First I have heard of that method, makes sense but then I have never had an issue with that type of problem. Typically I pop one prior to loading, but not every time.

Yikes, nothing worse than stinky meat. In fancy packaged steaks they add (I think) nitrogen to help keep the meat for longer. Not the case here obviously, just a useless tib bit I wanted to share...lol

I hunt with it the same as any gun. I load it most times before I go, carry a couple of quick loads and keep it simple. I don't unload it before I go home and have left a load in the gun for an extended period of time and had no issues with it firing when I do unload it. But I use Black Powder so its different for me. If you dont want it to go off, don't put a cap on it, no rocket science involved which is why I like it. Each gun likes a different load and bullet, the fun is finding which one works for your set up. I use 90grns of Goex and a 385grn Hornady Great Plains Bullet, others use alot more powder and a lighter bullet. To each his own.

No way would I ever eat meat that has been hanging for a week in temps over 40..yuck If the meat is over 40 for a total of 4 hours its borderline, meat is aged in an extreemly controlled environment which cannot be dupilcated in a garage some where. But have at it, you are the one that will pay if its bad..lol

I put those fiber optic iron sights on my ML which is a Hawken style Lyman. They are 100% better in my opnion then what it had before.

I had one of those deer that was sitting tight while bird hunting this year. There we are, me my 8 year old and my dog walking through an open field talking and giving commands to the dog and all of a sudden my dog starts acting a little like he smelled something interesting. We got with in 40 yards of that doe that was beded down before she got up and bounded away kind of slowly. I figured it was due to a buck chasing her all night and tiring her out as it was the rut but who knows? I learned that day that Gus points deer, lol. I invented a new way to hunt deer, well Gus did anyway.
