can't believe i missed larry's JAWS thread. i found it though after reading this. your buck is likely not 6.5+. as much as I could tell i got to at least 4.5 but you should get docked a year for your taxidermist lopping off the whole back molar on each side! can't get to 5.5 if the tooth isn't there to look at. haha

If a guy from DEC said 3.5 yrs old on an 8.5 yr old buck it doesn't matter what it was eating or where in the state it was from he needs to be reassigned to a different job responsibility. Photos with glare or not completely in very good focus can throw someone off but we're usually wondering between 2 ages that are a year apart. We go through way over a hundred jawbones every season though. We work as a panel of three people and ones that we can't nail down or most any bucks closer to maturity we send center two incisors out for CA analysis. Our NDA branch is heavy into co-ops though. Less of them and more individuals doing qdm instead out in WNY I think. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk

I agree with this. Deer age is always bastardizing wear and replacement method. We've only used matsons lab in MT. Age estimate using tooth wear and replacement is always done by us but we never give it to them and they never ask. We usually have it nailed or have it age come back as the heavily weighted age between two ages that are 1 year apart. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk

I think of ice fishing as more of a social activity than actual fishing. Looks like it was a good time still. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk

Mine's the Cabelas Tactical Tat'r III. There's some things I've changed with it or would like to have changed but it works well. Massive thick seat cushion that flips up out of the way or down under you. hunter orange flagging for walking. silent pocket closures. back padding for rest against the tree. pocket layout is intuitive. only one pocket can create bulk while sitting. ...all things i'd look for. I've had it for many years though and model not available unless you find it on Ebay or something. Best advice is to test it out in the store if you can and sit right on the floor with it.

in the binghamton area my wife's grandmother showed up to get vaccinated. the place was pretty empty, yet appointments were full. the staff basically said that people are booking up appointments and then not cancelling one's they don't go to. they also said it wasn't right to let the doses go to waste and to make phone calls to get others they knew in need down there to get vaccinated. i'm hearing of similar situations all over. i'm essential despite not a care provider. i've worked the entire time. i'm 37 and in good health. i feel there's others that are in need before i am, so i have no desire to take advantage of a cluster f*** situation to get myself the vaccine. i'm sure there's others that have though. hell i know multiple people that are young but have health issues that make them very high risk. the NYS site doesn't even ask that and/or they've been told "nope. you don't meet requirements from NYS." NYS doesn't have their shit together as much as they could. governor probably left that part out in his book he had time to write.

It's like throwing a baseball having a reason to practice or play catch in the yard on a regular basis. All muscle memory even if you have form down. It takes dedication that some of us, myself included can't always give. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk

Any cheap knife will do if it's close to shaving sharp. I had no dedicated hunting knife. For a handful years I even used cheap $5 Lanski come in an impulse display to put at a bait shop counter. https://lansky.com/products/small-lockback-green/ I finally ponied up for a good one thats stripped bare bones fixed blade in blaze orange.... No gonna lie its a concern with 2 rapid tests being needed to get back to things in NY with their reported inaccuracies. Friends had a false positive and still basically had to quarantine with retest and wait. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk

A lot of guesses that practically nailed it. Wife is a Disney travel agent and had us in Disney World's Gran Destino Tower at the Coronado Springs resort. In all fairness any of our lawns would never be that nice, even the little lawn we have here at the family vacation house, despite it's rougher right now due to construction. No pictures from tonight and today. Last night dinner was at The Polite Pig.... smoked brisket, baked white cheddar mac n cheese, jalapeño corn muffin, and sweeter recipe slaw of some kind. Few Bbq sauces; a cracked black pepper and JD flavor, Carolina style, and sweet berry with a kick of heat. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk

i'd say it looks fun but seeing a bow hand without a glove is just making me cold.

honestly i'm more worried about what i've seen with partisan politics and knowingly letting things get messed up just to be afforded the opportunity to bastardize the other side. Then blatantly dumbass choices, from the federal govt down to county government and various health experts for each of them. Instead of the common sense in society red flagging this, society instead took enjoyment out of posting silly memes about it on social media. in the beginning things were feared but hopeful, maybe due to transparency idk. i watched every press briefing i could even Cuomo's complete version EVERYDAY, not cherry picked local news or partisan website articles. it's been an absolute train wreck since and I feel that the pandemic is far worse now than back when it started down in NYC and downstate. I'm torn how serious to take this for myself. I still and will continue to hand sanitize, legitimate masking, and embrace my detail oriented nature to be cautious of what I'm doing to keep it from adding to the spread. I've known of some who have died from it and then hear of people like Moog's wife (prayers from this way Brian) that keep me staying the course. Then I question how much sacrifice we as a society should make as I know of very ill and/or precondition plagued family or friends that have had it and kicked it. I'm far from a doomsday prepper and certainly not losing any sleep but how this covid situation has been dealt with has made me think i need magic bullets loaded into an AR-15 and mindsight of taking care of me and mine first more than anything to date. it's all non-permanent but still unfortunate view of society.

pretty sure you pulled some kind of trifecta there; venison burger, bacon, and tots.
