  1. Rough numbers are 600,000 big game hunters who take about 200,000 deer. That is a 1 in 3 success rate. He has already done better than over 60% of the hunters this year.
  2. Just for me personally, I have trouble using the words nice and tattoo together.
  3. Not to sound picky, but it's arrow spine, not spline.
  4. The 2 deer I'v seen in the last 3 years missing jaws where not born that way.
  5. FYI - membership there is around 2000 statewide I heard. 1% or less of the hunters buying an archery licence in NY. 1/3 of 1% of the overall big game hunters. They left a lot of telling comparisons out - biggest ones being those using gunpowder and those using strings for propulsion.
  6. Great job on the track and recovery! No - not in response to you. Thanks.
  7. Ask him for a pic. No one ever has one.
  8. I think there should be 2 seasons only. Bow season for all bows - compounds and crossbows are bows. Gun season for all guns - mz are guns.
  9. So no on the recurve or longbow? That's OK. No problem at all with someone using an easier weapon to learn
  10. A ricochet can't cause injury or kill?
  11. Edited my post with the quote. Thanks John.
  12. You shoot a recurve? What brand?
  13. Did you see the language before it was edited?
  14. Need to ask anyway about permission to recover. It will be needed on a property that size.
  15. Wasn't directed at you. Several have given responses saying maybe the neighbor was mistaken or didn't know the boundaries. OP stated land was clearly marked. I did not make any suggestions to action - harsh or reasonable. Just stated that based on the 1st post, the neighbors are knowingly trespassing. I would talk 1st, but based on my experience with people knowingly trespassing, it will not be enough and further action will be required.
  16. What many are missing in their responses is the OP said the land is clearly marked. Therefore this is no mistake or misunderstanding. The neighbor is intentionally doing this because they feel they can get away with it.
  17. As I said above, they may have killed some scent with smoke. They, and no one else, hides one scent from a deer with another.
  18. Can't count the times I have heard the stories if trail cam photo's of coyote's and fawns - from dragging dozens into a den or the pulling from a doe. And yet have never seen one posted anywhere? Wonder why?
  19. For sure. Not needed here at all.
  20. Yep - let anyone in . Doing ok. I'm the same way with the layering - of course a I have a couple built in layers too. Good luck with the season and stay well.
  21. Good luck Don! Shoot anything with my old DAS?
