  1. So, my buddy's kids pet rabbit just died. He's looking to have a "service and burial" tonight and I have been recently curios about making rabbit's foot keychains. Is that wrong to ask for the feet? If it is not wrong, how difficult is the process to turn them into keychains? Jeez...as i re-read this post, even i am wondering, "is this guy serious?" We'll, i am and where else can I ask this question but to NYHUNTERS! Don't tell PETA!
  2. My 15 year old nephew just packed his bags and is moving up to Rochester.
  3. By is a fully camoed ground blind safe with other hunters in the woods?
  4. What happens when you arrive and someone else is in your stand. Do they have access to tha seat since its public land?
  5. Just took the kids bowling in the Boston area this week during feb break. They have the small balls and pins...(down the lanes too!). Anyway....good time had by all
  6. Two weekend walks again, one with my boy and one solo. TON of sign with my son (buck and doe shat everywhere) I thought for sure we were on to something yesterday but no luck. Today I went back to an area i wanted to search hard. Found the herd...20+ deer. All look pretty healthy but I am starting to wonder about this area. Very few sightings of buck shat and the deer I was seeing a close range did not appear buck-ish. Any tips to recognize anterless bucks among a herd?
  7. Love the video and time you take to put them together. I must say I was a bit disappointed-no bloodtrail on the snow?
  8. Rare enough to see an albino buck...but to see him chuck his luggage is awesomely rare I imagine!
  9. Nice pics. That's gotta be a bit frustrating knowing that those horns are still attached when you have been out looking on the ground. At least no one got a chance to grab e'm yet.
  10. Took my son and daughter (couldn't convince his twin brother to make the trek) for a snowy walk in the woods today to recover the horns from the dead buck found last weekend. I'm very glad i marked it on GPS since the snow completely buried the evidence. My daughters claiming ownership of one as her first find! She likes the easy satisfaction...I like that she find this satisfying!!!
  11. Iwas all set to make venison Shepard pie for the potluck...NEMO knocked it it until the end of the month. Oh well,....delayed gratification I guess!
  12. These are two finds from last year(my sons and mine). Are they matched? The were foundin the same patch of woods but on opposite ends.
  13. What's easier to harvest, a nicely racked buck with a bow or a matched set of equal size shed hunting? This is what I think about on those SKUNKED days!
  14. My guess would be Road jacked deer bought home rite after it was killed. No time in woods gutting. Gutted and butchered at home and dumped away from the scumbag's house.
  15. What an awesome dog. He locks up beautifully on birds. I love that he REFUSED to break point, even on command!
  16. Anyone have a link to the interview. I can only find old ones?
  17. I guess so wooly. My hope was to see if there are others in region 3 shed hunting. I guess not(or they just ain't saying)...which is fine by me!
  18. Found a dead buck yesterday. I wasn't prepared to hack off the horns so I will be back. Found a mess of deer and an area I really need to dedicate some time to.
  19. I was in the program this year. It allows access to Muscoot, ward pound, Lasdon park and mountain lakes. After you submit forms and pass test, there is then a lottery to select who is in for the upcoming season. They allow 100 hunters but those who meet all requirements from the previous year are automatically accepted back if they pass the shooting test again. I liked it since it put me in contact wit a lot of other hunters, many of which were very helpful with spots and dee movement.
  20. Hey wooly ...has a-rod and ray Lewis contacted you yet to be their supplier?!?!
  21. Middle school English teach and basketball and golf coach. My spelling sux as a result so no worries about me editing any posts. Also run a summer sport program for a private country club.
  22. Headin to a venison cookout...NO CHILI ALLOWED....what are some other suggestions. I'm not looking to show off so no backstraps or tenderloins are on the menu. I need something different besides stews or chili...good challenge?
  23. My Brittany is named Trico while he is only two colors...caught a great trout in Montana on a size 24 Trico fly...liked the sound of it. Other fly names I considered were Caddis and Sulphur. I like two syllable names.
  24. I got the mattnews mission venture...upgrade from the craze but same line. I like it probably cause I killed my first deer with a bow this season with it. Nice and compact. Quiet and fast enough for me
