Great response....Lots of dickheads out there... Once many years ago when it was illegal to buy beer before noon on Sunday I stopped at the local Red & White to pick up a 12 pack of Genny Lite a little past noon... I knew the checkout girl, so I said jokingly " I don't use the stuff myself, but the wife and daughter like it on their cereal in the morning".... There was a very proper looking woman standing behind me in line, no doubt on her way home from church.. She stuck her nose in the air and said " SO....Your daughter drinks TOO ? " I said.... " Well, she's NINE !"... When I left, everyone in the store was laughing except the very proper looking woman.. True story....

There came a time when both my Dad and (later) my Mom both had to give up their car keys... I was very fortunate in the fact that when the time came, they both knew that they were no longer capable of driving safely and they gave up the keys voluntarily... It still, however, breaks my heart remembering the tears that they both shed on that occasion....

I have a picture of myself standing on a dock Keuka Lake, wearing a life jacket and holding my Dad's 9 foot split bamboo fly rod. I was four years old at the time and I still have the fly rod..Dad won it in a trout contest at Naples Creek in 1936. Dad used to tell his friends that I would rather fish than eat. My daughter loves to eat fresh fish, but she never developed much interest in fishing..She was too involved in girly things, drum &bugl corps, etc.

Reminds me of a joke.... A scout for the Green Bay Packers went to Ole Olsen's house to interview him as a possible member of the team.. Ole was not home, but his wife told the scout that Ole would be home soon , and to sit down for a cup of coffee.. As the scout drank his coffee, Mrs. Olsen, a robust woman, was cleaning the kitchen.. She picked up the fridge, and cleaned underneath it, and proceeded to move numerous heavy items in the kitchen.. Wanting to make conversation, the scout said..." You are very physically fit, Mrs. Olsen, did you ever consider playing with the Green Bay Packers ? " Mrs, Olsen blushed and said " Oh NOOO...I only play with OLE'S packer..."
