there's recent rock artists and country artists that have gone back and forth retaining success.

we use Matson lab that all the state wildlife and many biologists use. i haven't heard anything bad about deerage.com lab though. bucks from what i know typically peak at 6.5 or so then then start to go down hill in antlers and body mass with no particular pattern that i've heard of. my understanding is if they die of old age they don't look much different than a yearling with gnarly but smaller framed antlers. i'd think access to hunt him where he spent enough time must have been a factor but i can believe the age. real hard to tell most of the time from photos of a dead deer laying on the ground.

snowing at the office here in albany. headed soon for home to plow and clean things up. over 500' change in elevation so things could get real. last talked to the wife and it was coming down hard. -

must be an aftermarket trigger? i like the compact version. fit like a glove for my hands. i felt it was a little wide for concealed though. -
First Time Stippling...My VP9

seems to look really good. i feel like stippling would be tough to do right. like if not done right it'll in-fill with "dirt" and won't clean well, losing it's effective grip. anything of mine that's stippled was wood and from Altamont Co. -
need to stop listening to that pop country *&^% from male country "singers" they play on the radio now. could be your problem.

in this area power outages don't last very long. few days at most. we get hours long outages often though for some reason. i feel for those in the towns really getting beaten down with the snow. anything i get i'm more or less ready for. generac with automatic transfer switch runs almost the whole house, save some lights and recepts in bedrooms and basement. all utilties, garage, whole living room, and whole kitchen is powered up. i've got enough propane to last quite a long time. i've got enough food to last the year. if shit hits the fan, no worries, i'll see you in the summer. oh yea snowmobile is ready to rip too. -
I'll keep everyone posted but QDMA and some other groups, along with DEC are going to ramp up discussions on how to get different events going regarding deer processing, nutrition of wild game as a food source, and other info. i'll try to keep everyone posted.

same as WNYBowhunter. Flew into Orlando and Tampa from here in Albany -
probably half irish. local chapter NWTF is having their banquet here on the 17th. it's st.patrick's day. attendance still under debate. they do have a beer mug to buy for free refills until the keg gets kicked. that also gets you into a raffle for a 6.5 creedmoor AR.

we already called ours. have to give facility final numbers yesterday for the 10th.

doing farm work now versus back when i lived on the farm as the oldest son/free labor. i noticed not having all the little stabilizer muscles toned up like i was in really good shape and working myself more often kicks my butt. i can still move the same heavy things but don't have near the control moving heavy things into place and it's more exhausting. core sucks. i used to be able to pick 2 50lb bags of seed with each arm up to my shoulder from a tailgate with ease. now i could do it still but probably lose one off my shoulder often and just about fall over until i got my footing to start walking. not to mention my back would kill me later when the pallet was empty. I'm not even middle aged! couple decades or more like this and i could be in real trouble. lol might as well stick to washing dishes in the house.

i'm pretty sure it's not your age but the fact we're talking atlas stones. the concept of storing large round stones weighing that much in a corner like another guys 35lb dumbbells seems extreme even though i get it.

Scariest experience or encounter in the woods or on the water
dbHunterNY replied to wooly's topic in General Hunting
first hunt on my own for big game. new (no) moon. flashlight batteries completely died getting to the stand. had a fox alarmed and screaming while circling me probably within a chipshot with a bow. i didn't know what it was at the time. -
especially here in NY the independent party candidates are largely decided on behind closed doors. there's really only two parties. the other lines are pretty much planted to make it look like candidates are appealing to more folks. if a candidate has more lines they look more like the clear choice.

i've got a 10 acre corn field nextdoor that's behind the house. my 7 ish acre thick creek bottom runs into it. problem is this past season a lot of knuckle heads hunted the edge all the way around. its a rod and gun club. deer activity dropped to nothing during daylight. also they take any deer in the area and more doe than they probably should so deer activity is low to begin with. i really barely set foot back there this year and hunted the farm the whole time. i'll go check it out back there soon.

Dicks sporting goods/field and stream
dbHunterNY replied to Robhuntandfish's topic in General Chit Chat
i went to F&S/Dick's last night after work to see for myself. They basically pulled almost every semi-auto and AR off the shelf. only some semi-auto waterfowl shotgun setups where there for semiauto long guns. Still had tactical/sniper bolt guns to know end, pump shotguns with mags, and cases all around and full of pistols of all kinds. feel good BS. i had a nice talk with the gun counter people who were there and left. it was kind of an awkward convo though and i felt a little bad for them. -
i need another like a whole in my head. will power is less and less though. billdogge haha at least it gets a bump.

heard championschoice was shipping to NY but not sure. club members were ordering from there.

you want to open it up so you get more air flow to prevent mildew. also to allow more sun light into the top to produce more apples than just on the outside. ....my basic knowledge anyway. no expert here.

winter. getting a little late now with all this warm weather but we've held a seminar mid march a couple years ago. you want the tree to be pretty dormant is my understanding. less shock and problems with potential disease or bug infestations.
