  1. Left office. Waiting to get my hair cut. They offered Sam summer ale or reg Heineken. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  2. Still at work but had this last night. Anyone post it yet? Anyone had it and like it? I thought it was good. I'd probably buy it again. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  3. Beans get hammered either way. Awesome late season food source if there's anything left. Deer hit them green too. Here's a bachelor group of a couple 2.5 yr olds and few yearlings just the other night. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  4. i hope you mean the real stuff. no angel food crap. i mean homemade Bisquick biscuits, vanilla icecream, strawberries from the garden, and cool-whip to top it off. if you're an over achiever add shaved chocolate on top of all that.
  5. garbage bread is another great one that's easy. also weiner dogs in bacon with sticky honey bbq sauce.
  6. ...or seeings how there's kids there. don't cook anything. go to walmart and buy a $19 snowcone machine, a few bottles of sugar syrup to go with it, and handful of bags of ice. it'll be the most covetted thing there.
  7. Hijacked from another forum. Old shared recipe. Tastes like jerky, bacon, and goodness all wrapped into one. Venison Marinade 1 Cup Soy Sauce 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar 1/2 Cup Vinegar 1/2 Cup Pineapple Juice 2 teaspoons Salt 1/2 teaspoon Garlic Salt Boil all ingredients then let simmer for 10 minutes. While that is being done take your deer meat and cut into stew meat chunks. Wrap 1/2 piece of bacon around meat piece and put a toothpick through to hold on bacon. Let maridade cool and then when cooled pour onto meat. Marinate for at least 4 hours. I like to do 8 to 10 just because it seems like it takes better. Grill on tin foil and then serve up. The remaining marinade DO NOT TOSS OUT! Freeze it and then you can reuse it by boiling then starting from top.
  8. happy chuck right there. hopefully the little guy stays out of ag fields and lives a long life. same for all his offspring. lol
  9. i think more people than not think CWD is reason for concern and very much bad for deer. your opinion is just a different opinion. CWD is always fatal. some infected deer last longer than others. us killing many of them with weapons or vehicles often first, doesn't change anything. still means lousy odds for a deer. knowing that we can play a bad roll in screwing the deer over by helping CWD spread more than it naturally would and that we very well might be indirectly where it came from, we should feel obligated to at least trying to make it better. that's the whole idea of conservation.
  10. they know which deer tested positive. they still don't know how or where those deer got it from; the guy's place, parts related to taxidermy jobs, area where the fawns came from, etc. it's hard for me to say how it hasn't spread from there. could be lots of reasons. maybe the positive deer weren't traveling far to contaminate a large area. maybe the deer around the guy's place get hammered pretty good each fall so any potentially positive deer doesn't get a chance to spread it. all speculation on my part i don't know john or the situation there enough to say much. while i get what you're saying with percent tested, what you said doesn't seem to be true. you just posted a picture from www.cwdfacts.com saying that CWD was tested and found in wild deer without finding any in a captive population first. so efforts of testing wild deer aren't dependent on testing local captive deer first. still both should be tested for monitoring purposes all the same as it is now. if something were to pop up it's better to find out sooner than later to slow the spread or snuff it out with whatever actions the DEC or USDA decide are necessary.
  11. always liked this one too..... "God created all men. Sam Colt made them equal."
  12. saturday morning before it got too hot i unloaded a couple steel wagons (full of hay bales) with dad, went out to breakfast, and then put new brake pads on a truck i'm selling. other than that it was home with central air. sunday morning did some garden stuff before it got too hot. later in the day cousin had a double bday party for their kids... theme was swim in the pool or stay next to the pool under an ez-up. heat isn't bad to deal with so far. office is conditioned too.
  13. How about this one..... "Lady, you're about a half a bubble off plumb, and that's fer sure and fer certain."

  15. she's no punt gun to get yourself hurt but definitely a 10ga or backbored 12ga. sure you got the size right? business end looks slightly thick compared to the part you're holding on to.
  16. CWD was known to be found in captive deer and wild deer in Oneida county back in early 2000's. Nobody knows where it came from here and often nobody knows where it comes from when it pops up in a new location anywhere. Purely speculation, but i think there's so many people out there ready and waiting to prove DEC is full of crap that if it existed in NY someone would find out to make them look bad or wrong. So I think at this time it's most likely not here, but that's said not with absolute certainty.
  17. anything here that would be thought to turn into "at least an 8 point" has more beam with the start of rack is more forked. looks like he might be a small 8pt and probably at least a 6 like WNYBuckHunter said.
  18. Edited to be relevant.... The Devil went to Jamaica He was looking to sell some weed He was doin' fine, they were standing in line It was excellent weed indeed He came across a young mom who was likewise peddling pot And the devil slid down the beach and said, "Girl, let me tell you what. I guess you kinda figured I'm a reefer head of course. And after all this time, I guess that I'm a connoisseur of sorts. Now your stuff smells OK, but this can tranquilize a horse. I bet a million in cash against your stash that mom's is better than yours." The mom said, "My name's Jenny, and you ain't smoked nothing yet. One hit of this grass'll kick your ass, you got yourself a bet." roll a ball of hash and make sure it's the bomb 'Cause the devil's got the kinda stuff they smoke in Vietnam You'll get a million smackaroos in cash if you can cope But if you can't the devil gets your dope The devil packed a bong with a little Acapulco gold And rosin flew from his fingertips as he fired up his bowl He filled that chamber all the way and he took a mighty hit And as they passed it back and forth it gave them both a coughing fit When the bowl was finished Jenny said, "Hey, man, that stuff was great. But fill your lungs with some of this and prepare to vegetate." Cannabis sativa, sweet Mary Jane The devil's in the back yard frying his brain Zig zag filled with a diggidy dank Hold on tight it'll hit you like a tank The devil nodded off because he knew that he was stoned And he asked if he could buy an ounce of the stuff that mommy owned Mommy said, "Devil, just come on back if you ever want to catch a buzz. I done told you once you son of a bitch mine's the best there ever was." Fired up doobies one by one Ain't gonna stop 'til the bag's done Green as a bull frog sticky as glue "Granny, do you get high?" "Yes, I do." [Disclaimer: runs in the family apparently.]
  19. sometimes they run and abandon other times i've seen a doe chase a yote to stomp it and the yote ran off a bit, had a stale mate, and then trot off with loss of interest. i got to think it came back later though. i've seen both. also seen a fox try to run down a fawn close to the barn yard. the fox that had poor timing as we saw it going down and it ended up with the fox being run to the next hillside by a side-by-side and ATV as fast as they could go. lol
  20. i feel like it's from early spring. with rain and stuff they're still damp. idk. hard to believe a buck is hard antlered this soon.
  21. tom hoffman owns hoffman's car washes and jiffylube auto service centers out this way. he's done the North American Super Slam with a bow and taken all the sheep multiple times. he was just at our Capital District QDMA branch's banquet back in April. His trophy room is said to be pretty awesome and the size of my house, although i haven't yet seen it. One even better is Tom Miranda's down in FL. he's got a library off to the side with old books that belong in museums, many about pirates. He's got All north american game (he took them with a bow) and many from Africa. even got some old bows on display he took them with.
  22. a buck with the most mass i've ever seen was covered in dust in a basement. only the antlers and skull plate were mounted to a basic wood "plaque". it had so much mass it looked like a tight small basket rack buried back in a corner and hung up high. tine length seemed respectable but nothing that great. i didn't think twice about it. after being down there for a couple hours working on something i finally brought it up. after it got my attention it was discovered the rack had a 19" inside spread.
