I went up to the property this morning and there were 12 -15 deer in a neighbor's field....One was a buck still holding his antlers, and he was dogging a doe around...I didn't put glass on him, but he was a big bodied deer and his antlers were clearly visible to my old naked eyes at 300 + yards....

Holy CRAP, Batman.....I might even give up Wendy Nichols at 19 for that !! Well played, Dave... Hehehe...
-
Wendy Nichols if she still looks like she did when she was 19........
-
Please send a picture of her ass so that we can determine if it was worth kissing to obtain your pistol permit...

Beautiful rifle....If you shoot high end loads, you may need every bit of that fat recoil pad...<< GRIN >>....

Sounds like a typical date book down here in Dogpatch...

" Farewell and adieu, my fair Spanish Ladies..."

Eat your Wheaties....Most hunting in Idaho is at about a 45 degree angle,, and that's the LEVEL ground....Hehehe.. Good luck, my friend, I envy you....

There is a song " I Don't Look Good Naked Anymore".... I have been singing it since about 1980............

Happy Birthday Lee !! Hope ya get your pole varnished ....Hehehe....

NO....Your sizer die will do all you need.. Some guys like to neck size only because the cases are fire formed to thier rifle.... pros and cons, but many people think that full length resizing is best with hunting loads for best reliability in feeding...

Chances are all you'll ever need is an O ring, but HEY...Ya never know..Good score Paula..

Anyone doin squirrel hunting?

I'd be interested to see the picture if you get it, Jerry...Most fox squirrels I have seen here locally are along the rivers, but I was gobbler hunting on a hilltop along the PA border south of Dogpatch, and I set up in a hickory grove and saw several fox squirrels..About the only ones I have ever seen on the hilltops around here.. Al Strouse , a local taxidermist , showed me a huge mount of a fox squirrel he shot while duck hunting the Tioga River near Lawrenceville..It looked almost as big as a cottontail !! -
That pattern would be a sure kill at 50 yards also....I never could warm up to a clunky Mossberg, but they are functional and shoot like a house afire...I have seen my buddy Gator from Canada make some pretty awesome shots with his 835.. He uses 3.5 shells but I don't think he needs to... I personally have never fired a 3.5 " 12 gauge shell, and I don't ever intend to.....

Yeah, who knows ?? I did spend some pheasant hunting in that area in 1969 and 1970... I remember one stripper on Chippewa St in Buffalo that resembled Tacks, except she was a lot shorter and a lot fatter and she was black....

Affirmative... Obviously, he ain't MY kid tho....Hehehe...

Pretty easy duty in port in Newport...Except for an occasional quarterdeck watch, work knocked off at 4:00 PM (1600 hrs)...Good fishing for blues right off the end of the destroyer piers...We would beg a few scraps of meat from the cooks and use it on small hooks to catch a few 8-10 inch tinker mackerel, and then we would fish the mackerel whole for blues... Did better on stripers fishing from nearby jetties with cut mackerel or cut bunker... The EM club was just down the road in case we got thirsty, which seemed to happen quite frequently...

I only ever bought one surf rod....My destroyer was tied up in Newport, RI for a one month tender service... I bought a 9 foot Zebco rod and open face reel at the Navy Exchange for $25...The reel was spooled with 25 lb. mono.... I used that rod/reel to catch my first saltwater fish, stripers, blues, flounder, tautog, plus various shit fish such as bergalls , skates, sand sharks, etc... Caught them from the destroyer piers plus some surrounding jetties... That was June, 1971.....

" Short Old Member".... That describes me in more ways than one.....
-
That has been my standby for the last 10 years or so...A 120 Barnes TSX propelled at 3000 FPS....Blows half dollar sized holes out the far side of anything I shoot with it and kills very efficiently with minimum meat loss...

Yeah, and 14 years.....Hehehe.....

Nothing against either chambering....Place a good bullet from either one in the vitals of a deer and you have meat.. However, with a shot at a less than ideal angle, or on game heavier than deer ( including elk) I think the heavier bullets in the 7MM08 have an advantage...I also think they are more likely to provide a good bloodtrail, should trailing be necessary.
