Here are a few of my bucks I've shot over the last few years. I've shot others but they were at the beginning of my hunting career so I wasn't as picky. All of my deer are up on my wall as they are all trophies and memories I will always remember. Hunting is more than just killing and consuming an animal, or putting antlers/mounts on the wall. It teaches respect (to the animals and other hunters), hard work, dedication and patience. Yes we ALL sit in the woods and imaging a 160+ inch buck walking down the trail right to us, but we get carried away with this sometimes. Everyone just needs to sit back and take in all of the little things and appreciate what the sport/passion of hunting truly gives us. The next time you go out, sit there and just think about how lucky you are to be right where you are at that exact moment. Good luck to everyone who goes out this weekend and hunt Safe and SMART! Going from L to R top to bottom 2009 175 pound 4 point (bow) shot from ground at 10 yards while making a scrape 2010 150 pound 8 point (shotgun) shot in swamp opening morning 2011 ??? pound 6 point (bow) shot before college class, showed up late but my teacher didn't care because I got a deer 2014 ??? pound 8 point (bow) 40 yards from the ground opening morning of September season. (did all the mount myself)

hmmmmm.... what to do what to do?!

skin it and double bag the hide so more ticks don't get in the garage/house.... and then eat the deer!! don't waste a whole deer because of ticks. every deer you shoot has ticks, some more than others. doesn't ruin the meat. kind of a silly question if you ask me...oh wait you did

Stud! Love the bleach white rack!

off. i put my backpack under my seat against the tree and it has a strap with a clip so I attach it to my backpack. arrows stick right up incase i need a quick follow up shot they're right there

i was thinking 4.5... thick chest like an older deer but no back sag and his face doesn't look that old (no sagging chin/roman nose) kill him and then let us know! haha

Best two ways in my opinion are to head them off to roost, of you can spook them and just do light yelps to call them back in after (any time of day). If I go in the fall anymore its roost hunting.

What's the oldest gun you guys hunt with? I've taken my grandfather's Ithaca Deer Slayer out before and that's probably 40 years old. what's the reason you use old guns? sentimental value? only gun you have? only gun you want?

wow really? I've seen them in there before. got on a buck that had just bade a scrape one year, no shot as he ran along the top of a deep ravine. last year I kicked up multiple doe during muzzleloader season. again back in on a logging road that went down to a ravine. better luck next time if you try it again.

had a good 8 Monday night come in making scrapes, swollen neck and everything. never responded to my bleat calls when he walked away... sign everywhere but not sure how hot they are now

buck hill north of Delta Lake. I've been up there, not much success and quite a few guys but there are deer up there and if you can get in far enough without getting lost you can get a good one. my buddy's family owns some land up there bordering the state land and he ususally sees some good deer every year.

i almost shot a black squirrel opening day of the northern bow season this year, glad I didn't because after turning around from watching it is when I saw the 8 point I shot instead! maybe with the shot gun after deer season i'll go back to see if I can find him for a mount.

Of course I did! All for you teacher

Got deer #2 with the Creed for the year last night. nice doe came in just before dark. passed on multiple other does because they came in minutes after one of the target bucks was able to skirt me in the thicket... about 15 yards, steep angel, only about 6 inches of penetration but got the artery running along the spine.... Rage Extreme did exactly what it was intended for

If I win the lotto this week I will be sending the kid a check to the kid to pay for a full body mount.... I sure as hell would have shot him too without hesitation. Its disgusting how people can be so narrow minded and low down scum to the point they would say an 11 year old kid should be shot and killed..... for god's sake we just had another school shooting! I bet those exact people who say the kid should be shot are at home watching the news saying "those poor innocent children," yet you can sit there and wish the same thing on him.... those people should go to HELL!

marinade in teriyaki sauce over night in strips.... frying pan with some hot oil until cooked...don't over cook cook down some onions and long hots (peppers) and then cover the chicken with them... cover everything in Monterey jack cheese (or your favorite cheese) and let it melt over the top...mmmmm one of my favorites!!!
