  1. Thanks, cut, pasted, and printed These types of dishes are great for a busy schedule family.
  2. +1 to what Geno said. I have liver hits pile up in 30 yards and I have them go 100, some times with little to no blood. Either way they die, I would bet liver/gut..or there is a small chance you hit the high area in between the gut and loin and didn't hurt the deer at all. You need to find that arrow for a better idea. Liver will be a deep red with a grit to it and also a strong smell. If you can't find blood and know where the bedding area is, start there.
  3. I agree, and same here with the rabbits and squirrels... soaking in the salt water draws the blood out. I would tend to think it would dry it out aswell but have never done it to venison.
  4. oh what I wouldn't give for snow..
  5. Here is an article that explains what NY did in this case... http://wrlawfirm.com/BlogWP/startup/new-york-tax-credit-law-to-stimulate-high-tech-business-growth-pt-2/ here are some snipits.. "The estimated net fiscal benefit to the state government is about $145 million and the economic benefit around $1.47 billion." "$1.2 billion in cash and tax abatements originally going to AMD (initially California-based) – now being awarded to “The Foundry” company owned by the Government of Abu Dhabi (very oil rich company) that will have their headquarters in the Cayman Islands to avoid taxation"
  6. I think they are getting us back for last year..for us any way we had great weather last year.
  7. yup thats the one, and no I wasn't being sarcastic when I said Great Jobs. Alot of them are great for us here in the region, but there are also going to be alot of jobs that are given to people outside of NY simply due to the techy nature of the jobs. Meaning there aren't enough highly qualified workers to feed AMD what they need here. AMD held job fairs across the entire country, and possibly world, to fill the positions. AMD laid off about 10% off its workers in 2008 cutting pay of remaining employee's in the process and did more of the same last year, that doesn't sound like a safe investment I am willing to pay for. It may be hard to receive tax revenues if the company folds. But you are right, NY will get alot of tax money from both the business and the new workers brought in to work there. More they can squander away.
  8. Any one else notice how every single politician's add's are saying they are going to go and fight for change and put an end to the problems in Albany. If only they all did that, things wouldn't be so disfunctional in NY govt. I am pretty sure that none of them are going to solve anything, never have never will. It just keeps getting worse for the rest of us. Here is one of my favorite examples, near where I live they have this Chip Fab plant coming in, great jobs..but alot of the jobs are people coming in from other states..oh and there is the part where NY decided to hand over 1.2 Billion to the company (AMD) to get them here. Remember what the budget gap was last year... $2.2 Billion, now I am not a rocket scientist but, it seems we could have shaved 1.2 billion right off the top right there. The problems we face reach across party lines and are caused by both sides.
  9. I am pretty bummed right now, they have flood watch's and alot of rain forcast for the next couple of days which means we will not be able to cross the creek to get to our good spot... :'( I guess we will have to figure on a plan B and hope that the water goes down for the rest of the season.
  10. I wouldn't expect gas money from Doc after giving him a ride so he can talk to some one that didn't have a tin can.
  11. Oh wait I got it, Laughing Hyena.. deffinetly
  12. Very interesting, I never knew they were a problem. I guess because I have never seen it other than a suburban setting. I would still be very concerned with getting it wrong and getting in big trouble. Did I mention I hate Chipmunks? haha
  13. Ok thats a great start, I will be expecting the check in the mail.
  14. Chipmunks are annoying, that was my point. Cats eat chipmunks, Coyote's eat cats. See it takes care of its self. Does anyone have a problem with cats in their area? I have yet to see packs of cats roaming the woods distroying things. But that is just me.
  15. Why shoot an animal that will take out those pesky chipmunks. And what if it isn't feral and the owners find out, you will go to jail for a while and then what? Some of you worry about the anti crowd and then justify shooting a cat or dog.. real helpful to the rest of us.
  16. Outline of Jesus? an Owl? Doc? I am running out of guesses
  17. http://finance.yahoo.com/family-home/article/110999/the-new-bugatti-waiting-for-superman-no-more?mod=family-autos Come on I know some of you have an extra $2.8 million laying around. I need a new hunting car, this way here I can sleep in and get there in 2 minutes instead of an hour. Where would I put a deer in this thing? http://l.yimg.com/a/p/fi/33/07/94.jpg[/img]
  18. How about this guy..he say's he can't do any worse..haha http://wnyt.com/article/stories/S1776863.shtml?cat=708
  19. My release is on the reserve list as of now, I am using my sons little JR release. It is way better than my old one which is getting to have that slow gradual open. My brother had the same kind and his died this year so that got me to thinking that mine is next. It is number one on the X-mas list and I already have one picked out. Why use a release meant for a kid you ask...well we have been through some tuff stuff lately and when I asked him if I could use it to kill a deer he was all smiles so that is all it took. I will deal with the way to tiny wrist strap and dicomfort that it causes in order to make him happy!
  20. Just 11? I think you should make it an even Dozen just to be safe in case the other 11 break on the same day.. haha I am with you Doc, nothing extra for me either.
  21. I am going out Monday, I have to take the camper over to storage during the day so I might as well hunt in the morning too.
  22. I don't think there are much of an andvantge other than knowing what is in the area. I don't own one but I would have liked to had one in the yard to know which deer was eating my flowers over the winter. Then I could positively ID the rat that did it! Maybe the ones that let you know at home whats there would be unfair, in theory one could lie on the couch and wait for a deer to stumble through and then run out and shoot it. But I don't know if that would work either.
  23. That would be a tough call to make if you had them standing side by side. Nice bucks, I guess you can't go wrong either way. The top one looks to have a year on the other one, what do you guys think?
