They do it to sell the racks,It was ( I have not lived there for 10 years) very common in the parks and other areas on L.I., N.Y. The would use 22's with VW mufflers on the barrels also bows at night almost every time we went to fish we would find bodies without heads. You would also see them on the sides of roads early in the morning.
X2,I left an area of young trees that are pretty close together and they go in there during the summer,I planted an area of spryce the last 2 years.Today I pulled out a bunch of 1" to 3" dia. young trees and I am going to plant some white pines to replace them, also planted some fruiting bushes 3 years ago and the were munching on them this year.
Do a little at a time If you have a tractor, You can also rent a tractor ( I would rent a small dozer ) one with a winch. I did mine with my small JD and a bucket ( wish I bought it with a back hoew ) pushed the smaller ( up to 5" dia.) trees over and poped the root balls out. the larger ones I cut and left a 4' stump, Went around the trunk and cut most of the roots then attached a cable to the trunk and pulled it out or over. It's not just a weekend job. If you could afford it I would just have someone come in and do it.
Ok. The AH is up this weekend shooting on his property 22's + center fire, what ever and the shotgun, starts at 9:00 Am goes on until 9:00 Pm. Let's say he see's what he things is a Mountiian Lion while carrieing his loaded shot gun on the road and shoot's at it while on the road. And he is shooting into somebody's property not his.?.
Just weash your hunting clothes in Atsco sport wash and wash yourself with unsented soap and anti.Presp. and leave your boots outside.Do Not Need That Stuff. And most importan play the wind.
Old 4 power widefield on mine, touching at 50 yds. 1" groups at 100 yds.,but that's off of a shooting bench. I would have too look to see which Rem. sabot it is.
Congrats Geno, as a former L.I. er I tell the people up here in the Catskills about the L.I. deer and the look at me like I am BS them.Good eating ,potatos, pumpkins, Acorns galore and out east the grapes.Congrats again.
Do not like preaching but.
I do not understand why you did not go and get your problems fixed before hunting season( there would be many seasons afterwood) I just hope you do not get to a point you have to go out in a wheelchair to hunt. A Big Rack Is Not Worth It.
Go to a pro shop, there are a number of thm on L.I., One in Hiskville,I belive on brodway, American on 110, Suffolk on rout 25 before Ridge.Have not been there for years but the all were good.
That fence is no problem for the L.I. deer,do not thik it is confined to that area. I have seen the jump over the 8 foot fence along Rt. 25 on the old Grumman property.
That's what I was thinking also, Just waiting for the temp. to drop below 40 during the daytime, looks like it might next week by me. I can wait for rifle season I have a doe permit this year.
