  1. DROpTine, There was a picture a few years ago in the local newspaper of a mountain lion taken not far from your upstate property,It wound up being a photoshoped Bobcat.
  2. It is always pointerd north, northwest or west. This is not my first trail camera.I have had them for at least 10 years, but previous ones were home brew custom ones. That just expired and the internal boards and cameras would have cost more then the Bushnell Trail Cam did.
  3. X2, we do not usualy get that much snow but they still head there and for the older pines and spruce.
  4. Mine is still going wacky, was taking pictures day and night, night pictures normal black and white, day time pictures had a pink tint,Will not hold the date and time you enter, goes back to factory set time. Did the download it did nothing.Put a second set of 8 new batteries, half of the day time pictures have color and others are with a pink tint.
  5. Shotgun season in Suffolk was one of my favorite times to hunt there, snow on the ground, could see a good distance. Also good tracking. Put in the time and keep the wind in your face.
  6. This is something look out the window this morning 7:00 am there on the side of the hill is a good size doe bedded down chewing it's cud, it is on one of my trails in the wide open, about 100 yards out.Behind her another 200' is a house, I go and grab the 35mm camera, dead battery, grab another camera that one had a dead battery . 7:30 she was still there.
  7. Big Buck Clover Mix. They have been hitting it all year and have trail camera pictures of them still hitting it today, pawing threw the snow.
  8. Grow. ? Did you have your surgery yet ?.
  9. Where are you located ?. I have a Mathews MQ 1 . In the range that SOB said.
  10. The largest fish I ever caught was in one of the ponds near Bear Mountian, On a tip up with a live minnow, largemouth bass ,we used a 6" auger for the hole and had to make the hole wider with an ax to get it out. Shame it was out of season whent right back in.
  11. Old joke two teenagers make a bet who can pee the highest on a wall one male and one female.50 years later they meet at a party, the guy said to the lady you remember that pee contest we had when we were young, she said yes you want to do it again ,he said ok. they go outside and she bends over and pees on the wall he un zips and holds his thing and pees, she said you loose this time because you are not alowed to hold and aim it.You did not do that when we were teens.
  12. Bow/MZ Either Sex or Bow/ Mz Anterless
  13. Most people just put a pair of ( what ever socks ) on then ther boots and walk to the spot they are going to post or there tree stand, now there feet are sweated up with wet socks. inside of boot that do not breathe. Socck liners with any type of socks walking in, then change the socks to a pair of good quality wool socks.Dry socks warm feet.
  14. That sounds good do you use ground meat in it?.
  15. Check out some ice fishing if you like fishing. By next month there should be some ice thick enough to walk on.
  16. Had the same last night it was good. Crock pot pork chops tomight.
  17. That should be Hunting Not Driving Lic.
  18. One time a friend and I were posted around 100 yards apart a spike buck walked out from the heavy woods and went back and forth to each of us stomping and scraping the ground trying to make us move, it finally gave up and walked away.We were both dressed in bright orange from head to foot and on the ground. I have not shot anything this year on my property because everything here is no more then 2 years old.One spike and his two sisters and there young ones of this year. Once in awhile another buck tall spike with little 1" points on each side. Grandmom and her brother or stud an 8 pointer only showed up twice before archery season.
  19. Rode around today to pull the cards from the trail cams,Very few tracks.Pictures showed deer and turkey feeding early in the morning 2 days ago.
  20. Pygmy knows his cuts of meat. My fatherinlaw a butcher that would cut up our deer, even though he had the equipment to do it never did , only if we asked would make Chop Meat or Sasuage , mostly Roasts,Chops, Steaks, Ribs and Stew Meat. And he was born and raised up state N.Y. not down State.
  21. A New York Term for Ground meat is Chop Meat
  22. I have had many Remy. 700's threw the years, most bone factory stock, a few blueprinted and some customs.Only had 1 that did not group very well at 100 yds.Model I forgot but it was a .308 caliber. We removed the bbl. set it back a little re chambered it , bedded the action, shot factory, + many different reloads, that thing just would not group well. One that shot the best was a BDL with a bull bbl. in .243, that thing shot so well, people found it hard to belive there were 10 shots in the target. But a bit heavy to carry around. If I were ever to buy another one I would go for the CDL I like the idea of a removable mag.
  23. For this type of weather I like the old fashioned orange or green wool gloves. When it gets really cold out I bring out my pair of Wiggys mittens / gloves .the thumb and the trigger finger have fingers the rest is a mitten. They keep my hands warm and my hands cannot take the cold.
  24. This was a good story going on, You heard the good points and the bad points of a club. As it has been said for a long time you can make some of the people happy most of the time but not all of the people all of the time. I am not taking any sides here but I can tell you, Yes there were or are trail bike riders and mushroom pickers going on the property. I have see Bob and other members do everything they can do to try and stop it. Where I lived at that time it was an hours drive to get there and I have slept there over night up stairs in the pine framed beds and hunting design.bed wear a few times.I even hit a buck there with my bow ( bad shot ) and most of the members there spent a few hours tracking it ( time away from them hunting ) and they found it And helped bring it back to the club house. The meals Bob made were great and the frig. always has something to drink in it.The bar is well stocked and the large scree TV is nice. And the members always had a good story to tell. Hang in there Bob. I now live 6 hours away and have my own property to hunt.
  25. I was riding on my property on my red atv towing my small trailer behind it, making a hell of a racket, I had my orange and black camo coat on, my lab was sitting on the back with a bright orange hankerchef tied around his neck. A dow was bedded down below us it heard us but stood up moving it's head trying to pick us out.A good minute or two went by and I then picked up my bino. to make sure it was a doe. It then saw the glare from the lenses ( sun was in our eyes ) and then started to walk away.
