  1. ARs are like providing first aid triage to a war wound. I supported them from a gun hunter safety standpoint but they're not going to touch the culture of killing, illegal activity or game management incompetence. Simply put they were the best and easiest option for the NYS Big Game hunter's level of thinking. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Noticed my first here in Wyoming county last yr Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. So do you know what's beyond your target when you hastily shoot? How do you practice quick snap shots and verification of clear lanes when you shoot at the deer that won't stop? Oh wait..... you can't be burdened to do that or count points. Keep spraying lead and making points comrade. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Hiding behind the exceptions is a dated argument Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. All deer seasons throughout North America have cultural interests woven through out them (dogs, no sundays, etc). The NYSDEC is just a failure to license buying hunters, especially those hunting whitetails, as they are so out of touch with the herd. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I back the ARs, not emphatically but due support the bill rather than oppose. However, if you have faith in the NYSDEC (or subsidized their sect of Cornell) or feel this isn't solely cultural, you really need to do some reading, fact comparison and actualization. 7. Agreed. To me, that's a target gun you hunt with. Lol Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. My thoughts is they're eating out of the hand of Lord Jeremy Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. I used to think that way- but no longer do. It's like saying you waste your vote for an independent party whereas voting for x takes a vote from y. I'll out my support where I'd like... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  10. I've got a bit of a collection- my vanguard s2 in 257wby is my go to deer gun- that's over a 243, 260,270, (had a 280), 7mmrm, 35 rem and 308. Region 8 from 10-500 yards.. and a couple of the others can shoot farther...just not flatter and with the same lack of recoil. The only thing that gives it any competition is my savage ml and you don't want to bring that in the discussion. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  11. So why are all the bridges in NY painted with lead paint? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. Any job where as you get tenured is one we shouldn't support. Yes- my wife is a teacher. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. Wondering how many of you understand the phrase of "only a dumb bird craps in its nest"...... now back to your propaganda more stocked weapons being needed and how if you pass a half racked 3pt will lead to bountiful Booners Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. Regardless of the state the vast majority base their seasons on culture and dollars. Dogs in SC, baiting in The south, snow tracking in the NE...... Thanksgiving slaughter here. None of those are needed per sound biology. New weapons here.... needed for numbers? Nope. Perhaps revenue stream or to perpetuate the decline portion of the aging cranky hunter bell curve. These threads are always a riot ... everyone believe the states estimated numbers, doesn't question how they could even attain them, and then proceeds complaining about how their personal interests should be made law for everyone to follow. 15. Please tell me this is sarcasm..... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  16. Far more so. Have to love that often used argument (esp on here) of hunting to feed the family. Guessing when you're too stupid to do math you're too dumb to understand the results as well. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  17. People bait, and cheat laws in general, because they feel entitled due to their compromised intelligence and physical stature in a state that typically caters to the lazy anyway. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  18. Don't be so nice- if you only gun hunt; you're the problem ...and most likely a whiner on top of it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. Can't go wrong with either. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  20. Like most things in NY everyone wants the best outcome with the least work or admitting they're as much of the problem as the guy they mf Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. Portions of Livingston and Genesee are ideal for them....orleans will added and is another big ag area. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  22. Everyone should practice at any range they plan to hunt and with any weapon they plan to use for that purpose. If I can take 3-5 shots a summer at the longest range I intend to shoot, have a consistent outcome to realist desire- I'm good. 4 shots a year is a box of ammo every 5. I do shoot a lot of rim fire at close ranges to keep my shooting form true...but do not shoot more than 3-5 shots with any other hunting rifle unless on a kick to do so. It just seems every 25-06 owner thinks the 257wby is the same as their gun with pinstripes..... um no. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  23. And why was this needed? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. The biggest, if not only reason I support ARs is it should force gun hunters to validate their targets before shooting. Then again, I don't think it will ever happen and know our buck maturity won't change until there is a huge overhaul of the season structure/length and the dec has an actual idea of what is alive and killed annually.
