Yup, plenty of range time and time with PRB. I wanted it to work but it just wouldn't cut the mustard for me. My father shoots PRB out of his gun (the make escapes me) and gets fantastic accuracy due to the slower twist and longer barrel.

Speaking from experience with a Lyman, it will shoot conicals better than PRB. Way better.

ARs are meant for guys like you that can't age a deer on the hoof, that 2-1/2 you killed was a 1-1/2, we all saw it posted here various times. It also didn't weigh 160 pounds but we have established that already. I'm going to change my position on mandatory ARs, maybe after implementing them and not getting the desired results we can get real change that might do something positive. Sometimes you have to let something burn to the ground before it can be rebuilt. Bring on the ARs!!

I did the online thing a few months back and a few weeks later I got a letter saying I needed to respond. Then I did the mail version and it worked just fine. I called in but didn't have to go in and sit through the process thankfully.

If you climbed a tree the size of the guy in the picture it would bend back to the ground. I think you might require a more stoutly grown tree like a California Redwood.

I took a quick look at the NWTF and didn't see any kind of instructional events coming up. I don't know that I have ever heard of such a thing either. I am self taught, started using mouth calls at the age of 13 and took to it for some reason. Basically I practiced a ton, and I have found that the best teacher's are Turkeys themselves. In my youth I would record myself and listen back to see if it sounded good enough. You do not need to be a champion caller to make it work, just try different things until you find what you like.
