  1. when we go south to places like Punta Cana with the whole Zika virus that's what we use. use a it all over and it seems to keep everything at bay day or night. miss one spot and it won't take long for the thirsty suckers to find it.
  2. Pulled my turkey thumper out from the safe at least. Had to check it. Work tomorrow. Why shoot a 3.5" vs 3"? Cuz they don't make a 4". Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  3. These are in rotation in my fridge. Yes they're shot. Drank them first. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  4. i admit i've been a closet drinker as i've not posted many i've had lately. I've got at least half a dozen different beers in the fridge and not a mixed 6.
  5. Voss. By bulk aluminum and get your name printed on it. says you don't screw around to those who see it. ...actually will be ordering some this summer.
  6. i deal but my UnderArmour heat gear is black. i wished it was white or grey. it's an under layer so color doesn't matter but it'd help me see something crawling. keeps you cool too for late mornings. you feel every breeze. i'm sure rynoskins work just the same.
  7. i want to get a 26 Nosler but i feel like barrels won't last long with a bullet cooking that fast.
  8. i think it helps but i also wear UnderAmrour Heat Gear pants and shirt. keeps them from getting to my body anyway. in the summer for sun screen the wife gets Avon Skin So Soft Bug Guard Plus Expedition. works pretty good. we're about out though.
  9. this year i went for a walk with my 4 yr old daughter. ended up with 7 crawling around. i've had permethrin for a while now but never use it. taking no chances now. soaking some select hunting and work wear clothing in a bag then line drying them. seem to be bad this year more than ever unless i just hit a pocket of them.
  10. yesterday i worked a 14+ hour day in the office. hopefully the work load lets up this week and i can get out there.
  11. the daughter find out yet? how pumped for you and to get back out there was she?
  12. if there's a groomed sled path then report it to the local snowmobile club that keeps it up. access is tough to keep so they spread the word and then everyone keeps a watchful eye. otherwise you can just put them back up. nonworking cams with dead batteries in them work as feeler bait to see if culprits are still around. usually you can figure out the time of year. if it's all year long you know it's someone local or with access to local land.
  13. saw this article and thought of this thread so i'll leave this right here. coyotes here in NY are trying to gobble up children on playgrounds again. such a shame. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/coyote-attack-police-officer-saves-young-girl-westchester-county-new-york-2018-04-30/
  14. I wish I had a kid with me that could shoot. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  15. Not live, but from the 2nd morning of youth weekend. Heard him gobble in the woods behind the gun club nextdoor. Probably several hundred yards out. Called him out and through the corn field, through my field and into my back yard to with 13 yards. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  16. i should probably get a neck sizing die for .223 Rem as i've got hundreds of spent brass that's basically fire formed to my varmint gun that i put the most rounds through. i'm thinking about it. i've got a lot of 53gr vmax but i bet i could get these shooting well too once i get everything to completely reload with my all my own stuff.
  17. the state and government already know i have guns because i have pistols. naturally they're not hard pressed to think you own others. exactly what they have no idea.
  18. if i didn't already have a lot i'd be buying some. once i figured i'd get into reloading i bought components first.
  19. took a huge poplar down in my yard a couple years ago. that was a nervous situation. garage, shed, house, and a driveway full of cars on all sides but the one heading toward the back yard. still another one at the other end of the house but i'm not pushing my luck if i can help it.
  20. i've sent a varmint scope back that lost its zero. same thing. no problems since getting it back and i had that scope for a while.
  21. when i went to college i went to University at Buffalo. street signs seemed to be higher than normal and there were underground tunnels to get from bldg to bldg. then didn't cancel class for any kind of snow.
  22. ground pounder and bowling pins for pistols. rifles steel plates every 100 yrds out to 300 yards at the gun club next door. kind of pointless and boring that close though. i've thought about getting a movable steel gong for the farm so i can put it out to 450+ yards to up the fun factor.
  23. it's weird i've accepted shooting right handed with my left eye dominance. i'm fairly ambidextrous but definitely right handed. not switching. it'd be too weird. probably help with wing shooting or trad archery where you're not so aiming so much as pointing. otherwise i don't see the point.
  24. i don't have as many guns as others. still in my early 30's too though. i've got had an itch for pistols for carry, hunting, and comp... right now i've got a Sig 365 carry gun, Volquartsen Custom Scorpion 22LR with compensator and target frame, and S&W Performance Center 44mag (hunting setup of some kind) on my mind. Shotguns i'm probably good but i've had an itch for a nice over/under. Rifles i've had an itch for a rim fire for a while as i've never had a rimfire rifle of my own. Looking at the Volquartsen Superlite 17HMR semi-auto as i also want enough HP to pop the chucks with less noise. Always looking for a flat shooting less recoil hunting setup for taking others out and just for fun. Always been open to a nice bigger bore lever gun too. I'm glad i've apparently got commitment issues.
  25. I'm salary so time doesn't matter as much except I have projects getting buttoned up. Farm is 20 minutes in other direction, pressed and dressed for work back at the house, and then office is 45 minutes away from home down in Albany. Makes it difficult. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
