i did enjoy hunting my land this year with a crossbow and look foward to full inclusion so i will finally have the right to use a crossbow in my own woods, the very woods i pay a hefty tax bill for every year.

in your fatherland heavy gov regulation is something you are no doubt used to, but here in America we try to keep that type of nonsense to a minimum.....another mandatory gov impossed course to use a crossbow....Reeaallly???

cant bait em in NY, so going on a guided black bear hunt is a joke. head to Canada. any bear taken in NY are shot by deer hunters who just happen to see one or a poacher who baits em into his yard and pops em...

wow, sounds like a horror movie.

its an unnatural smell to a deer in the woods and will more than likely alert him. but with that being said if you enjoy a nice smoke while on the stand and that is part of the experiance for you, then have at it...hunting should be a sport that is to be enjoyed without having to look for acceptance from others.

how well do they work with European lineage, language differances and many differant methods of record keeping. also what do they charge?

in my experience deer tend to move alot more even in daylight in extreme cold to find more food. always liked cold weather hunting.

well i was walking along the road which skirts my property and there was my nieghbor Moe cruising along very slowely on the other side of the road with binos looking out the open passanger window of his PU truck. he didnt see me at first but then he did when i was just about across from him and i gave him a big wave and he stopped. i walked over to chew the fat for a minute or 30 and there was Moe in his hunting suit, binos in lap and rifle laying up on the seat next to him, yea he was road hunting. at first he looked at me alittle sheepish but i knew what he was doing right off the bat and he just says to me, yea im looking to take something from the road and i quickly replied good for you. you see Moe is in his mid 70s and arthitis have done a pretty good job of eating his hip joints away, he is a life long hunter and good fella. other hunters might have givin him the cold shoulder or even went as far as reporting him but i took this opportunity to wish him luck and tell him where i have been seeing deer move up the road, i wished him luck, shook his hand and told him to call me if he nails one so i can help him get it out. as hunters we tend to wanna run with this rule of holding everyone else to a higher standard than even themselves. this is a trait i detest most in our community and we should all just stop it. it seems to blossom most here on hunting forums where if your not hunting with a recurve your weak, if your not hunting with a vert bow that shoots 350 fps with all the latest gadjits your weak, if your not hunting with a primative muzzle gun your weak. its old and tired and most people dont listen to it anyway, so maybe its time to give it up fellas, you know who you are.

if you were asking about .243 we could have a real debate here, but asking bout what 3006 ammo is like asking what type of train should i use to run over a mouse. almost any 06 will kill any deer any time, and 200 yds might as well be 50 ft. just go with a round thats over 150 grains factory ammo of any type for NY and you will knock em dead every time. if you wanna have a talk about killing at 800 yds then its time to talk loads and seirra verses nozler, types of primers etc and that could go on and on forever.

its best to know where you hunt is acceptable, someone owns the land and may not have had the chance to post it or whatever. if its posted and there is no address on the sign that should be good enough reason to stay off. besides the last thing you want during a relaxing hunt is having some pissed off landowner pull up on you and ruining your hunt... i've said this before on this forum and here i go again, NY has close to 1 million acres of state land which anyone can hunt. some of the lower regions get crowded but alot of it is underhunted and holds great deer. most of it borders private land anyway. just get on the DEC interactive mapper and look at all the land out there. especially at this point of the season now going into muzzle loader season most state land is very deserted....

always like hearing that the state has acquired more land for hunting and to keep more developments from springing up.

in my dmp 3m they give out more doe permits than just about anywhere else in NY state, we have the highest deer car collisions in the state and i basically dodge one or 2 a week in the mornings on the way to work. i have had family members have deer come right thru the winshield and personally know of 2 people who were seriously injured by hitting deer, one on a motorcycle. i dont think the DEC giving out doe permits is any type of gov conspiracy.

you know we have all made the big box store exactly what they are, "BIG"....and now we are paying the price. the small shops used to care about our business. the BIG corporations could not give a crap and the people they hire could not give a crap. we made our beds now we gotta sleep in em. well gotta go to Walmart and get some socks.

when they start with the ole "well it's Gods plan", then it's conversation over for me...

good start point bout 69K...people will throw offers in the 40s i wouldnt take less than 60K. iffin it had septic and electric you could get 80-90K easy. 7 years ago you could have gotten 120k as is. good luck with what ever you do..
