Just a few photos form my yard
Four Season Whitetail's replied to Jennifer's topic in Hunting Related Pictures
Thats cool getting to mix with them when they show up. I get to do it all the time and its awesome!!! That button buck has some decent genitics in him as i have seen some buttons this year out of some huge bucks and there not as big as that guys!! -
I have unloaded on a few yotes in the middle of the night as of late. They like to come down and hang around the fence. I would say what you saw was from a pack of young yotes chasing a deer for a snack and the deer went across the road with the pack close behind and a few didnt make it across.Thats just a guess but it is strange to have 3 blasted at the same time in any road!!!

Agreed with doc!! Mabey a bit much but i think its with passion that he makes that statement!! I just think plots of a certin size are a good thing and not baiting but scratch something under your ladder and you just made a bait pile in my opinion!! -

No doubt thats why i plant every year not just deer its for all wildlife in general.I think i like my corn for the toms that it brings onto my property in the spring more than the deer in the fall.Sustaining wildlife year round is a far cry from baiting for a kill.Attractant yes a bait no. One species no. I will still say its not baiting if it grows out of the ground and feeds all year round. not just deer seasom! -
Yes they can shoot him!!! That will save a few critters!!!
-
To each there own but untill you mature as a hunter ang go after only mature animals the rest are just like yearlings. If he was to keep a log on that buck without shooting him i would bet that buck would walk by him time and again and run through the woods helter skelter during the rut.Not a big challange there.Again thats the good thing about maturing as a hunter.First few years its kill as many as you can and then 20 years and hundreds of deer under the belt you will go after a deer that will beat you many times before that fatefull morning when you finally outsmart him.In the meantime shoot all those stupid does runnin around to fill yur gut!!!

Bullshit.Bullshit Bullshit.Dave hit most of the nail. The only part i dont agree with dave is that EVERYBODY should plant something. Yes it would be nice but to each their own. You guys say they are a deer attractant which is true i agree and it attractacts and feeds every critter in the woods that eat greens and bed's in greens and peck in greens ALL YEAR LONG.How hard is it for you to figure out.A freakin bucket of corn is gunna attract a deer in a certin amout of time or its going to rot...BAITING FOR A HUNT!!! My corn food plots have deer in them today and the spring gobblers will be in them in may.I would agree that if someone scratches out a twenty yard circle under their ladder stand and plants a annual forage, you could scream baiting BUT my 5 different food plots 4 pereniall and 1 annual do a hell of alot more than attract deer just in the months of oct and nov.The only difference between a farmer and a food plotter is the FARMER harvests his but the food plotter lets the WILDLIFE harvest their's!! -
Which Broadhead for low poundage draw weight?
Four Season Whitetail's replied to wuggzwest's topic in Bow Hunting
Use nothing but stingers!!! 75 or 100 grain either 2 blade or the 4 blade with the little bleeder blades.I shoot low poundage after broken collar and shoulder and i will tell you most deer i have ever shot and not to toot my own horn but there was a ten year ten bucks stretch in there cut on contacts blow through like hot butter.Bigger than deer might be a bit different but wouldnt think it would be much as far as cutting all the way through the animal. -
He would walk on my farm. I dont care what they are if not a mature deer then they waik. To many does to worry about meat. Let one buck go and take two does now.You will thank yourself someday!! If you only hunt state land then i would say take what you can but any private land i say let em grow!!

Deer jumping the string, what to do?
Four Season Whitetail's replied to TheFieldArcher's topic in Bow Hunting
She just needs to move her aiming point down to the belly line. She drops the point of impact 4in lower and they would drop right into her arrow!! -

High fence ,low fence its still a whitetail deer. A fence does not change the animal it only changes how far that animal can go.If a food plot is planted in early spring and its a three to five year plot are you trying to tell me it does not help the deer and every other critter that eats from it all year long.Just because my ass sits on the plot a few times during deer season is far from bringing in bags of corn and beets to sit over and kill a deer when it comes to get a snack. Not real hard to figure out!!. -
Where is the one's for the dip-sh!ts and pain's in the a$$???

You guys that think any kind of food plots are baiting..Well its pretty simple if it comes up out of mother earth then it is now natural reguardless of how it gets there...Dump it out of a bag....not so natural!! -

who hunts state land?and what have you killed on SL?
Four Season Whitetail's replied to arrow nocker's topic in Deer Hunting
With 700 acres to roam in my backyard to hunt,I still take 5 to 6 trips a year to letchworth state park. I think all but one of the 8 that are on my wall from the park were scouted and earned. Sat one stand, seen buck movement down the river bottom farther, moved stand and killed said buck. I have no problem showing and telling where my 120 to 150in bucks come from. I have even brought people down with me only to pull a buck out on a sled where as you are pulling on the sled up the steep parts sometimes the sled is just hanging in the air.not touching the ground only to hear them say yur freakin nuts and will never see me down here again..lol..Gotta do what ya gotta do if you want a chance at real success every year..Oh and for the guys that cant or dont want that kind of hunting..There is plenty of room on the uphill side of the road!!!! -

When do most of the big bucks come out???? Dark thirty...If ny says its legal we just have to suck it up and deal with it. I at times spotlight property that boarders mine just to see whats hanging out in the area.I also have people that spotlight my property to see whats hanging out on me. Alot of people like to see 200in bucks so we seem to get alot of visits..day and night!! -
What makes just the bucks disappear?
Four Season Whitetail's replied to RangerClay's topic in Deer Hunting
Just remember the CWD started in deer that were confined, not wild deer. So now we can't feed the deer. How about closing down those places confining deer, for what ever reason they have them to begin with. Another clueless statement from someone that i guess has no clue how cwd even got introduced into the state. Yes the guy had deer but the cwd was brought into the state by bringing deer heads in from out west to a ny taxidermy shop. The guy did not dispose of the shop remains as he should have and it got introduced into the deer. Cwd in a ny deer farm is the least thing that would ever happen.Any deer on any farm is tested for cwd when they die on a farm.Ny deer farms are one of if not the most tested farms in the country. If you are worried about your deer dieing from something in ny state you better worry about ehd. -

If you could only use one scent...?
Four Season Whitetail's replied to nybuckboy's topic in General Hunting
I only use scent that comes from the real deer itself. There is so much crap out there that most times you get a negitive response from the deer. There are many deer farms in ny that make collect their own scent from their own deer!!! -
We have the blood in ny to grow great deer.Just have to let them grow up and the only way that will happen is ar,shorter seasons, one buck a year max but we all know everybodys take on that so most deer like that will be seen right where that one is......Safety zone's...
