and never use a stick, I suspect alot of fellas are lucky that their deer are dead when they approach. Me, I send my brother in so if its still alive he gets it and not me.
  12. Are we talking early in the year or late season? I got a pair of Bog's Blaze MT's (I think thats what they are called) any way, they have been superb for me all season. I did go to a heavier sock later in the bow season but I have been toasty warm and comfy all season long.
  13. If you really want to stand out in a crowd might I recomend a Matthews Passion. The most important thing to look at being a new shooter will be brace height, the higher the brace height the more forgiving a bow will be. My Parker has a 7 3/4 brace height, Geno's new mattews has a 6 inch brace height. Both can be shot well but mine would be easier to learn on. Anything 7 and above will do just fine for you, and Im sure you can find one the looks cool too.
  14. Can't really compare a bow to a gun, broadheads cut, bullets smash. I'll stick to my macho man 7mm or a 12 gauge thanks.
  15. I was half joking but, it is said that a bucks front tracks will have rounded toes due to scrape making over a period of time. Also in snow you might see where a buck drags its feet, that would be cause by the non stop running during the rut. Kinda like me before I have my coffee in the morning.
  16. Man thats a nice doe track.
  17. I think this year I will set up a venison donation stand on the side of the highway so the deer are brought directly to me, should be easier and less fighting that way, right steve .
  18. What didnt get in a picture was when I tackled you down the road and wrestled the deer away from you. It is still considered hunting if I have to find you and the deer and steal it from you.
  19. Yes and it has to have deer skull stickers to be really cool. Every one knows cool looking bows shoot better and kill way more deer.
  20. Man I thought I had you talked into the $3000 stuffer..lol
  21. The answer to stupidity should not be more stupidity. What goes around comes around, stay the hell away from him, it aint worth getting all pissed about. And then slash his tires...haha JK!
  22. It fans out alot in that area so that would explain the quick kill, missing the gut I would say was due to your shot being so dar back. You must have been in back of every thing and below the intestine's. Bet you didn't loose an inch of meat on that one.
  23. You see the stories every year I bet, like the Cornell buck that is in question right now, some guys will do damn near anything to get any buck let alone a real big one. Any one else remember the guy that "found" the 200' sheds a couple of years ago that turned out to be reproductions he bought over the internet? A big buck or the fame that goes with one will turn some guys insane. Not me though, you would find me at the dinner about the time legal shooting light comes. I can't still hunt in the dark very well and most folks don't like it when I rattle off a sound shot. (Thats a joke guys I dont shot at noises)
