  1. There are lots of ranch hunts (and others) available for older folks and folks who are limited physically... Many of them have very high success rates also, as long as you are just looking for an average bull and not too hung up on B&C class animals.... My advice is to contact some booking agents...They get their money from the outfitters by drumming up business for them and the good ones will work with you to find a hunt in your price and ability range, and help you with tags and other details..
  2. I regret parting with some vintage Remingtons...A 1950's M722 in .222, a 1950s M48 Sportsman in 28 gauge, a 1950s M1148 in 16 gauge, a 1950s M870 12 gaugeSkeet , and an early 1970s M1100 20 gauge skeet... I still have an early 1980s1100 12 gauge mag, an early 1990s 1187 12 gauge and an early 1990s M700 Mountain Rifle in 7mm08, as well as a 1942 03A3 Rem Springfield, in, of course 30-06... They are all quality firearms and I could fill up a couple of truck beds with all of the critters I have shot with them... Oh yeah,,, Then there was that early 1990s XP-100 pistol in .260 rem that I sold to Lawdwaz....I killed 6 deer with it and then he killed a couple also..
  3. All our Democrat/ Commie Governor cares about is giving money to people who don't work for it...Because they are the ones who vote for his sorry ass.....
  4. I blew a bundle on The Mermaid for roses on her birthday a couple of weeks ago, so all she is getting for Valentine's day is a card....Hehehe....
  5. I get bored very quickly at casinos....I can lose enough money just on bell jar tickets at the Legion...Hehehe..
  6. Not to hijack your thread,Dom, but my Dad's Stevens M 15 is the first REAL gun I ever hunted with...My Mom bought it for him for his birthday in the 1950s...Paid $15 for it at our local Western Auto store...He used it mostly for coon hunting.. When I was 10 or 11 Dad started letting me take it out on his property...I killed my first coon, woodchuck, rabbit , squirrel, crow, grouse and fox with that rifle along with other " targets of opportunity" such as pigeons, starlings, chipmunks, and red squirrels.. I still have it and it still shoots good...
  7. Back in the 1960s the walleye limit was ten per day....Oneida Lake had a special regulation that allowed 10 tip ups per person and you could set them out, leave them overnight and come back the next morning to check them, like checking a trapline...I never fished it, but talked to several old timers who did..They said that to catch walleyes, you needed to set your baits close to the bottom, but not TOO close...If they were too close to the bottom you would catch lawyers ( burbot/ling) and /or mudpuppies ( hellbenders).... This is your history lesson for today....Hehehe...
  8. Same fish....They are also called lawyers because they are slimy bottom feeders...Hehehe...
  9. The absolute Caddilac of .44 Mag revolvers.....Just as the Colt Python is the Caddilac of .357 revolvers, although the S&W M27 comes in a very close second....And that is splitting hairs....
  10. This is exactly the setup I used for many years on a Rem 1100 mounted with a Weaver K 1.5....
  11. The Mountain Gun was designed to be carried a lot and shot little...They are very popular with Alaskan Bush pilots, who will all tell you that they hope never to have to use them...It would probably be a fun gun to shoot with light .44 special loads..
  12. I had problems with a scope on a .338 Win Mag slipping in the rings due to recoil...On the advice of a friend, I put a wrap of tape around the scope underneath the rings...I think I used masking tape.. Whatever I used it cured the problem..
  13. Actually Larry, it is a WAD " Wooly Authentic Drawing" program....
  14. Howdy Tex .. Welcome to the forum.... I have a couple of good friends in Texas, one in San Antonio and another in Corpus Cristi....
  15. Reminds me of my Mother-in-Law, may she RIP !!...Hehehe... Good work as usual, My Friend !!
  16. Whenever one of those ambulance chasing bastards advertises on TV I lob imaginary grenades at the screen... " HURT in a CAR ? Call William BOOOOOM !!!..."..........Hehehehehe.....
  17. Be sure to top off your mag with one of those blue diamond rounds...<<grin>>....
  18. I'll " fill in" for you on the hot tub gig, TF....I can think of lots of fun hot tub games to play, like " Lollipop", "Lick the Bisquit" and " Hide the Weenie".....
  19. I don't have a plow, so I have to use the walk behind SB , shovel, or hired it plowed..... My side entrance, which we use as a main entrance has too much landscaping, etc, for the blower so that is all shovel work...Of course I have to shovel the ramp of my utility shed just to ACCESS the damn snowblower..
  20. I remember you....." Teddy Bear ".......Hehehe..........
  21. Okay, Jerry...When the snow lets up you can come over to my place and shovel it..!!...Hehehe.......
  22. Perhaps....But that fur and what it conceals can and HAS changed history and moved mountains... Never underestimate its power....
  23. Reminds me of a story.. A guy went to the gym and when he took of his shirt, he was wearing a bra... A fellow near him asked " How long have you been wearing a bra ?" The guy answered " Since my wife found it in my glove compartment"....
  24. So which two co-workers did you pull this prank on ?
  25. Unless you are pass shooting crows at extreme range, a tight choke is a handicap...My .most deadly crow gun is a 2 3/4" 12 gauge with improved cylinder choke and low brass # 7 1/2, 8 or 9 shot...I have killed literally hundreds of crows with it...They are a smaller target than they look and the small shot keeps them from flying through the pattern..It doesn't take much to kill a crow at normal " called in" ranges, and the wider pattern of the open choke makes them easier to hit..
