  1. Here's my 9 year old Brittany, sleeping in his favorite chair and pose.
  2. Long neck black labels were like $10 a case- high class low brow beer! So sorry to hijack this all to important thread
  3. Blue mountain sportsman center in Buchanan .. About an hour south is my guess. They have trap and skeet as well as 3d archery range and gun ranges
  4. Did you have them fill out the permission/access page in your ct guidebook so there is no issue about you being on the land(especially with anti-hunting neighbor)? In the ct book it also lists a website that links hunters with land owners looking for hunters.
  5. I say we allow the crossbow hunters to shoot yearling bucks over bait only...while NOT wearing back tags or a specific amount of blaze while their dogs run the deer from private land to their treestand where they are not wearing a harness...wounded deer must be "offed" with an AR. What did I miss? Only kidding of course-I love all hunters and could care less what implement people use as long as they stay away from MY spot on public land.
  6. Hey BK...just you and me done do the reading thing which is why I speak such good English. I was hoping for some more suggestions before I head out for vacation....
  7. I enjoy bill heavey's articles on the back page of f&S. he has a book called "if you didn't bring jerky, what did I just eat?" It is a collection of his back page articles plus some extras.
  8. I just bought a non resident bowhunting license for ct and was shocked to see that I get no back tag. All I got was a receipt and a booklet that contain the harvest tags. Seems simple.
  9. Just make sure you ask PREDATE how to best store them while not in use....feel better PREDATE!
  10. Potato and egg with franks red hot on seeded Italian bread - great cold ----chased by peanut chews
  11. I am at the smoking stage and am having a real hard the keeping two hides together. I am using Elmer's Glue as recommended but the hides are not exactly the same size/shape. I think it will old together but there ae lots of gaps(some of which I think I will be using clothe pins to hold shut). I highly doubt i will be able to turn it inside out to smoke the other side without it ripping the glue seam,
  12. I was softening my first hide today (1st hide EVER) when my 9 year old daughter jumped right in the mix. She is a natural and I was glad for her help.
  13. Come on Elmo this one seems primed for you and your latest comments on another thread! Lol
  14. "Line up in a circle" and "1/2 of you over here, 1/2 of you over there and the other 1/2 sit down"..... Two of my old PE teacher's favorite statements
  15. That's from "Revenge of the Nerds" right?
  16. Tons of other wild edibles as well but in regards to game my suggestion is to hook up with a farmer who has crop damage as a result of large herds. Probably a tough sell as a newbie hunter though since they want critter removal to be swift(ie. no time for a learning curve)
  17. You clearly need one of those "squirrel nut traps" that is pictured in another thread on here somewhere. He didn't appear too stiff after that incident.
  18. Found a great pond loaded with monsters...only problem is it was when I was with my golf team on a swanky westcheter club. Images of the robertsons from duck commander and the cops running thru my mind. Asking for permission for something like frog gigging is like asking for the first born child of the clubs president-
  19. I never targeted cats before and would be interested in giving it a shot. If anyone has any suggested spots I would appreciate it. Looking to take my boys for an evening into night experience.
  20. Probably getting free health care, food stamps, and probably free cable on their flat screen.
  21. Do you think Phil and Ms. Kay really live in that house/glorified trailer or is that staged? I tend to think that's legit...and yes all reality shows are far from actual reality.
